Sorry about the audio guys. The heater in the shop was on and we made the choice not to use the lav mic for freedom of movement. The noise cancellation is causing a lot of digital artifacts. Lesson learned.
This needs to be pinned 😂
@@JayC133it is pinned...
I was just to say audiooo :))), no biggie Jay!
A quick fix idea
Use RTX voice on it, play the video as the input voice in it and watch it remove the noise for ya
so i have a feeling you are using an x3d?? im really excited to see those come out.
Already got that REDACTED. Can't wait to see how it performs.

@@giopadilla Watch me. 🤪🤣
Jay, leave the edges frosted but don't use the trim paint. Get some of the tail light tint paint. It will make the edge seem black until the LED's are on, then it will tone down the light just a little bit. Kind of like a two way mirror.
For what its worth I moved across the country to Colorado and started learning IT. Finding time to make friends here is real tough and that leads to some tough days like today. I came home to work on my computer and it’s nice to have someone else building next to me. I just wanted to make sure you know that we all appreciate what you do!!
Watching all of these custom loop videos is giving me the confidence of doing it when I upgrade my personal system.
If it doesn't work, I blame Jay! :P
Good luck!
That's what happened to me. Watched and studied a lot of water cooling videos and got the confidence to build my own. It turned out super awesome and ended up winning gigabyte's rig of the week here in my country.
@Paradox that's a great tip. Cutting tubes has always put me off watercooling. Soft tubing should definitely make things easier.
I would too if you're getting your guides from an intentional tech illiterate channel.
Jay, you know you could have *_forced_*_ a firmware update_ for that RAM within ICUE. The hamburger menu (directly below the "Check for Updates" button) has an item "Force Update" for such occasions. Just remember, the hamburger menu icon won't show until you ask ICUE to check for an update.
Good to know.
I'm fighting with iCue right now because it won't detect an older Corsair AIO I have installed. I *think* it's an H100 but idk for sure, got it for free with a used C70 case I bought on Craigslist). Even tried the "legacy" version.
So I'm stuck with whatever color it decides to be when it boots, which is sometimes white but more often green. Kinda clashes with the purple theme I have going everywhere else, lol. Maybe this will fix it.
iCue is garbage but sadly it's simultaneously probably the best manufacturer's RGB software I've ever used.
Bro get signal rgb and you're problem will be solved.
@@TechGuy42ilm NOT entirely... SignalRGB has been a problem for me when my PC wakes up from sleep... keeps setting all to "strobe" haven't looked back since using Mystic Light (within Dragon Center)

Oh man, it's going to be one hell of a nice build, especially with that [redacted]. Can't wait to see the next part and final build!
Let’s go Jay!! And don’t forget to finish Tony Hawk’s PC build.
gonna be another two years before we ever see tony hawk get his pc build
Red Dead 2 build before Red Dead 3 comes out. I am a believer 🙏
@@TheOrlandolassus That build was officially canceled ages ago
There was a video where Jay announced that it was cancelled I think it was in 2020 or early 2021.
The last thing me, if I recall, he said that he might build it, but he's going to do it in one go, not like 10+ videos. News would be appreciated though.
7950X3D would be my guess on the CPU.
Definitely a 3D am5
I built my first water cooled computer in 2021 thanks to Jay.
I am going to watch this new series of videos with my son, and then we will build his next now that he is old enough. 👍
Thank you Jay!
This is why we like these builds! It’s the problem solving! And the work rounds that’ll make this build look awesome! Can’t wait for part 2 👍👍
Man. I dunno about the rest of your community but this is the only format I super enjoy. The out-loud thoughts, the shot of you unwrapping the water blocks. Nothing bad on Phil's montage skills but the open, real-world building right in my zone for watchability. Keep this format!
Loving the love format builds, a 2-4 episode build is the sweet spot!
Enjoy that new X3D chip!!!
Seriously did you really think that you could hide that from us??? Do not underestimate your viewers. 😂
"All the cores" hahaha
Love the CPU waterblock...and the metal on metal noise on that case, AWESOME. Really feels like you're handling something well put together!
Whenever I watch a water cooling build, I get excited for the day when I can make my dream custom water loop. For now I'm all air and mid range components while I save up for other life events. Thanks for all the inspiration Jay and Co.!
