I was the friend standing by the camera for most of this video. The dogs featured are my girls. Topsail is a wonderful place to visit. I am honored that they dedicated this video to my late husband.
There’s a Topsail Beach (and Topsail Road) in Newfoundland as well. If you haven’t been to Newfoundland yet, please do. It’s worth it! And such a unique part of Canada, instead of Toronto. Anyway, it’s definitely Top-Sil. Pronouncing it as TopSAIL, we’ll all look at you like you have ten heads 😆
I live here in NC and still refuse to pronounce it topsal. I will forever say the word the correct way and nobody will stop me. The coast of NC is beautiful.
None of these are real don'ts, just your personal opinion. It's spelled Topsail, So I'm going to say it right. Not Topsill. And there is no locals on that island.. Just overly rich people who feel entitled and have passed down their Beach home from one generation to the next.
Note to Mrs. Wolters: dial back the attitude, dear. You came across as snooty, not funny or charming. Your husband’s approach is great. Yours? Not so much…..

We’ve owned a place in Surf City since 1999, found the island because it is dog friendly. The sea turtle rescue is fabulous!
