Hello Junkyard, sorry for the bad experience of using the NITECORE product. From your video, I think the TINI2 need to be repaired for some reasons. Would you mind contacting via email? We would like to get the product repaired or replaced for you. Thank you.
I have the Nitecore HA20 for years and the top rubber piece came of. Good response time and replaced my headlight. Looking at one of the keychain lights for EDC and glad to see responding to folks on the socials.
Alegra ver la responsabilidad de Nitecore, la verdad si la compraré pero la tup que se ve que es más potente
Can I get mine repaired too?
Legend
Very nice catch by Nitecore, I don't know how they came here, but they did and seem to be keen to fix the problem. I measure manufacturers/sellers not by not ever being wrong or making a mistake, but rather by how they correct problems when they occur. Those who say "we never make mistakes" or "our product never fails" either are just stupid or they are lying their a$$ off.
Had mine well over a year and never experienced any problems BUT your in "demo" mode. Demo mode turns off the light automatically after 30 seconds to preserve the battery at the store so they aren't selling dead units. Your display should say "Daily." To disable demo mode make sure it isn't in lockout modes, when the light is on/off, long press both the Power Button and the Mode Button simultaneously to switch between DEMO and DAILY Mode. The LED will flash to indicate the current user mode: 1 flash to indicate DEMO Mode and 2 flashes to indicate DAILY Mode.
I've got 2 of these. Had them both for around 18months. Use them most days and dropped them both on concrete a few times. All good, still working perfectly.
Great review. And thank you for the warning and the truthfulness. Talking about getting With gear is just as important as talking about bad experiences with gear.
I've had the same problem with their Tiki flashlights.... wondering if it has to do with being dropped from a normal waist level height but with the additional weight of keys/Keychain- im thinking they drop tested both these products alone, without the additional weight of keys and a keychain... which unfortunately does make it a fail for me... switched to the thrunight BSS W1 per your recommendation... and never looking back
My light brand of choice is Fenix. The main reason, extremely great customer service. On several occasions lights have stopped working properly (all times were my fault) customer service got back to me in a timely manner and repaired or replaced the broken light.
Seems like water damage through the charging port. Maybe condensation built up on it and it got charged while still cold?
THANKS for a HONEST review!!😁✊🔥
I've just had the same issue with my Tini2 Ti exactly 1 year and a week after I purchased it. Were you able to get your Tini2 repaired?
Recently mine started staying locked when in lock mode 2. The only way to get it working again is to plug in a charger. I love the light, but any light that doesn't work when you need it isn't a light at all.
Same problem. When it is locked in 1, I figured I need to press the turbo then press the switch on 2x, then it will lit. But when it is locked in 2, the only way to unlock it is to hook it in usb c charger. That is why, when i am out, i lock it only in 1, so there is still a way to unlock it
That is pretty strange huh, I've always loved their ingenuity and really wanted a Nitecore, but in all the fray have never gotten around to getting one. Only ever heard great things about them, but this bug and especially them not replying to you in a month about it is a bit concerning.. let us know if you hear a follow up from them! Thanks man ✊
Thank you for your video. I experienced the same issue, I noticed that the new one I bought has a smaller batter, but the same spec. I think the battery got hot and expanded, then the top Mode button does not reset properly and there is not a good solid click. I did try and get warranty, and after 3 weeks they got back to me. Then they asked for my warranty card, and even though I provided them an Amazon receipt and the model and serial number, they would not provide me any service.
I had the same light, but I crushed it in my bag, so I bent it straight, and not the frame fits. I have the click on the mode button and no longer have those issues.
i got 2 titanium edition and the 2nd day 1 failed to work only display worked the other stopped at 2nd day, returned both for new ones after 2 weeks never droped they had same problem u had. i contacted nitecore and never responded.
