Im a 74 year old ex pat Kiwi and lived / worked out of the Philippines since 2002. Ex Vietnam Vet and 20 year (broken) military service. 1968- 1992. Last 12 in NZSF.
Started checking Carnivore podcast material late 2023 and began Carnivore eggs meat only in Mar 2024.
Have lost 16kg, (96 to 80kg) No ailments, body pain arthritic or muscular anymore. Skin spots cleared on arms from sun exposure. Feel really good mind body and soul. Dr Chaffee was the the trigger but several other great podcasts available.
Dont knock it till you have tried it. It is the easiest healthy option I have ever been comfortable with.
Me too, 55 years old, carnivore going on 2 years, lost the excess weight( 18lb), no more pain in my body, I had severe back, hip and knee pain! No more gout, gerd, allergies, raynauds, hormonal mood swings, lifelong anxiety, headaches, sleep issues, its amazing, but not uncommon in the carnivore community!
I’ve been on Carnivore for 18 months. I’m female, about your age, I’ve only lost half of what I should have lost by now and my arthritis is worse. Any words of wisdom on what to do next. Thanks
@pamsnowberger1129
I'm so sorry you're still having arthritis pain. After just 9 weeks mine is starting to improve a little in my back. I'm not even sure it's improved but the flexibility has. I'm able to stand up straight with my shoulders back without causing immediate spasms. It doesn't last long, but I'm constantly reminding myself again and again, straighten up!
My hands haven't improved much, if any.
I watched a Kelly hogan video. It was about how ill she was and how she gained weight instead of losing until her body healed enough to let some weight go. Those kind of videos encourage me to stay on track.
Besides, I know I'm healthier every day, no matter how impatient I am. 18 months is a long time, but have you noticed other non-scale victories?
I'll stay on carnivore because of my mental health improvements alone. My depression is so much better after being on meds for most of my life. Without meds or the side effects. My mood has stabilized and the anxiety, that feeling of impending doom, is rare.
The only pills I take now are muscle relaxers and the pain meds. And I'm able to take less now. Your perseverance is inspiring. I so want to be here and healthy for my kids and grandkids. Good health and mind to you!
I’m literally the same dude only I’m south Asian (whatever that means really)

One thing I like about chafee is he's a gentleman.. but I look at results..compare chaffees skin to delauer and saladino, no comparison.. bodwwise, all 3 look to be in good shape..but look at the skin health... the 2 on carbs look aged compared to the carnivore... my money is on the carnivore
The main thing I noticed a decade ago when I first saw some random people doing carnivore videos: IMMACULATE skin. Every. Single. Time.
@bitharne that's exactly my point..you can build muscle on keto..carnivore..standard high carb bodybuilding diet..but skin health doesn't lie.. delauer and saladino do not look as healthy and young like chaffee.. they look aged

Meat is just about the only thing I can eat that doesn’t give me acid reflux. If that doesn’t tell you that it’s what we’re meant to eat, then nothing will. I’m off the omeprazole!

Btw, coffee (caf or de-caf) is an Avoid for O's on the Blood Type Diet, as it's said to be an insulin disruptor.
It took me a very long time to allow myself to trying out the carnivore lifestyle because I was quite sick in 2013 and turned my ship around on a plant based diet. No simple carbs, 9 cups of steamed vegetables and clean animal protein. I have seen some good changes being on the carnivore diet: post-menopausal weight loss, amazing cognitive function, better energy and my bio markers are all looking really good. I still have some work to do, such as improving my immune function and I hope that this lifestyle is eventually going to do the trick.
It will just have to be patient
Happy Neurosurgery Awareness Month Dr. Chaffee!
Chaffee is the Don !! He explains everything so well. Cheers Doc 🙌🏼
The more I learn the more I think this:
TRUST YOUR TASTEBUDS. Bitter flavors are a warning.
