This is Really kool ,I was thinking the other day about using seat belt material , seems your sewing machine really high strung, but you got it tho. Thanks for the video.
Great video!!!! Only thing I don't agree with is that saddle hunting isn't comfortable. It's comfortable for me i fall asleep all the time and have gotten rid of all other stands.
Hello, thanks for sharing. Please tell me how you feel about using it. The size of the panels is fine, or it would be better to change them. I'm built like you, and I'm going to sew a saddle
I think you've done great job! I have a couple of questions though. How did you determine length of seatbelt material, and how much space in between the panels? Also, when did you put the tubular webbing on? In the layout shot I don't see it on there. I can't figure out how you laid it out like that but then got the tubular webbing on. The seatbelt material looks continuous, is it in multiple pieces?
To find your length of seatbelt material it is best to pin the webbing together with actual pins or binder clips and test fit that to your body size. There are (2) pieces of the 2" webbing the outer loop and the inner loop. Just thread the pieces of 2" webbing through the tubular before you sew the belts onto the panels.
Sorry I don't have a pattern available. I tried to show the layout of the material with a ruler and referenced my waist size. You should be able to take some screen shots and work from that.
How tall are your panels? Did you make your webbing loops first to get a pattern then cut or just started with the panels first? Trying to eye ball your method
We are really interested in saddle hunting but not the price point. I have a commercial sowing machine & wondering if you have a materials list somewhere ?
The two panels are made with 500d cordura. The main Loops are made with 2" seatbelt webbing (6000 lb rated). The linemans loops are made with 1" polyester webbing (3000 lb rated). When you say commercial machine are you talking a small home model? If so it will be difficult to sew through the multiple layers of webbing.
Very Carefully. I tri folded the first piece and ran it through, and then used a wire splicing tool and pulled the second piece through the first making sure it stayed inside the folds of the first piece.

Very nice video and an awesome looking method clone!
Very nice work man!
Hey do you happen to have a materials list and plans I could buy from you?
Thanks for sharing, your work is impressive. What kind of thread injector is that?
Thank you! the machine is a Chicon 563 (taiwanese clone of a Juki LU-563)

Nice job, looks great. Do you have a pattern for the panels that you can share? I am interested in building my own saddle.

@@fletchdeeptv1958 ok thanks
What sewing machine did you use?
How tall are your panels? Did you make your webbing loops first to get a pattern then cut or just started with the panels first? Trying to eye ball your method
I started with the panels, I believe the top panel was around 6" tall and the bottom panel was maybe 9 or 10".
Do you have any patterns?
What is the length of the 2 pieces of 2 inch webbing used for the inner and outer circle?
You need to size those for your individual body size. Just use binder clips to hold them together while you find the length you want
Where all did you get your materials from?

No it’s actually a commercial singer machine not a home machine.
What kind of thread did you use?
#92 bonded polyester thread
How did you get 2 pieces of 2 inch seatbelt webbing through 1 inch tubular webbing and keep it all even?
Very Carefully. I tri folded the first piece and ran it through, and then used a wire splicing tool and pulled the second piece through the first making sure it stayed inside the folds of the first piece.
It hard and annoying trying to hear what you are saying while that unnecessary music is playing.