Idk what it is but I can be in the worst mood and Jays sillyness paired with Phils laugh always makes me happy :3 Never stop, guys!
I am so happy the build vlogs are back! These are some of my favorites of yours and it makes me want to build again (even though I am content in my case I think I might want to exparament eventually or get a new gpu (7900xtx if they fix their issues)
I love sentimental Jay. Why I keep watching all his videos and use them to fall asleep at night as well. I don’t know him personally but you can tell he’s just a genuine guy, really cares about everything he does and he actually gives a shit about his following. I can’t wait to do my own custom loop build and I will be using the JTC Corsair cpu block, just to have an homage to how much he’s taught me over these last few months. It’s crazy the impact someone can have on a stranger thousands of miles away. Keep up all your good work Jay and your team of saints!
Great to get back to some classic team interaction and builds. Keep it up
You should do unique bends and twists for the build especially because it's already going to be interesting to water cool. I think it would also add a little more custom and personal feel to the build!
In case no one heard, he said " 7950X 3D" Can't wait for the benchmarks! 😁
Benchmarks are nice but i am more eager to hear Jayz honest opinion on early adoption issues AMD typically has...
I do hope all goes smooth as i am also interested in the platform, but i am not very optimistic.
Soon as I saw “redacted” it was obvious. As if we didn’t notice in previous videos him mentioning it’s the cpu he’s looking forward to using in his next personal build 😐 But we understand the formalities
What are you talking about? It’s the AMD [redacted] cpu, not “7950X 3D”.
@@sublis939 he said it in his last vid
@@trailrider0660, not this video though.
Thank you Jay. I've always loved your personal build videos, it was you upgrading the 980Ti cards out of Skunkworks that got me watching your channel in the first place.
Sweet, I love hearing about the process for your builds and i can't wait to see as you get further and further into your build best of luck and hope it goes well.
Audio isn't jay. It's definitely something digital or in background. Doesn't sound good.
Sounds to me like he is not miced and we only have the room audio...
@@nicorosch3188 bingo.
its an echo
Sounds like they used a room mike with noise suppression
Audio isn't jay huh? I wonder what that means
What happened to the audio? Sounds like its not from the usual mic source
It looks great! I can't wait to see it all done.
One trick that you could possibly use for the edge of the acrylic is throwing on some clear nail polish and it should help fill in some of the grooves. It might or might not work, but at least it would give your a smoother edge and possibly clearer view.
For that Feminine touch. 😂
some odd audio issues in the video
Love this kind of content. Thank you!
Looking good so far. This will be an interesting build especially as it's not all planned out and "on the hoof". I like it.
Just a FYI or maybe at min to try. I seen a How Its Made show and they used Acetone to turn the cloudy look of the cut surfaces to a shiny clear finish.. Id try a piece with some acetone and a Q tip or Acid Brush to see if you like the results.
My Question: Is it possible to rotate the bottom distro-plate 180°, cause it looks like the hole, that is currently on the left side, could line up with the bottom port of the distro-pump-plate? 🤔
I was thinking same. But does it ruin the cable hole, I don't know.
right, I didn't think about that
I adore watching PC building videos aand this longer, vlog-type format with lots of reasoning and chatting about parts and dos and don't and etc. is probably the best one. I hope to see more of this type of content from you!
Epic Watercooled Gaming Rig Build Log - Part 1
THAT'S what I subscribed to this channel for!!! Love to see oldschool Jay stuff back!
All episodes of the build could be released at the same time like Netflix.
yeah unfortunately, youtube algorithm is likely to not like that.
@@sk8er100100 hmm.. may be 1 a day then
Edit : All episodes together for patreon and 1 a day for RUclips
@@jagzd honestly though I'd much rather get episodes as they happen. doing them all together would also mean waiting for the very end of the project, and would also mean Jay can't take anything viewers say into account with the build..... honestly man I'm not seeing the pros of all at once.
Great video (as always). Just looking to do a build with a larger case to have lots of space for a nice water-cooling setup and watching your videos still trying to get an idea of suitable components. Thank you for these awesome videos, and I hope you feel much better very soon 🙂
the long video format with all those blunders and problems you encounter is always a gem to watch... the joy in completing your build until you press the power button to boot for the first time.
Jay this is great thank you.
