This is the best advice I've ever heard about school and work ethic. I am treating my degree as a job and it's going so much better. It's something I *want* to do rather than something I *have* to do.

Honestly, these tips are so helpful, and they go above and beyond the classroom! Absolutely love it! I love how you were so passionate when speaking about investing in yourself and your education! It honestly blew my mind away because I never considered being a full time student as a job! I agree with you 100%. If we're willing to bend backwards for others, we should be more than willing to do so for ourselves and our education! Such helpful pieces of advice! I can't wait to implement them all during my upcoming semester! :)

Nursing school is hard, but if you're adaptable then you make it through. First semester is hard as you begin to learn, and think like a nurse. Every teacher has power points. Take notes on power points. High light what they emphasize. Restudy and expand. Lean on your peers. Don't get stuck on a bad grade. Learn from it, and move on. That's how you succeed.

I love her message of if you can wake up at 6am to catch a train for your job to work for someone else’s company, then you can wake up at 6 am to study for YOURSELF. You should give yourself equal or more amount of energy to yourself than you do for someone else! Love it!

Thank you!! I agree with your comment about keeping everything to yourself- NO BODY NEEDS TO KNOW--... I had an excellent job with 100% tuition reimbursement, I was applying It to my pre-reqs and would study during my break time at work... My coworkers were so envious and made my life a living hell!! I quit my job due to stress and applied for financial aid--- I'm about to start Nursing School... studying in a stress free environment is so worth it... You are totally on point..Excellent tips👏🏼👍🏼🤓

Nepalma Becaram, why does it feel like you walked in my shoes. lol... I can not agree more to KEEP YOUR DREAMS, GOALS to yourself. I also had a similiar situation with coworkers and yes, a stress free environment is so worth it. People oddly to say do not like a person following their goals or just being happy with self. Its sad but true. not all people though just most lol, . Have a support system :)

Thank you soooo much for this video!!! I begin Nursing School in the fall and I have viewed several videos on how hard it is and I am completely aware!! Also, what drew me to this video was the title!! Everyone keeps saying "you used to be a an A student but now that you're in nursing school you'll become a C student"t!!! and up until I viewed your video I accepted this way of thinking!! I am an A student and I really want to do the work to remain an A student in nursing school esp. since I want to further my education and become an CRNA! so thank you so much for your tips and advice and I am going to spend the rest of the summer freshening up on my conversions and math and I do plan to purchase the NCLEX-RN book soon so I can get a feel for what its like. I don't allow recording of my lectures, however it is a good idea to ask your professor if recording is okay. Your note taking methods was excellent and the other tips for studying were perfect ideas. I know you will be just fine and will be a great nurse. Congratulations!

+Regina C My A&P professor didn't allow us to record lectures and anything said in class, including things that were not in our textbook was included on our exams. It drove me crazy trying to write fast enough (esp. with medical words) and still try to understand the content. I've always been curious, why don't some professors allow students to record the lecture?

+CandidAnn I've been a nurse since '86 and a nursing instructor since 2001. I don't understand why some profs don't allow students to record their lectures. I suppose it could be insecurity. I don't mind if my students record me whether they ask or not. My goal is for the student to learn. Students have different learning styles, so if recording helps them, I'm all for it.

When I was in nursing school I would turn my written lectures into tapes that I would listen to whenever I was not studying. Similarly you could tape your lectures and re take the notes OR add to notes already taken. Students almost always miss some part of lecture because they're taking notes. Good luck to you future nurse!!

Thank you for sharing. I am an older female and want to start the accelerated BSN program. I have a few questions. 1) I find that the HESI A2 book doesn't have any explanations for its answers. Yes this book leaves you out in the cold. I came across a site Called: "Are you ready for the hesi.com". This site has questions and explanation for why they are correct. It also says it gives questions exactly like Hesi. I have been out of school a long time. So I'll get right to the point. It has been forgotten.😶 Help‼

I'm not familiar with Hesi. It was not required for me.
