real, i dont cry easily but i always get just a liiiittle bit choked up at the end of side b when heesoo is going through the old tapes

People speculate the deer represents innocence.
The only thing you might have missed is, the fan's name, Ban Heesoo (반희수), is remarkably close in pronunciation to "Bunnies", the name of the NewJeans fandom. She is not just a fan, she is all of us. Ban Heesoo even has "her" own channel that you can visit.

Yep, Haerin thinks she is a cat. Everyone calls her a cat all the time. Even in Ditto, remember "Kitty Kang", and her defending herself "I'm not a cat"?
Danielle is the only one who still has a grasp on the real world (even breaking the fourth wall to demonstrate it)... but just barely ("We're filming a video right now... Aren't we?")
I absolutely loved this twin release, it was not just good music, but conceptually so well thought out.
The only thing i'll add it about the deer. A deer staring at you is often a warning, or a signal for change. Used in many movies, like get out, etc. A deer caught in the headlights ... the deer staring into your eyes ... a metaphor for change or you will get stuck. That's why in ditto the deer only walks away from Heesoo when she lets go of NewJeans (her crutch for her pain by dropping the camera) and starts living in the real world. And OMG is the opposite ... it can happen both ways.
the last scenes for Ditto Side B also made my tears fall out of nowhere. I didn't even realize that I was crying I just felt sad.
Not many groups can change KPop but these girls surely put their influence and at such young career. Their next few songs will also blow your mind.
If you notice that there is also a "sixth" member of Newjeans or what other people say "ghost" in the OMG MV.
she is always sitting in the back left corner seat holding a stuffed bunny doll which can also be represented as "us" the fans, the Bunnies
you can see her during the VERY first scene in the night scene at the hospital (29:30) and multiple times near the end of the MV (you can see her clearly at 37:30).
However, here's the twist, when "she" is not around during the night scene (e.g. 30:00 on the left seat), she is replaced with a teddy bear that symbolizes an "overprotective fan"
(this theory is based on Hyein's fantasy at 33:20). And because the bear (or overprotective fans) are so deep into this "parasocial relationship" thing with their idol, the bear kills the prince AKA Danielle (or princess's lover) at 33:35 which in the process also kills the princess as well AKA Hyein for losing her love life, and at 33:50 we can see Hyein fades away like shes incomplete without the love of the others while staring at a "teddy bear". This is the most common thing that currently happens in the idol world, especially Korean and Japanese idols.
this can also be interpreted that "sometimes overprotective fans do more harm and hurt than good to the people they stan".
so this MV is also about the "duality" of fans, the ghost or the bear... and oh yeah the hater at the very end of the MV.
and also a nice little detail at 31:45 there are TWO Minji's dancing together indicate that Minji still has her split personality disorder, which one is the doctor's personality and the other one is herself.

I feel like most people don’t see it on the first watch, but in the Ditto mvs they’re actually mostly dancing the OMG choreo except for when the chorus comes in
I love your interpretation and how you understand the mv and song well! Both Ditto and OMG have multiple layers of meaning, some in relation to the lyrics of the song others seem to be a comment on idol-fan relationships and the idol industry in general. While Ditto focus on para-social relationship fans engage in with their favorite idols, OMG shows the different projection from fans into idols. Hanni's description of being an iPhone is the most direct reference to this, in my opinion. "Singing for you" or "existing for you" also fit's the way fan-idol relationships are often portrayed.
This made me feel so validated bc I also started crying watching Ditto 😂

There's so many theories on these videos, my favorite is that ditto is about growing up and the struggle of letting go of our childhood, and omg with it's identity issues, I can only imagine how hard it it can be for young idols to keep their true self throughout it all, I love new jeans and their team so much, a positive force for pop music

im so late but this video rlly gets me! i also think its about parasocial relationships and how a lot of fans (mainly kpop fans) live in a fantasy where they are friends with idols, rather than living in reality. it makes me sad because i also am one of those kpop fans. overall i think this is one of the best kpop videos ever its so well thought out

OMG I love your reactions!!!! literally all the other reactors i see watch this think minji is an actual doctor and dani is sane trying to make them remember.... it annoys me so much because i can clearly see minji THINKS shes a doctor and Dani THINKS shes a member of a kpop group called newjeans... other members also feature in each single member psychosis so this makes perfect sense! also adds weight to the fact that newjeans dont appear in most of their videos physically as they have always just been a figment of danis mind :o

This music video have a many perspective (open ending)..
1. About the girl's friendship circle, has 6 member, and 5 of them (new Jeans member) die in a some car accident,, so she (girl with camera is 1 of them who still alive), always hallucinations about she's friends.. that's why she's hand have bandage and she's like have a sad side in her eye.. and that's why, the film she watch in the intro A and ending B it's real. Bcz them is really together in the past time..
2. FAN of them, who Have no friends. It's about relationship between idol and fans. Fans here feeling lonely and looks weird in school,, so she make a imagination about her idol is her friends. New Jeans fandom called Tokki or Bunnies, that's why she box memories name is ban heeso..

Only the parasocial fans/idols relationship theory makes sense. And it's very obvious what they were trying to say with Ditto, OMG only confirms this theory with the MV.

FYI - Minji is not the leader; they don't have one, or any other positions in the group. That is official from the label and from the girls themselves.

In OMG, I believe that everybody expect Danielle to always keep this bubbly attitude of her. Since she doesn't want to show a less joyful image of herself, she forced herself to keep laughing to everything, even the blank noise of a TV.