Also why I think fruit is fine to eat in phases. I think we should cycle fruit and animal intake like we would in nature, based on availability. Fruit is scarce.
Some people like bitter things
veggies like the 'bitter gourd' known as Goya in Japan, has been shown to be very healthy and full of anti oxidents
he mentioned children's aversion to flavors, it's known that their taste ability is not formed until late teens or 20s. Children are drawn to sweets as that's the first to be formed. Perhaps drawn due to the high calories and every stored calorie in childhood in the past was to preserve the family. If taste is the deciding factor then pizza and soda would be the answer to good health. Got to think better than that.
Uhhhhh so more cocaine, booze, sugar and fried food gotcha!

That is awesome. You may experience oxalate dumping on your journey, but the best thing is keep going through it and allow your body to work its way through it. Good luck!!
Yes sir, almost 2yrs on carnivore now. Never going back, wish i found chaffee 20yrs ago 😂
Our ancestors had 20% more brain mass as hunter gatherers than us. Imagine what humans could achieve had we eat like a carnivore this whole time and retained that brain mass and have todays knowledge of what physics and mathematics…….we would achieve the unthinkable in terms of science and engineering.
I often ponder this too. But the sad truth is many evil "people" benefit from our stagnation.
A good example would be if say a genius or geniuses have figured out the true cure for cancer or some other illnesses.
It is not a stretch to say big pharma would rather have that person assassinated and their research burned or locked away forever. It may sound cooky conspiracy theorist of me but think about it.
Big pharma would not benefit from some genius curing something permanently. They don't want a one and done fix. They just want a drug that alleviates the discomfort temporarily for a endless customer.
So much like in my example above there are likely MANY areas of human life that someone could have leaped us decades into the future with but they were silenced and "taken care of" so things would remain the same.
We had many people in say the 50s 60s ect that thought by now we would be living like the Jetsons with flying cars and whatnot but anytime someone could or might have gotten us there I believe they were stopped.
Even now I believe we could and should have been far more advanced than we are now. But evil sadly runs the world.
Like actually going to the moon lol... And prevent humans domestication and global slavery we live within!
But larger isn't better when it comes to brains. It's about how efficient it is.
The word "balanced", which DeLauer uses a few times, is essentially meaningless.
@@Poecilia1963 Just like DeLauer !
It's a relative term and balance requires a pivot point or fulcrum and who defines that
@@doddgarger6806I'm just starting to walk again after being wheelchair bound. That was not possible prior to becoming carnivore. Balance is very important to me. 😮😊
@@censured-again I had a right leg painfully disable by a sciatic nerve in my right hip for 15 years! leaned back in my recliner 1.5 weeks in and it painfully popped back into place. It has taken me the last year of self-rehab to relearn how to walk and redeveloped very very atrophied muscles. Carnivore entirely changed my life as well.
I don't blame the average layman for saying so when describing variety of diet. It's a safe 'cover all bases' approach when you don't actually know the clear cut truth of a matter, in this case diet. For those familiar with the truth, balance takes on a different meaning. Eating a bit of beef, lamb, pork eggs, fish, chicken, cheesez etc lol.
I had wild blackberries on my property in the Southeast. The deer would love them. But 1 was enough to give me a mild stomach ache. A few certainly made my stomach hurt enough to need to rest. This was when I idealized plants, before I even knew about carnivore.
What is sad is most pet foods are grain based now. The meat based pet foods are garbage in the country I live in.
Yep, $26 for a 2.5 pound bag of Royal Canine and the first two ingredients are wheat bran and rice. Also various forms of sugar and various fruit and veg.
I bought that shit for 14 years and buried my chihuahua about eight years before her time.
My dog is carnivore with me. She eats what I do and she gets a raw rib bone weekly. I also keep a small bowl of kibble down for her in case she wants to crunch. She doesn't touch it most days. She's 15 and has lots of arthritis and has lost her hearing. I told my vet what I was doing and refused the shot updates and he was fine with it. She also hasn't been bothered with fleas or ticks.
