Totally nailed it! Couldn't agree more! Took me a long time to accept the seemingly paradoxical fact that, while I love being among people (even noisy ones) from time to time, it still drains my battery. Even if I consider such an experience to be fun and satisfying - after that, I'm totally exhausted, it almost feels like super heavy work. And then I need tons of quiet time for myself. To all the introverts out there: That's what we are, there's nothing wrong with us 🙂

As an introvert I can say this is very accurate. The most exhausting thing is to explain everything. You have to explain yourself. Why you don't want to go out. Why you don't want to call. Why you don't want to party. Why you don't like 80% other people do. I always have the feeling that extrovert people just have to quiet down, but introverts can never change their behavior because it would feel insincere. We always want to do what is necessary, not what is expected. I don't hate people, on the contrary: that is why I am so introvert in public. don't bother other people with your behavior or wishes.

I had no problem during the pandemic. I worked graveyard shift at a large grocery store. Mostly alone all night in my department. Heaven. Live alone. Had a network of friends I was in touch with. I like telephones! Because I worked in a grocery, I shopped after work, so I didn't worry about food. I even helped friends by getting hard-to-find items before they disappeared. The only thing I missed during the pandemic was going to the library, but they would gather books on your list and bring them out to the car. Lockdown actually wasn't all that different from my regular life. 😅

The reason introverts "secretly" love these things is because it would require us to interact with another human to tell them we love these things for it to not be a secret. So, they view it as a secret and we view it as normal.

100%. I think I am more of an introvert than ANYONE I know. Normally, I never feel alone, but have noticed at times that I desperately seek connections. It takes so much for me to open up and let someone in. I have to be extremely careful. If I let someone in (like a covert Narcissist) and they betray my trust or discard me, I go under so deep that it takes a random and very rare twist of fate for me ever to open up again. I love not only when it rains, but when it storms or snows. I love my dogs, cats and nature but don't care for people in general but tolerate them. I love getting caught up in Philosophy and making sense of life. I find it extremely difficult to find others to communicate with on a deep, meaningful level. C Ewing

Wow. Every thing said was spot on. I went back in time to the 1960's and remembered my tree I would climb. There was a natural nook between two branches where I would sit, happy as all get out, alone in my tree. It was amazing how every example brought up a scenario in my memory where that was so true. I appreciate these and other you tube videos on introverts. They explain so much of my reactions and behavior over the decades, where previously I had no explanation.

I enjoy walking alone, i do things on my own without asking anyone., i dont want to bother other people and i dont want to be bother either. I dont want to be in the crowded places. I love being home alone, listening music, playing games, do cleaning, do the laundrey. i dont like parties, or any occasion, It makes me feel uncomfortable/ awkward. I prefer texting or chatting than calls. All of these are true for i am an introvert. Except for shopping online, and freelancer.

I'm a introvert through and through, I used to be made believe I was a weirdo, a reclusive loner, antisocial who can't socialize and had to be psychologically treated. This video has been utterly reassuring and validating, knowing there are many more people like me has boosted my self-confidence and self-esteem , which I needed because I live surrounded by extroverts who won't accept my introversion and try to change it. Thank you very much for this video

I'm an introvert who works at the front desk of a hotel. I enjoy the interaction with guests but when I come home, I need time to myself. It took many years for my husband (who is extroverted) to understand that I need time alone. So we compromised--when I get home from work, he gets my full attention for three hours. After that, I am left alone until the next evening when I return from work. And on my days off, I initiate the interaction between us after I've had the necessary time to myself. Thankfully, my husband has several friends that he can call to chat with when I don't feel up to talking with him.

Ha! Love the one about being happy when plans are cancelled! I've tried to explain that to friends, when planning a get-together seems problematic. "Hey, if that date works for the rest of you, but I can't make it? Don't worry! Go ahead and have dinner together! I won't mind! Really, I won't!" (I can't say, "I'd actually PREFER it that way," without seeming rude, but that's what I'm thinking.) You nailed this one!

I am 100 % an introvert so this video pretty much sums me up in a nutshell and what's more, I enjoy doing and indulging in all of the above wherever and whenever I can. I like having the house to myself when I do and thus having the space in which to reflect both mentally and verbally with myself at my own pace, in my own time with no interruptions or distractions to work through any confusing thoughts and feelings which feels super satisfying in the long run as I find I can process them better as a result. I genuinely enjoy meaningful conversation with people who also understand the value of and prefer such a way to connect when compared to surface level, empty, boring conversation which bears no deeply emotional weight at all. It also makes for diving deeper, and deeper still into smart, empathetic, philosophical and even profoundly spiritual conversation all of which I find to be both super satisfying and beneficial in many more ways than one, especially when it results in an incredibly positive, emotional outcome. I often surprise even myself with what I have to say on some subjects like the many aspects of human nature, theology, art and more besides. And I always prefer shopping, including Christmas shopping, on my own as I can organize it all and put some real thought into what I buy for the people I'm buying for as an individual who will never apologize for needing as much me time as I can get to anyone. We all need it; in fact, I would go so far as to say that it's a bare necessity of human nature that everyone needs to make time for themselves including the busiest of business people, introvert and extrovert alike, it doesn't matter which. As a natural introvert myself, I would say it's people pleasers who go out of their way to be selfless saints for others all the time who may well pride themselves on being saintly a bit too much and never think that they should make any time for themselves who could do with taking a leaf out of the introvert's book. It's not selfish to please yourself because most of the time, that's actually what the people they're helping maybe too many times, like friends and family want the people pleaser in their lives to do for themselves instead as it can leave them feeling like they have no agency or self-reliability of their own. Making enough time for oneself makes it possible to make time for others. It's a wholly worthwhile and enjoyable, relaxing occupation and a good, healthy recipe for mental and emotional self-sustainability when doing perhaps too many things for others far too many times.

Wow this was very complex, extensive and entertaining to say the least; being that it resonated with most of my personality. Buy a problem I’ve been battling with lately that got me here (to this video) in the first place is:
      1. Feeling like I’m wasting my life away while being alone over 90% of the time
      2. I love to read but rarely rarely do because of wandering mind
      3. I can’t stay on one conversation for a good amount of time: perhaps because it lacks my basic interest and people are not interested in discussing good idealistic discussions
      4. Addiction
      5. Lack of high level Enthusiasm for goals, love, partnership or anything at all
      6. I don’t even know any more!! 😢🥹😭