Bought a Nitecore flashlight a few years back. Actually threw it in the garbage. It was a $100 light that was just always dead when i pulled it out to use. Just ordered the Tini 2 because I love the tech. Giving them a second chance and hoping for the best
The Nitecore NU25 headlamp is already that same size. I replaced the headband with some 1/32" stretch cord and now its even tinier! It beats my expensive Petzel headlamps in EVERY category....Battery life, useful features, brightness levels, size, weight, ect. Its hands down the best ultralight headlamp on the market (once you replace the head strap with 1/32" stretch cord). I keep one in my work pack and another 2 more in my 2 hike packs. I cant say enough good things about the NU25 model. Ive been using them almost daily for the last 3 years.
Good video & thanks for letting us know.
Owned mine for a bit over 2 years, barely use just attached to second set of car key in pocket. Recently, 500 lumen came on in first lock mode in my pocket-realize when my thigh felt warm. Pressed to shut off but 500 lumen comes back on after less than a second. Now sometimes just slight touch of finger turns on 500lumen and then sometimes work normal. Afraid now to carry in pocket.
I just ordered one, and I'm curious about the timeline of events. @0:38 you said, "I have debated for weeks whether I should make this video or just quietly speak to the company..."
and @8:03 you said you e-mailed them about the problem approx a month earlier. I'm not English-speaking by birth so I may just get it wrong, but can you explain?
I had exactly the same problem with the flashlight, Nitecore immediately sent me the money back
I’ve got 2 torches 🔦 ledlenser P3 and Olight I5T eos. I’m having inconsistencies with the Olight and it’s to do with the setting change between 25 lumins and 300. You are supposed to to 2 light presses of the button to change but if I havnt used it for a few days and try the button press thingy, it won’t work until I’ve done a full press and off again and then it works. I spent £30 and it should be this inconsistent. I love the LEDlenser better because it hasn’t got the multi press nonsense. You just simply slide the front forward and it zooms the light. It’s nowhere near as bright as the Olight but it has a beautiful quality to the light.
Thanks for this. I did saw a video of a teardown for the Tini2. I was surprised it was not using the normal PCB but using flex material for its circuit. I believe the flex board caused this possibly due to heat or something else.
I like it to. Hope it got resolved.
Have you tried an Aurora a1 ? I've had mine for awhile and no issues yet
My rovyvon broke and I received a pretty bad customer service. 😕
That’s strange, I have my tini 2 for almost a year now, used it daily for work on my retractable keychain fastened to my working trousers and it never failed me. I even busted the screen, months ago, became severely wet regularly, I’ve abused this thing, the symbols on the buttons even disappeared, but this thing works. I freaking love this thing, and all though my work is somewhat though and stressful, I use it everyday with a smile on my face. So I’m astonished to read that you don’t like it, I’m sure it’s broken and you need to give a manufacturer the chance to correct their production faults.
Its in Demo Mode, its going to turn off about 30 seconds automatically. Take it off demo mode, then the light will stay on, till you either turn it off, or the battery dies.
i have a similar problem, i know that the buttons get pressed in my pocket. so maybe its goning into other modes. so today i am resin gluing a garde around the outside protecting the from accidental pressing in pocket.
Thanks for the video. Don't look at yourself when you film yourself. When you move and look at the screen, it is clear that you are analyzing yourself. A lot of people do this and it's not a good look.
Just sharing from experience.
The light has 2 lockouts, with first allowing turbo without unlocking, and the second is a total lock with no turbo or other levels without unlocking, and the locks are labeled 1 and 2.
You are so right he needs to back back and read his owners manual. He has it stuck between lock modes and he needs to try and unlock it than try it. 😊
Mine just failed too - everything appears to be working (screen, charging, menu) other than the LED's no longer illuminate
My first few months using this had no problem. Eventually, it needed several tries to unlock it. When it is locked in 1, I figured I need to press the turbo once followed instantly by 2 successive power on, then it will unlock. But when you lock it in 2, even after several tries, it will not unlock. The only way to unlock from 2 is to connect it to the usb c charger. That is why, when I am not near usb charger, when I am out, I can only lock it in 1. I contacted NiteCore and they replaced it with a new one. I hope there is a way to like factory reset this. I want to love it but if it doesn’t deliver when you need, if it’s not reliable in times you need it, it’s nonsense
Iv almost made it threw all of your videos I'ma keep looking and makeing sure I'm not missing any haha
I have had issues with some of their normal flashlight switches. My TIP2 has not had any issues.
