Gripen C and the F-15s are old acquaintances. During Loyal Arrow in Sweden, 3 F-15C’s from the USAF were intercepted by a Gripen acting as an aggressor. The result was 2 F-15’s shot down and one managed to escape due to better thrust/weight. Since 2006, Gripen has not lost against the F-15, the F-16 or the F-18 ever!
Correction; the Rswaf Gripens, according to 2nd hand sources, game up against Norwegian F16s in the later 2000s. My source say 2 Gripens, other reliable sources say 3, sent up against 5 F16s. The score, in three rounds where 5-0, 5-0 and 4-1 for the Gripens. So Rswaf lost one...
Choosing the Gripen was a smart choice by Brazil, giving a big boost to local aviation industry in technological know how and design philosophy. Gripen is a beautiful aircraft in more ways than one. Gripen E can connect and fuse their sensors to detect even F35 long before f35 can see the gripen and long before they are within range with their aging amraams.
@@shaggings US doesnt operate Meteor. Maybe finland and Norway will use it with their F35. But Gripen will still be able to track the F35 further away than the F35 can track the Gripen so the Gripen will have a huge lead when it can fire their Meteor and fallback to defend. The sensor fusion and datalink of the E model is just leaps and bounds better than what any other aircraft are currently fielding.

We would love to do just that. I think it is the Ukrainians that have said that they prefer the F16. Possible reasons could be that the F16 is superior to the Russian aircrafts anyway, that they can get F16s from many countries and that they may have trouble handling too many different systems. But I agree, it would be nice to see the Gripen in Ukraine!
@ . The statement made in the video by the narrator was that this was the first time Gripen was in simulated combat, which isn’t true. In this case the correct statement would be that this was the first time Brazilian pilots were in simulated combat flying Gripen E.

Saab has delivered 3 Gripen E test versions for evaluation and from 2025 the plan is for the DMA to star delivering Gripen E, or JAS 39E the Swedish designation, to the Swedish Air Force.

According to F15 pilot they said they shot down 5 Gripen E
The Gripen is a highly capable and very beautiful aircraft. Thanks for this video.👏🏻

Portuguese?

The Jas 39 of all kinds uses peacetime settings in all exercises so the capabilities of the fighters radar was restricted.

Fun tidbit: Gripen have a peace/war switch. When switched to "war" limits in prestanda are removed.
Gripens have been at Red Flag several times since 2006..!
Gripen E. New version.
@immo1974 Gripen C was second best at Red Flag in 2013, Gripen E is superior to Gripen C. So Gripen E performs just as expected...

Which F15 model are we comparing here?
The standard F15 was built in 1976 where as the Gripen was built in 1998?!
Gripen first flight was 1988, i don't USA going to roll a plane from 1976 tbh
These F-15C fighters have been modernized with AESA radars, IRST and new communications systems.
@@kamma44 first flight 1988...
F15EX is not from 1976
That was the first version of Gripen, there is not a single Gripen of that version left.
the Gripen E is the 3rd version.
There is always next level cool shit going on, but Gripen would be the X-wing in Star wars.
We did send the only 2 awaks recon plane
Ukraine should purchase Gripen E fighters for their next fighter plane since they can be launched from country roads.
Old Gripen won over Chinese plane in training too!😊
give some to Ukraine !
