    I did grandmother Ayahuasca for the first time last April of 2023. I followed the diet and didn't purge in anyway and actually had a beautiful experience getting into the deeper healing work.
    Yes, we should all go into a Ayahuasca ceremony with an open heart, love and respect to the sacred medicine.
    Thank you for this video. ❤

    I’ve actually done ceremonies with giving up cannabis and caffeine and without and it has made absolutely no difference in end result of experience. I don’t drink alcohol so can’t speak on that and I don’t eat pork and many of the contraindicated foods but from personal experience I can say cannabis and a little caffeine made no difference. I’ve given both up for months bf and I’ve also had both a day bf ceremony with NO difference so don’t beat yourself up just remain as disciplined as possible. A lot of people haven’t tried it each way so they just repeat what they have been told. My Frd did ceremony with one tribe that used cannabis so it’s not the end of the world. Bonus if you are a reg smoker it’s a great way to stop. Anytime I’ve done ceremony I don’t have a desire for cannabis. So if looking to cut down or quit it’s a great window to do so.

      Thank you so much for your comment! It probably does help a lot that you don't drink alcohol or eat pork - those are two big ones. At the end of the day I think it totally depends on the person (like with anything). I saw some people who were able to have coffee the morning of the ceremony with no issues, and others who are more sensitive and are able to connect better with the medicine when they follow a "stricter" diet. It can definitely be interesting to experiment with it and see what works best for you :)

      Wow, I sincerely appreciate this. I have been a regular cannabis smoker for years, at least twenty-four years so far. I stoped about two months ago in preparation of my upcoming ahyauasca ceremonies scheduled in two weeks. It has been much easier to quit than I expected. So, I will continue to reframe until at least after the ceremonies. No worries there. Altering my diet has been surprisingly easy as well. The only dietary concern is caffeine. I only have one cup a day, but I absolutely LOVE and throughly enjoy that one cup every day. I plan to eliminate that one cup two weeks before my ceremony, and I know it will be difficult. I have eliminated pork and beef for almost two months now and no problems there. I do believe, however that it’s more about the sincere effort of sacrifice rather than what’s sacrificed as a demonstration of respect and honor to the plant medicine and the process. I hope that is the case. Anyway, thanks again for your comment. It truly has provided insight. Please respond to any of this if you can. I can tell it will help me in my continued process and preparation. Much love to you! ❤

      @@darrylsanders6056 Hi Darryl! Thank you so much for the comment and props to you for taking a break from cannabis after 24 years. That's serious dedication! I totally agree with you - more than anything it's about the effort and respect towards the medicine. If you aren't "perfect" with the diet, that's not a problem. And based on what you said, you're probably following it even better than most lol. I myself sometimes had coffee and never had an issue!

    thank you for sharing such important info. yess highly agree with all. the cleaner you eat the more sensitive you become to everything. am vegan for almost 2 decades, alcohol never been on my list nor weed. coffee ive recently quit and also am not fond of any processed vegan food such as fake meat and fake cheese. Sugar ive started to cut out for about 2 weeks and i feel so much better. i dont have any planned date for a plant medicine session but in my heart i ve already connected to the plant. soo i got a crazy beautiful dream at the other day with the plant in my dream working with me. It was so clear that ayahuaska came in to start opening up closed down areas in me, ive never had a dream similar to this one even tho am deep into my dreams, it is one of my fav places i like to go to. Great video, Danielle. You seem like such a kind and nurturing soul, just spreading your light to help guide others towards their own. I was waiting for you to bring light to the fact that the dieta isn't just about removing toxins, and approaching the ceremony with a more purified physical body. But on a deeper level, it is about proving to the spirit of Ayahuasca, that one is willing to surrender the foods they love, for ones that she prefers. I am so happy you brought this up, because so many others do not discuss this, and I think it is an important factor to bring the the stage and share so that people can begin respecting her prior to her entering ones consciousness. I find so many people struggle with that, but if they knew it was based around respect, it may instill more discipline to continue the dieta with less struggle. The dieta is hard, but phew, the withholding the sexual urges, that's the biggest struggle for many, and myself. Anyhow, this is becoming a novel. Keep spreading your love and light. This channel is destined to grow. Thank you for all of your videos thus far!

      Oh my goodness what an amazing and uplifting comment. Thank you so much Jadon ❤What you said it so true. Oftentimes people just think of the diet as being about a physical detox, when it goes so much deeper than that. It really is about showing respect to the medicine and proving to her that we are dedicated to playing a part in our own healing. And yes lol it was always interesting to hear about people's struggles with sexual energy during this time 😆 That and coffee were the big ones lol. Anyway, I so appreciate your genuine message and thank you for being part of this growing community. Let me know if you'd like to see any videos in particular!!

      @@daniellerateau You are so kindly welcome, Danielle! Well deserved compliments and praise. I’m fortunate enough to not be a coffee drinker, so I lucked out on not having to endure, what I imagine, a rough small mental detox for some. I’ve seen people outwardly rage because their coffee wasn’t made as soon as they got up. It was intense.
      Sex and coffee. The two bugaboos.

    • @daniellerateau
      @daniellerateau  4 месяца назад

      Hi there! Honestly, some beans and tofu the week before should be ok. Just eat as clean as possible, and if you're already vegan you'll be great! I don't have a video on the number of ceremonies but within a week period, 3-4 is pretty normal and a good amount, in my opinion. The nice thing is, if you feel like you need a break you can always sit in ceremony but not drink the medicine, or just have a really small amount to connect ❤️

      The tyramine thing is super interesting...this is one that I've seen vary a lot among different retreat centers and traditions. Some centers avoid all animal products and any foods with tyramine, while I've seen others that serve fish & chicken, bananas, avocado, nuts and seeds, etc. Personally, I ate plenty of nuts, seeds, and fish and never had any issues (and neither did any of the guests). Best to avoid the aged cheese, processed meat, fermented veggies, and of course alcohol :)

      Definitely depends on the setting! The Shipibo shamans actually consider the tobacco plant to be another type of plant medicine and they use Mapacho (sacred tobacco) in ceremonies. It can be a protective spirit in that kind of setting. I just think it's important that it's not abused/used too much, as I've seen people basically get addicted and use it like a cigarette.

      Hi there! Fermented foods contain tyramine. Since ayahuasca is an MAO-inhibitor, it temporarily inhibits the activation of the monoamine oxidase (MAO).
