Yup that's a rattlyboi for you. They're very paranoid about everything. 😆 Can't blame them really. Imagine being him and a big ass hog that you can't see very well comes to you.
Where do you set these encounters up at? It's clearly not in the wild but very cool to see. That snake gave more than ample warning and it shows they aren't as aggressive as a lot of people probably think they are. They just want to be left alone. Cool video!

Thank you. It's always good to hear from you Standing Bear. The feral pig were plundering a rodent nest and eating the rats shortly before encountering the rattlesnake.
My family had a small domestic hog farm back in the late 80's/early 90's before the hog prices tanked and most of the small operations were run out/replaced by the larger operators. We are in timber rattler country. Part of the farm had large rocky outcrops, which is perfect habitat for the snakes, so there was plenty of them about. We had several hogs that were bitten on the heads, limbs, you name it. Never lost a hog to a snakebite though. They would swell up a bit, but would usually be no worse for wear within a few days or a week, unlike with our poor dogs, who had some close calls. My Dad always said venomous snakebites just don't affect the hogs that much. He thought the fat acted as sort of a padded suit. Funny enough, we had more problems with fire ants than we ever had with the rattlesnake bites.
Oh come on piggys!! The 1st two lunges were basically threats. If that was a more wary animal, the may have gone away, but not the piggy. They just keep right on making threat gestures, and the snake backed away enough. Even when it's actually bitten them, the piggys just keep right on munching. Stupid piggys
@@thomasromano9321 That's a good questions, and even the experts don't have a definite answer. They only have 1 vein so killing a pig by snake bites is almost impossible the venom is just stored in there fat like sugar then excreted through there pig feet 😂

No, I don't think that feral pigs are immune to snake venom. But what I've observed, if the rattler bites the pig's face, like shown in my video, there is not enough soft tissue for its fangs to penetrate and deliver enough venom to cause much harm. Now, if the pig gets bitten in its leg, there would be swelling and most likely necrosis development...
