    Meguiar’s HPC at its current slashed price point is a winner for me. You can get multiple vehicles coated with one can. Its aerosol form and the product doesn’t crystalize like traditional ceramic coatings do when you open the bottle. So you can use it to top off panels when they start to show wear.

    Wow 1 year and the hot dog water still looks great. Crazy to think it went beyond 6 months because Teflon belongs on pots and pans according to the elite RUclips detailers

    Scott, impressed so far with Undrdog Pro. If I’m correct this is your first test of it, so it would be nice for you to test it again as you like to do at least two to verify the results. Thanks again for everything that you’ve done. It truly is appreciated

    Idea - probably not new but here goes: How about testing the durability provided by all-in-one or one-step products (ignoring the cutting / removal capabilities)? For example, start with a nicely finished, smooth hood; apply two or three passes of the product; then see how long the protection that’s left behind lasts in the normal way. I’m thinking Griot’s finishing sealant, Griot’s all-in-one ceramic wax, Rupes One, etc.

    Wow 1 year?! Cant believe it, time flies!
    I put the Meguiars hybrid spray coating on my car about 1 month before this test (I think) and it is still very hydrophobic except for the hood, that slow sheets now for most of the hood.
    I love the product and use it on my other cars now also.

      Exact same experience. Hood is weak and failing and same with the hatch of my GTI. But the doors looks amazing still and bead like crazy. I'm at about 7 months and didn't top it with anything over the winter. Still impressive.

    Unfortunately Fartador doesn’t fail but WE fail at installing and maintaining correctly.
    After 1 week cure time we are supposed to slap ourselves for being conned (optional step) and apply an over the counter topper such as nufinish, meguiars, or griots. Heck even turtle wax. Then reapply the topper every 3 months.
    I promise you that square would look the best if only it had been topped appropriately by real working products that MAINTAIN the fortador. In the biz we call it “Holding down the Fort”

    I wanted to see CG "Carbon Force" because in an another review, they claimed it was more a sheather than a beader which seems to be the case in this test. It has not failed yet, it looks weak maybe for the reason it is a sheather which I prefer over beading, it produce less water marks. Curious to see how long it will hold there, but I’m satisfied of how it is performing. Maybe you should consider trying it on other tests if you still have some left. Thx Scott for your videos 👍

    • @yftinthyn007
      @yftinthyn007 2 года назад +2

      Unlikely. Seems like an excuse for fast degradation. If it’s supposed to sheet, why does it bead so strongly in the beginning? You would think the companies would design the product to behave consistent with the manner in which it is first observed to the user. In its current state, most people would not be very happy with carbon force. Sheeting in the real world isn’t good anyways because things like sprinkler overspray or road spray won’t see enough volume to “sheet off” the paint. It will just stick there etching more contaminants in. If you have a strongly beading product, even the smallest overspray from sprinklers or the road should bead off and self clean from driving. Put a sheeter side by side with a beader and I can guarantee you the beading side will look better over time. Chicago Auto Pros demonstrated this as well on a real world test.

    • @Exoseven
      @Exoseven 2 года назад

      @@yftinthyn007 thx for the feedback, you have good points, I will try to find that Chicago auto pros video. The review I was referring was from FAB & Pan talking about Carbon Force, they made the video together, they claimed it was a sheeter.

    • @yftinthyn007
      @yftinthyn007 2 года назад

      @@Exoseven I just took a look back at the first week video for this series and the carbon force seemed to have inconsistent behavior on the top half and bottom half of the square, likely due to variation in application technique (not Scott’s fault as the product should be designed for variables). It looks like the only part hanging on currently is the top half which is now just barely sheeting fast enough to not deem it failed. Kind of goes to show you it is the beading that holds up, not the sheeting.