Paint the edge, we did the same on my distro plates and it looks so much cleaner! Plus prior to not painting it, the random RGB shining across my chest on stream was annoying
I second the use of the light wings! I have 6 of them myself. Awesome fans.
Thank you for finally doing a build again!!
Finally a build!!!!
Awesome video, thanks Jay!
Epic case man, im stoked to see this finishhed
Seeing this type of build video is awesome as you get to see the thought process that goes into it, rather than the standard timelapse of a "perfect" first time build like every other hard line water loop vid on youtube.
The tube routing on this is definitely going to be interesting though. I had a similar issue recently. Problem was, I only had 3 tubes to build with, so I didn't really have options for trial and error :/
It looks great!
the challenge of putting together a custom project is that we can never be sure how things will look at the end of each step. they are added uncertainties that can give good or bad surprises in the conclusion of things. It takes a lot of experience and psychological confidence to pull this off, and Jayz has both in spades.
liking it so far!! Curious on the tube routing and if the distro's stay in. Either way I know its gonna be a clean yet awesome build!
Don´t worry Jay. We appreciate that you keep putting out this content even tho you aren´t feeling well. Thank you for this. I love watching your custom loop builds. They´re the best.
Jay I have watched a lot of your videos and I enjoyed all of them! I have to say thank you for finally giving me the confidence to build my own gaming rig. Keep doing what you are doing man I love the content.
What a rig!
It is going to be a real dream machine.
Has to be the 7950X3D. Can't wait to see it done!
I agree with everyone about showing these types of videos. They show the true details of the trials and tribulations of PC building, some unconventional ideas and the tricks to make everything work.
Great video! Loves these types of vlogs
can't wait to see the creative tubing, seems tricky but hey its part of the journey
DAMN! What a beautiful build ❤ Great job
Yes, finally back to building!
Ditching the distro plate would look so much cleaner as it doesn't look like it aligns well with anything. All the fun of doing a water cooled build right here in one video, lot of planning and revising. Thanks for the content!
Looks stunning already. Tubing paths look very awkward though like you said, good luck getting them all done to your satisfaction. Can't wait to see it's final form and also how it performs.
can't wait to see the next parts
Yes! My favorite kind of videos!
This is a tip from my machine building days. If the distro blocs are made from the correct plastic, acetone will make the edges very clear and smooth. A quick test would be needed tho, just like the flame polish.
great stuff love the content jay one of my fav youtube channels
23:55 Pump outlet -> Distro block (close port -> far port) -> 4090 (Lower right port -> Upper left port) -> velocity block (Lower -> Upper) -> Top rad (Motherboard Port -> Side Panel Port) -> Front Rad (Side Panel Port -> Motherboard Port) -> Pump Res
Whoa and invisible motherboard processer and such flawless cable management u cant see them at all!!!! U R amazing Jay.. oh wait they were not installed yet... Very clever ruse sir
:D finally it's time to see it getting built
This is going to be a beautiful build Jay!! I can't wait to see it finished. Have you looked into the the new Silverstone Sharkforce fans? They have a good Daisy chaining setup and they look great and move a ton of air. I used them in my wife's new build and I'll be getting some for mine as well.
finally some custom watercooling action, hope there will be more of such content in future
I missed these mixed with the dirty jokes and now with dad jokes as well, glad to have them back!
Looking good Jay! One thing to note - you don't need iCue for Dominator RAM on an Asus mobo. There's a plugin you can install (Prior to Armoury Crate) that allows Armoury Crate to control the RGB on your Dominator RAM.
Please do a video explaining/testing the effects off thermal paste pump out, i’ve been getting a lot of pumping out effect on notebooks and gpus (cpus are fine) after 6 months / 1 year (or even less time) with noctua nt-h1 and h2… For those who dont know what im talking about, is when the paste physically leaks out of the place that is meant to be.
Jay, maybe tape of the plate edges with some pinstriping tape, leave 1/4 or 1/8 frosted in the center of the edge with the rest painted. You'd still get lighting showing through, while reducing the area that's 'unfinished'.
If you plan on using the silver on the radiators and fittings you could also try to use the silver cpu water block to help it match more. I think that would look good.
