Love the video! Instead of straps you could use rope. You could add a piece of wood 2” x 24” and have it hooked above your head so the rope won’t have a tendency to pinch your legs. It would be the same length as the seat board.
Man people can say what they want I definitely would have some harness on in that, but man you should have patented the fork on that before they came out with the jx3 hybrid saddle. You had a brilliant idea should patented that. Pretty sure they robbed you
I do wear a second linesman rope, but because the seat has two independant straps the chance of both failing is not likely. The straps run under the plywood so if the plywood cracked or split you are still safe.
I’m a female saddle hunter and I use a tethrd mantis. It’s okay, but it has the tends to ride up in the back and it feels like I’ll slip out of it so I’m constantly adjusting in the tree- whx defeats the point of being motionless.. I’m curious about trying this idea tho I would definitely need a linesman rope. So the bosun chair uses two straps? I have a safety harness from a lone wolf stand that I could adopt- your not concerned about having it flip on you?
because the straps are spead out it doesnt tilt. I can sit on the back edge and it is rock steady. a srap across the lower back is nice for comfort and actually attaching it to you . try it , it is cheap and safe.
You could also put a spreader board above your legs and this would make the rope or straps go straight up from the seat and not pinch your legs. This spreader could be quite narrow to keep the weight down. Maybe 1 1/2” - 2” wide
This is friggin brilliant. Thanks for the video! Awesome
Awesome. Mine will have a 2x2 between my legs attached at one end to a hinge when i back up the 2x2 will swing down and out of the way
Works great for me
If I'm not using my (saddle stand). I'm in my bosun. I don't use a whale tail though. Love it! Cool dude, Thanks.
Thanks!

Love this and came from the mobile hunting group.
Never heard of them and couldn't find any videos of them. I've been using a bosun for decades. Thought I was alone.
Thanks for sharing Don.
thank you for watching !
try it again. Have somebody do the photography
My First one ! can you tell , lol
this is an awesome set up man! you should do a video of u building one!!

I like this system of facing the tree. Have you had any problems with deer spotting you when they're sneaking from behind you
dont even know Im there., lol
I would suggest wearing a second safety harness just in case you're diy setup fails. Better safe than sorry or dead.

Why couldn’t you use one rope instead of straps? You could also put your back against the tree.

This would be like a swing then!
It shouldn’t flip because you are sitting on it. It would be like a swing you might have had as a kid.
Dan you better put a patent on this seat part that is