Good to know
For $40, u expect more
I'm using rechargeable Wowtac flashlights n headlamps... Have u tried them?
Yes I have, theyre pretty good
Bummer bought one last yr for my niece along with a keychain knife pimped out with titanium everything etc her light is still kicking though
You double checked to make sure it’s not in demo mode right?
The switch seems to be working fine, so it’s an internal issue. So if Nitecore reads these comments.....they send a light for testing, then when there is an issue they don’t respond to the problem. Makes me want to buy Fenix or OLight. Thanks for telling us the truth James 👍
Well glad I didn't grab one yet. Maybe I'll wait until V2 comes out
Things fall sometime its to bad , looks like a nice flash light
It was already in my cart and about to order it but thankfully i saw this video. Deleted from the cart.
my original tini had battery problem and I wanted to buy v tini 2 but now I am not sure
I had a nitecore bike light, and it went dead rather soon after buying it. Nitecore has awesome designs, but their qc is lacking
Maybe it was moisture from sweat?, if it’s in your pocket and your sweating it’s a possibility that moisture gathered under the screen? Idk just a guess.
Had exact same issue with 2 of them. 1 got replaced under warranty. 2nd 1 died just after 2 yrs
i had the same issue with my previous TINI2, but mine wasnt working at moonlight mode. Not a big deal, but i lost that light due to the keychain screw on the light got loose. My second TINI2 however, stopped working unless i press hard on the top of the light body, which is near the bulb. Would not recommend this light due to the bad quality.
Where can i find a hat similar to yours
Look in the Description
It's listed in there
I would be sad. My is working awesomely
You're not the only one. My nitecore TINI failed me with a very similar behavior. Now it's dead completely. It only lights up when it's in the recharging mode. i.e. attached to the micro USB cord. So I'm guessing it's a battery issue. In addition, my nitecore TIP SE also started to malfunction in less than a year time from my purchasing of it. I am enjoying the nitecore normal-size torch with 3400 mAh rechargeable battery, so it seems that they're facing some real quality control challenges with their smaller scale products.
Just like you, I'd really want to love them.
Bought mine second hand and used it legit everyday since for over a year without issues and dropped it quite a lot so luckily guess it’s just fluke with yours
the light failing is bad enough but for Nitecore not replying to you is even worse, warranties are ok if the company gets back to you to make things right
I also had micro switch failure. They should use a better quality switch. I am buying the Lumitop Frog now.
I don't think it's the switch in his case, @2:40 the display indicates that the switch works as it should but the light just doesn't turn on
Looks to me like the solder for the power going to the leds may have come loose. Unfortunately there are lemons in the world I had a brand new car that was a lemon every 8 to 12 months I had to take it in to have the clutches changed in the automatic transmission (2014 focus $22,000). So lemons exist at all price points just part of life, humans are imperfect and so are the things we make.
Think I'm going to go for the fenix e03
Great, now you got a bunch of people in the comments spreading FUD. Some people need to get a life.
outside of user error damage, which is not covered under warranty, You should be to contact the company and get a repair or replacement. Defects happen.
I’ve have nothing but problems out of nitecore. 7 lights have failed within a year and their i4 charger just failed me last week. I will absolutely never buy another Nitecore product. Lumintop is another light to stay away from. Fenix Olight and Skilhunt have been great and I’ll stick with them
Absolutely love my Lumintops! I'm curious which ones you've used and how they failed you
I had the same problem. Olight works much better.
✌🏻🇩🇪
Having gear that is inconscient is fustrating, but having poor customer service and companies that don't stand behind their products is even worse.
Glad i saw this video. I almost bought one. Junk
I had an issue with the "lock 2" function. The unlock procedure didn't work after a night of rest. In a desperate measure, I plugged it into the charger (it was over 90% charged) just to see if it would help. It did. I was able to unlock the buttons using the unlock procedure. Makes me worry if I can rely on this or not.
i own the 1st gen Tini and the battery is done. 1.5-2 years is not reasonable for a li-ion battery, even a tiny one.
on Tip the plastic clip broke under normal usage.
