"Everybody’s Work" uncovers the pervasive issue of racism in healthcare, revealing its harmful effects on patients and nurses alike. Through the courageous stories of nurses and patients of color across the country, this documentary challenges the belief that racism only exists if personally experienced. It urges us to confront the reality that it impacts us all.
Nurses, as trusted healthcare leaders, have the power to dismantle racial biases and promote equitable care. By fostering inclusive practices and advocating for change, they can pave the way for a healthier future. But this film also serves as a rallying cry, reminding us that healing from racism in healthcare is a collective responsibility that transcends individual professions and identities. It's everybody's work.
SHIFT is a community for nurses to listen, read, laugh, cry, think and talk about big issues - together. We believe in the power of community because we know that you (yes, YOU) can shape the future of nursing. But none of us can do it alone.
SHIFT is supported by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

This is exactly the film we need right now! THANK YOU to Chad and Crown Street for taking on this documentary project and for passing the mic to these everyday heroes. And a deeply heartfelt thank you to all the nurses who are putting their voices out there, telling it like is (like it HAS been), and doing the critical work every day of making this a more equitable world, all while caring for countless human beings. Bravo! I can’t wait to watch!

One of my daughters is in nursing school and she experiences so much racism “discrimination”it pisses me off! Cold part nothing is done when reported because they look out for each other.

The last sentence-Nothing is done when reported because they look out for each other is why cultural discrimination continues.

Being a male ( the vast minority in nursing) isn’t exactly easy in nursing, and only one male was represented in this commercial. I guess white males don’t feel any of this prejudice in nursing….
