@@I_dunno_man_but Still, it is flying fairly high altitude, fast, and have good radar. Equally important to have good chance to escape as to be able to take others down.
Not an expert but a Gripen with full war load will not reach that top speed. F-35 is capable of carrying load internally, thus no drag.I think Gripen is a good choice, relatively low cost. They say it is pilot friendly. I think there is a reason that Denmark, Finland and Norway go for the F-35-
You should see a battle take off using the afterburner. That is impressive. It can take of from a carrier without using the whole runway and go straight up and after 10 seconds you cant see the plane.
Damn beautiful. These would be great escort planes to Finnish F-35 fighters. Or Hornets, for that matter. Swedes sure can build some VERY impressive war machines. Gripen, Archer, A26 submarine. Finland should definitely get some Archers, maybe 2-4 A26 Blekinge with 18 Tomahawks and AUVs.
Finland got a great deal on the purchase price of its F-35's (I have no data about maintenance costs though). I understand that Norway is a bit upset about it as they paid a lot (understatement) more for theirs.
@@RobertClaeson The thing people don't understand when talking about purchasing millitary equipment is all the economics that goes on behind the scene. Yes, Norway payed more per plane on paper. But the US in turn committed to spending A LOT on Norwegian weapons and technology, and implement that tech into the F35 program. Norway also got their first F35's in 2015, that will be a decade before Finland get theirs. Buying into new tech early is obviously more expensive than buying tech that has been out for decade(s).

You could keep 3 Gripen on call for the cost of 1 F35, and then You would always have at least one in the air, one at target and one returning, with Swedish tech this one will be up in the air within 10 minutes, and where are Your solo F35, flying to? From? Or on target, once they leave the enemy knows that there will be no more visits from that plane that day. And as the Gripen has a third of the cost for flying, the pilots will have more hours in real aircrafts than the AF pilots with the F35. The question is, which pilot will be the best, the one with real flying experience or those who are more trained in simulators?
Truth be told the swedish airforce has been simulator jockeys most of the time due to fuel costs but due to developments lately more funds are being avalible.

No, the afterburner was working correctly. The pilot was completing a dump and burn maneuver. While inverted, fuel was released from a dump valve at the back of the plane and when the afterburner was lit, it ignites the fuel creating a fireball. It is done for show.

@@I_dunno_man_but But ability escape..
@@jorgenpersson1193 all im saying is that top speed is not a Good way to define a fighters capability.
That sounds pretty amazing.
Beer waiting for the pilot. Stunning.
AWESOME demo - awesome plane!
Ari, don't forget our anti tank weapons. Just sent another 5000 pcs to Ukraine. They (among others) say they love them. Go Suomi, go.
@@RobertClaeson Hold them horses - Norway can pay!

What a pilot and what a plane
An excellent Grpen fighter with an excellent Hungarian fighter pilot.
Awesome video and display!I 've never seen this type of jet.
Thank you very much!
Awesome! 👍🇳🇿
Impressive maneuverability indeed.
*Thank you.*

Wow, talk about impressing flying🤘☀️
I am proud to be a Swede when I see this in the air...
Not otherwise? Can't be often then...
@@ringostarwars4155 I didn't say that... I am proud to be a Swede for many reasons, that's just one of them.
Magnificent
Wow,that Hungarian pilot is something else.😮
Great high energy display.
And this isn’t the later version!!!
Good on you Hungarian pilots!!!
WHich means it hasn't been ruined by shitty american parts
That is ONE MEAN MACHINE!!👏👏
@Weezer Mungo You wish, but we may see in next redflag when the Gripen is in the game. 😋
@Weezer Mungo As they has not been engaged yet, we will se the outcome. 2007 the Gripen was there, they had an availability to 98% the 2% was a return of they pilot who was the mission leader and he stepped down. No downtime due to technical problems. As always 3 to one is always better. And You need to protect Your AWACS, what do You do without them. The Swedes has always prepared for a war with a superior force, there for the tactics may be to our favor. Last war an USAF aircraft war against a peer power was in Korea, 70 years ago. Since then the foes has been underdeveloped countries. Easy to win against.
Always the best display aircraft at air shows…..what a plane
That was sick! 👏
Yepp, thats the best demo iv'e seen in my whole life, and iv'e seen one so far
Wow im jealous me and my camera wasnt there to take pics of this brilliant display the gripen is always a crowd pleaser but this takes the cake 😍
That is a little beast!!!
Hats off for the swedish airforce; the best one in the far north
Thou this was the Hungarian airforce with a Swedish plane. Just sayin ;)
Óriási volt, minden pillanatát érzem még🤩 Remélem jövőre láthatjuk újra!
That was a fantastic display 🤩 I hope we will see it again next year🥳
Thank you and let's hope so!
Time 4:00 neg G inverted turn!!??
We Need loads of these NOW
Bad ass...the toughest display I have ever seen...Hungarian pilots seems to be superhuman...I get blood taste in my mouth by just watching....
That's some good flying ..
3:49 Did it have problem lighting its afterburner while inverted? Never seen "fire" out of the Gripen before, only diamonds
No, the afterburner was working correctly. The pilot was completing a dump and burn maneuver. While inverted, fuel was released from a dump valve at the back of the plane and when the afterburner was lit, it ignites the fuel creating a fireball. It is done for show.
As a Filipino, I am hoping that our government chose the Gripen C/D over the F-16 Viper. Since the previous Duterte admin approved the MRF project last June, I just hope the current Marcos admin gave it a funding a choose the Gripen C/D because it is the one that suits our military budget and fits right into our defensive/guerilla warfare doctrine.
My Cat wants to become a Pilot after watching.
