I have the same exact setup....I'm wanting to go up a tooth or two on pinions but cannot find any pinions that will work with the hobbywing fusion se and the redcat gen 9.....I was told they are 32pitch and .8 mod but don't understand any of that....my local hobbyshop sold me a arrma .8 mod pinion gear and its MUCH larger like for a larger scale vehicle....can you assist with this?
That video shows 2 main things: 1) calibration of neutral/throttle/brake. Yes - I did that once installed. 2) the motor-ESC internal calibration. That is not required unless there is an issue with driving. It is listed as optional in the manual and used as part of trouble-shooting.
Great overview and info as always Troy!
Thanks Jonnie!
Nice install i like how compact that system is
Agree!! Really hard to beat for the price!
Damn good video !! Well done.
Thank you!
Glad you did a video on this I was thinking about getting this for my new enduro builders kit
For the price, it is hard to beat!
I have been looking at the Fusion Motors for a little while now. I think it might be time to give it a try. Thanks for sharing it Troy. :)
These Fusion SE are a great value/$$$.
Just make sure you get a slightly larger pinion while you are at it.
@@RoadsideRC THanks
This is a good video thanks
Glad it helped!
putting the 2300kv pro in my gen 9, would i need to change receiver to run higher voltage to servo since the servo can take higher voltage?
Nope! Will be fine with the stock receiver.

Here you go: amzn.to/3PBPXln
These will work and give you a few different gearing options.
@@RoadsideRC many thanks!!!!
Ordered one for my gen8. What do you need to do to run the redcat light system on it?
The redcat lightning system plugs into the receiver. No issues with the esc/motor.
What is the battery feature for the Redcat Gen9 Scout 800A?
I'm sorry - what do you mean by battery feature?
@@RoadsideRC The battery that the Redcat Gen9 uses?
@@scalemachinesandtrucks.5016 I typically use this one: amzn.to/3M9Mp83
@@RoadsideRC thanks 👍
I did not see you 'pairing' the motor before actually running it...
Yep - you don't "habe" to do that. Only if you see issues while running.
Servo takes 8.4v
Did you do the motor calibration before you put it in?
The Charlie show episode 292 explains it.

*fully watched🥸Au👍big like for you*💯
Thank you! Cheers!
Is it torquier than the stock setup?
Yes - but not dramatically so.
You going to feild day Saturday
I hope so!
You don’t like the ramping of the throttle that’s what FOC is wow
Correct - I do not like that feature.
Gladly, Hobbywing understands and offers the ability to turn it off. Clearly I am not the only one.
Its why i bought this combo unit and the space saving.