Good videos. Peace be with you.🙏
Apologizes.
Out of my 3 Nitecore Tubes only 1 of it did last a year the 2 failed before 6 months that's why I'm hesitant to buy Nitecore products now.
RodsofGod posted what I thought was a good answer to your problem. And I going to add to his. You don’t know how to use it it’s not that hard to figure it out if you read the manual or go to another channel and watch their video on how to use it. You have it in a lock mode but which one do you one or two?? But you keep pushing the buttons confusing it all the more. I have had mine over two years and it has done what yours is one time than I went to a channel the guy explained how to use it. Sense that I haven’t had any issues. Your giving very good light a bad rap. I used mine professionally as a back light while on SAR Missions.
You are on demo mode. It only light for 30 sec.
Put it on Daily mode that could fix it
Honestly I haven’t been impressed with any of the flashlights I’ve purchased the last few years . I’ve been disappointed with the 3 out of 4 Olights , and 2 out of three Nebo’s I’ve purchased . Inaccurate run times and poor battery life seem to be the norm . Back to Maglite I guess .
Absolutely nothing wrong with Maglite
I got a 10 ur old Maglite
Still works fine
They have a 5 year warranty, just send it in and they'll fix it or replace it.
what prolly happbend is in your pocket it remained on for a long time these get super hot they over drive them i have the 65 dollar one it was on turbo for the full battery meaning 40 minutes it burined the plastic lens destroyed the oled its hard to read this is why from now on i number 2 lock the thing no matter what even if i need to blind someone like a robber or something i just lock it because it also destroyed a keyfob so they over drive the led so the mosfet that turns it on is probably over heated or the button was destroyed beghind the button because of the heat.. so advice to everyone number 2 lock it out when in your pocket number 1 only does the small modes turbo will still work.. so thats my advice they are good lights but wayyy to hot
Thanks for the warning and I am pretty sure you did nothing wrong. The light is expensive and should always work if the casing is intact. This light works intermittently and that suggests a cracked 'track' on the flexible circuit 'board'. The track was probably cracked at the factory but made contact well enough to pass their tests. After you used it a few times the heat of normal use caused the tracks to expand and contract and the broken surface oxidized. Copper oxide is a poor conductor and that is most likely why your light has an intermittent fault now. I hope that Nightcore will replace the light for you.
try daily mode instead of demo
oh also put it on demo mode it turns off after 30 seconds
Yeah I bought one and it won’t go to 500 lumens and I also bought as TIP SE and it won’t go to 700 lumens
Hey champ
Return it go to there website and it will show you how to return for fix it replace they will more like do so, did that with a head lamp from a different company and they got back with me but then again corona has slowed down some companies in response time so have some patience 👍👌✌️🇺🇸
It's only March
An LCD on a mini key chain flashlight?! Maaaaaan... Junkyard Fox a tech gizmo junky? Whod'a thunk. ;-)
A mini flashlight on a key chain can be handy. Another option, i've got an Inova Nite Ize MLSA on my key ring, found at an REI store, had for about 7 years, still works fine. Has three settings, high, low, blink (which is probably 2 more settings than you'll ever really need). Replaceable batteries, changed mine once. Cool factor swipe to turn on, cycle through settings. Not super bright but plenty good enough if you're trying to find something you dropped on your vehicle's floor at night, got home late at night and the door light isn't on or maybe need to find something in the tent while camping and you don't want to completely trash your night vision (they make one with a red LED too). Case is semi-transparent and comes in different colors but they don't seem to have the smoke grey version any more. In the $10 - $12 range. i've given them as gifts. Doing a quick web search before posting, they appear to be getting hard to find. Amazon's got a handful left at this time.
Return to customer service department!
Why not try a new battery?
Bro try a diffrent new battery!
It's a lithium ion battery I assume, and not technically removable. But that's just my guess... Otherwise you'd have to replace it every day (or hour!) if you run it on 200 or 500 lumens

Ughhhh 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Your not using it properly.
I did, it was malfunctioning. Shortly after this video, it stopped charging entirely.
Only got through 1/3 of this video. The sexist talk is too much, dude.
