- Welcome Gardeners to my cute and colorful small garden in California zone 9b. Summer is on its way and my garden is growing, blooming and changing fast! I'm loving my beautiful Lantana, Sunflowers, Larkspur, Petunias, Beebalm and Vinca. Even my veggies are almost ready to harvest! It all looks so fabulous. I could sit out there all day drinking ice tea. Sitting on the little bench with your cute doggy sitting on my lap. Then later the kitty on my lap.

@@GardenHappy I left about 8 our time it was nice to see few old friends but seems like it's the same ole people showing up lol not as many young kids ever show up:) I never see any of my old classmates show up lol
Young people are just too busy in this world to show up for things like that. That all changes as you get older and you realize what’s important in life.👍😇Liz

@@GardenHappy Yes, it's off to a great start! I have a purple Crepe Myrtle in my backyard, but it's not blooming quite yet here in Southern California. I don't see the white ones around here very often, so it's fun to see yours!

The garden is looking good. Liz. I visited San Diego once and while driving in a residential neighborhood, I had to stop and admire the front yard of one house. The entire front grounds were covered in huge succulents and outside an Asian lady was watering it all with her hose. Now that lady had a spectacular garden and made me think, only in California!
Hello silverdawninTx yes, you are so right. Succulents grow so good in California. I agree sometimes just succulents in the garden are spectacular. So much variety, textures and colors. I probably would’ve stopped and taken. Lots of pictures as well. @@GardenHappy I am a senior citizen much older than you and when the weather heats up Texas , I will be in summer hibernation mode. I was born and raised in New Orleans and moved to Texas in 1999. New Orleans has its own special gardens as well with lots of tropical plants. All the hanging "moss" on the trees in City Park was always nice to see. Happy gardening.
Well, I am a senior citizen too, 61 years old so I am probably in the same mindset as you. Wow that hanging moss sounds very beautiful. You definitely have lived in tropical and warm areas. U motivated me to grow vinca feom seeds.now their in the ground.hopeing to explode for me like yours but its been raining here and right now its not looking good.
Good morning Faye I hope your Vinca seeds come up soon. I noticed a lot of my little Vinca sprouts are just popping up in the garden now so you should start seeing little sprouts soon. I did both this year. I bought some and they are also coming back from seed. I hope you have a good luck with yours. ❤️🥰👍Liz

I have an old bathtub in my memory garden --painted it purple.

They are called Purple Shamrocks. I have them potted. I’ve never anyone with them and grew them from seeds. They grow tall and huge! 💜

You have so many blooms! I like that term THUG. In my garden the thug is the vinca major. I cleared one fairly large area of it and now have space for a new more shaded garden. I'm still deciding exactly what to plant- maybe hydrangeas and geraniums and let my yesterday, today, and tomorrow really flourish. 🐦🐦🐦
I just learned that term thug from another RUclips channel. I like it as well. I think it’s funny. I have some Vinca minor trailing down in my hanging basket and you are right. It definitely is a thug as well. It keeps growing back from the roots below, and it is definitely hard to get rid of. I think planting geraniums in that area will be just lovely. The garden is so beautiful and colorful as always 🎉❤ I had a pineapple sage in a flower pot last year and I didn't know how aggressive it gets in the ground, I love the plant and hope to get another one this year - guess I'll still keep it in a pot though! Looks like you have been doing a lot of work mixing things up ❤ from Andrea 😊see you next time
Hi Andrea. . . I had no idea how much that pineapple sage plant would spread out either until this year. Its been growing in that spot for about 5 years so I guess that was time to venture out!!! hahaha I don't regret it and it's very easy to dig and root up. . . . so its all good I guess. I find that so encouraging so I appreciate you for visiting me. The hydrangeas in my garden or just ones that I bought at Home Depot nothing special. I’ve had them for many years, but they finally are happy in this spot. As trees continue to grow in my garden the sun and shade changed so now I too am finding myself enjoying a shade garden. I think hostas and hydrangeas and impatience are so beautiful together. I’m near Modesto California what part of zone 9 B are you in? ❤️🥰🙏👍 thank you again for your support and encouragement. Liz

Hello there Karen welcome to my channel. I’m so flattered you took the time to visit me and subscribe. Thanks for noticing that awesome flower structure on my little coffee table in the garden isn’t that just so amazing? My next-door neighbors son actually hand made that. I’m not sure how or what materials he used, but it was handcrafted, the neighbor did not know what to do with it and she knew that I would put it somewhere in my garden. So she gave it to me. Thank you for noticing and appreciating it. that will make for a good question in my next Q&A 👍🥰❤️Liz