More of these videos, please. Love to watch these while eating
Polishing acrylic cut edges is work intensive but well worth it. I used to hand sand with 400, 600, 800, 1000 then use the Dremel white barrel brush with red jewelers paste to get a glass finish
I also had rattling/dead Uni fans in my build of 18 months. Of course it was the middle fan in the stack, so I just ripped them all out and replaced with my old Noiseblocker eLoops which are still going strong after 12 years.
Letsss gooooo! I’ve been hyped for this to return.
Things to experiment with, for the rough cloudy water block acrylic edges (besides trying the heat treatment):
1) Apply Cell Helmet. Yes the liquid stuff you use for phone screen protection.
Penetrates the finer scratches real good, while also filling in imperfections.
2) Try clear nail polish, on the acrylic edges. If its too thick and not penetrating enough for the finer areas? add a touch of acetone to thin it out.
3) Rain-X (but you will probably need to re-apply at some point).
The gratitude sentiment was refreshing! Thank you Jay
maaaan I love these guys when they do what they like!
:D
You could wet sand and use plastic polish with a buffing wheel on the sides of those distribution plates. It would take some time and elbow grease, but it would leave you with a really great finish.
Looking good jason coming along good i can see nice one. 😀😉
Nice Jay's using a 7950x3d, but soon the memes will return for the 9000 series... soon! *crushes scouter*
I'm using that same motherboard with the nickel AM5 block, going for a black build with nickel accents, all I need is my torque fittings and then I can pipe it together !
and yes I really enjoy the multi-part build VLOGS
you should 3-d print jayz custom slats for the rear i/o, and the geforce logo can be tinted with a vht product called night shades,(also might work for the side of the distro blocks) just ideas sharing but awesome build so far, one other suggestion SAMCO sport makes silicone elbows that might be usful for those bends , try to reduce the stresses of weird bends and blend some of your love for auto racing into the build
Jay, I would long-grain sand the edges of the distribution plates with a belt sander at around 200-400 grit, and leave them. It produces a diffused effect, so no bright lights, and it looks pretty cool IMO.
For the too bright colored gpu badging, you can use lightly tinted window tint foil, and stick it on it. Works like a charm.
Jay...Paul, Kyle, and mostly you have finally got me to get the stuff to upgrade my PC. It may not be much. But it is a start.
Jay evaluating the CPU block: "There's nothing else in the case that's silver / metal". Jay unwraps and installs rads with silver: "I might just leave the silver, it seems like a pretty nice contrast". So uh, you could use the othe EK waterblock if you're leaving the silver on the rad.
You could always add your own fitting ports to the distro plates. Drill and tap for the new port and use a G1/4" plug for ports you don't use.
I'm currently building a case for my new build, the case is an open case design, made out of 16mm copper piping, the case itself will also be filled with liquid to be part of the watercooling of the CPU and GPU, using 2x480 rads, both blocks are copper plates. Will post my build log for review. This is my first time liquid cooling as well. Needed to use some liquid flow dynamics software to ensure the case would flow liquid correctly. Using Intel 13th Gen i9.
These are the best videos on RUclips. Water cooling vlogs wit Jay.
Watercooling and long format video. What a treat
Wow the way they block mounts to the board is truly awesome.
Great video as always, do more builds man, very educational
Jay I’d sort the tubes out by reversing the way you’re connecting them. So instead of trying to make that tight bend on the bottom of the pump plate take that tube all the way to the rear port of the bottom plate then have the front port be the outlet to the GPU or the front rad. It means more tubes that will fill that empty space up nicely and you can make cleaner bends because you don’t have any tight spaces to fit them into.
maybe for routing, top CPU port into top rad, top rad into front rad, front rad into top "resi" port, bottom port into distro plate, distro plate into GPU. I still think you could make that look extremely clean with how youre able to bend tubing etc. it'll look really nice too with that mystic fog in the plate/resi and the tubes being blacked out again. Sort of helps to pull the focus to there instead of directly on the tubing runs
I've had one LED on my HyperX memory doing opposite colours and what not for so long and couldnt find out any reason for it. Thank you, for bringing firmware to my attention.
As a watercooling enthusiast i love these kinds of videos. Have you considered using the Noctua NF-A12x25 Chromax or Phanteks T30 fans for a sleek and elegant look? That's what i would do, and then maybe add some rgb strips.
