For all people watching this video, have in mind that vigilante greathammer is bugged and increases ur defense indefinetely. So if ur gonna run that on warrior you will only be taking damage from afflictions after picking up its legendary variant
Rain of fire spellblade was my favorite play style. When I got to level 41 using your guide, literally nothing could touch me, I was demolishing every enemy in the game with ease, was super fun!
Have to agree on the death caller class. I'm currently playing a mage death caller and it's pretty much just shooting your laserbeam at all times. They have missed the theme of death caller completely imo. It should have some abilities to summon undead to fight by your side or turning dead enemies into your allies. Death caller is more like a life drain kinda class. Too bad. It had a lot of potential on paper
Yea I don't really enjoy minion gameplay but they really missed the mark for people that do in the past two DAs. I wish Reaper was more focused on drain tanking and then Deathcaller was focused on summoning.
It would have been cool if they added a mechanic to debuff on overcharged beam, when enemy killed by sniper beam with the debuff they'd spawn minions of some sort. That'd make the spec a lot more interactive and 10x more fun. With that said i think deathcaller with archon's gaze power should be 10, it clear rooms so much faster than damage capped skill spams.
@@kingduytan I really like that idea actually, bring down the power a little and then make enemies killed spawn little minions is way better then what we have now. I also do agree that power wise it’s faster at killing but I would say there is still room for player error whereas with Spellblade you literally just cannot be so much as scratched after acquiring the right equipment. Actual eyes closed brain completely off gameplay (not that Deathcaller is much harder).
Hey Gael, I have great fun with your Champion build. My Blight Bane burns so much brighter than Elgar'nan's sun in a hot minute when I chuck it in his face.
Great job and thank you so much for making my Veilguard experience so much better. Would love to see you take a crack at Path of Exile 2 and Diablo IV. Maybe even God of War Ragnarok.
I tryd out all of your rogue builds and in the end end up as a “saboteur” with a mix of cordowa tootpick and every ability is a crit on a bleeding target, salz in the wounds + spamming daggers was amazing mix mach So just thank you for the amazing work! Cant wait your new game guides
Yo thanks for the video fam. I’m almost finishing my first play through, and I was trying to find out which other class I should use, my first was with Dualist, so I’ll try something a bit different
I've played Duelist, Spellblade and Slayer and my impressions check out with your list so far. Through reading items and skills during my Slayer playthough, I realized my next run MUST BE the Champion and it seems I was not wrong. Looking forward to it!
On my first playthrough as a dwarven gray warden champion and the lore and combat are both A++. I'll go straight into a second playthrough as a goth Mourn Watch Spellblade and I'm excited that my two subclasses I really wanted to experience are both good ones.
Hell yeah, Champion is incredible! I typically play a necromancer or deathknight class in every RPG that lets me, so I 100% share your disappointment that the "necro" mage spec in this game does no actual necromancy. And while the Reaper is definitely fun and very strong, it also doesn't feel very deathknight-y since you're actually more like a life-leeching Captain America. Sad on both fronts. But absolutely Champion is my #1 as well, it can spec so many ways and be great at all of them!
I started as Veil Ranger because i always like playing Ranger classes but after a while it felt a bit boring and also i struggled with some bosses on Standard difficulty. I then switched to Saboteur and discovered the throwing knifes build actually by myself, also making them critical always. After getting used it was so much fun and i had to increase the difficulty because it became too easy.
I'm hopeful for Evoker and pleasantly surprised about Saboteur! Reaper has been very enjoyable for me so I'm looking forward to Champion. Here's hoping Veil Ranger, Slayer and Death Caller get some love. 💜💛💚
Your biggest gripe with death caller was fun, because you only use the range attack, but then just don’t play it that way. With maw of the black city, the bargain, and last resort, combined with various companion items and enchantments, you can basically constantly cast spells with immense damage output, tons of detonations, and a lot of engagement with the life-mana mechanic. It’s way way more fun than simply spamming the range attack. And you still can do that when you need to or feel like it.
I actually 100% agree up until the last 2. Saboteur is more fun than Champ because I feel like titan stomp and that ground ability are not really 'engaging' abilities. So basically all you're doing is spamming blight bane and square in everyone's face. Shield throws for range I guess but not as effective as sword and the occasional parry up close. Saboteur there's a lot more positioning and bow usage and melee usage and the traps and the engaging ultimate. Maybe it's just me though. Champion is amazing and I feel like if it had one or two better abilities it would be the best. Reaper is the same though, who is doing anything other than using advance and then shield toss to explode.
Thank you for the content. After two playthroughs of DA:V, I decided to do playthroughs of the older games as well. After DA:Origins and currently playing DA:2, I am already missing Veilguard. One of the most underated games I've ever seen.
I agree slayer could have been better but its still a ton of fun jumping in head first into a crown of enemies and hitting multiple with a swing of your greataxe or hammer. Definitely miss greatswords tho 😢
I've played mages first in every Dragon Age game from the beginning. I respecced 4 times in DAV, and I couldn't find a mage build that was actually enjoyable for me to play. I stopped playing mage at level 16, so I might have liked it more if I continued, but I was bored out of my mind. Rogue play through went much better.
Mage feels very bad before level 30ish compared to the other other classes, after that it becomes ok but imo not worth it to deal with the early game when you can just play Rogue or Warrior and feel good the entire time.
Ofc you can play it while spamming abilities, you can with every class in the game. Deathcaller just provides nothing to boost that style of play and Bioware very clearly designed it around the beam, Spellblade and Evoker are just better at spamming if that's what you want, especially Spellblade.
Yeah I agree with the list, especially in the top three as they all are pretty much the best in one respective category. Like a SpellBlade Blast Mage is flat out the strongest build in the game once it’s geared. The amount of damage it pumps out is probably double that of every other specialization in the game besides maybe Reaper Warrior but it has a repetitive gameplay loop of just spamming abilities and being invulnerable due to invisibility frames so you basically cannot die on top of doing by far the most damage.
You get the passive effects of both weapons, the big difference is obviously the combat style. Orb and Dagger is meant for close range, combos and is a little faster pace. Staff is far range and a little slower with less nuance.
@@Red_Gael ah so the stat and passive we got both weapons right? but seems like meteor with orb also can reach very far. question again: why do we need to use void blade when we can spam meteor and arcane shot from range?
Mage in general was the most disappointing class. All the spells are just damage none of them have any other effects like stunning or confusing or freezing or buffing. How do you mess up magic like
And here i was going for duelist on my rogue playthrough.... You have never steered me wrong and i destroyed the game with your one spellblade build so im eccited yo try my hand at some pirates booty fun
I just hate the spell effects, this isn't Dragon Age, it's like some wierd JRPG, you have no idea what's even happening because it's all lightning and massive damage numbers.😢
I agree, if I could only play one class for the entire series it would easily be Rogue but Warriors fought back pretty well in Veilguard, and Mages historically have been the strongest.
*Pls be a joke !! You should change the title to "my personal opinion list"* *Everyone has his own favorite class and u can't change that* For me it's EvoKer, in your evoker build u didn't even make sphere max size to begin with Anyway, using cheat engine it's possible to get extra skill points, u can actually get all the skill tree skills and abilities, so it's possible to use any mage skill and enjoy them all 😏

You absolutely can spam spells, spam detonations, etc. You don’t have to just spam the range attack.
Death Caller, endgame is one of the specs that causes the most damage but it is also an almost infinite laser beam

I'm playing sabateur right now and I'm loving it. I like it more than the Veilranger build.
Deathcaller is meant to be a blood mage class but for some reason they couldn't categorize it that way