Grind your own dog food. Its so cheap when you buy reduced price chicken and beef.
@connieirwin3229 That's what I eat, except I'm not a big fan of chicken. Why would I grind it down? I would think the chewing would be better for her? Would it be better ground up? I cook the chickens and make bone broth with the bones. She gets a bowl of that most days. I've always made her jerky instead of store bought treats. I'm on a very limited income now, so every dollar counts. Now she gets ground turkey made into jerky instead of thin sliced sirloin. After 8 weeks, I'm seeing a few little improvements in her movements.
Thanks for your suggestion.
I have gradually converted my puddy tat to carnivore. She has put on weight (she was always too skinny), no longer gets fur balls and her coat is shiny.
So I grew up in the 60s and 70s… my mother would boil the bejesus out of vegetables until they were grey (so revolting) and then she would drink the water from the pot once it was cooled…. So she got all the minerals and vitamins boiled out of the vege and used kids go… well… the shit….
As it happens I never touch vegetables or fruit and haven’t done so for over 9 years…. Bloody horrible stuff to me…. Never been healthier… steaks for the win!
Haha, I know exactly what you are talking about. 😂😂😂
All the vegetables and grains ALSO carry herbicides pesticides and fungicides. YUM
We been doing carnivore for 3 months enjoying healthy lifestyle
I got hooked on keto with Thomas, he kinda went a little commercial and kooky so I’m glad to see he might be coming back to the “light”. Thanks for always being a voice of reason, Dr Chaffee!!
@@penelopehusker4275 Not a chance..... Love's the colour of money way to much.
I think this interview was from a little while back. Thomas is still extremely commercial. And, likes to dissect weak sauce nutritional studies as if it’s true hard science. But he seems like a great gent as far as I can tell, has some great advice, and I can understand wanting to profit off his large audience
One of the only things Tom really does wrong it his insistence on inconsistency. Normal people need routines and eating schedule to get best results. Tom recommends exact opposite. That alone WILL ruin peoples good eating habits.
@@SuitedPupI can't understand wanting to profit off his big audience. That's why I'm not part of his audience. I prefer people like Anthony Chaffee and Paul Mason, for example, who are willing to tell the truth without regard to whether it is profitable for them.
As soon as a channel starts to hawk products, as soon as they start to be more concerned about profit than about the health of the people who subscribe, then it is time to unsubscribe and find someone else.
The important thing is to take the time to learn the underlying science. Read the books, read the studies, don't just take medical advice from a RUclips so-called influencer. Anthony Chaffee is a doctor. He's not here to influence anyone, he wants to tell people the truth and help them eat a healthier diet.
@@Kyarrix that’s a very fair point. I guess I should say I “understand” but don’t condone.
Also, you mention Chaffee being a doctor, so listen to him. To be fair, the vast majority of doctors would recommend against a carnivore diet.
I would actually recommend to NOT listen to doctors, nor nutritional science. Nutrition science is an extremely soft science, with very little predictive power (as opposed to hard science such as physics, chemistry, biology). Besides, it is corrupted by financial bias (e.g. our conversation on Thomas DeLauer making money espousing nutrition “science”). If we follow nutritional studies, we’ll buy into things like “chocolate lowers your risk of Alzheimer’s!” and other ridiculous claims.
The real thing to consider is the simple fact that we are a species of animal, Homo sapiens, and every species has their species-appropriate diet. The sciences that answer what that is for us include evolutionary biology, biochemistry, and anthropology. These all, I would argue, point to an animal-based diet (not Saladino’s version, but a truly animal-based diet).
Besides that, the thousands of testimonials of people indicating completely remarkable results from a carnivore diet is indicative of a phenomena. It’s absolutely ridiculous that scientists don’t take these seriously. Anecdotal evidence, once it reaches a certain threshold, is strong evidence / borderline proof.
I just watched homesteadhow, and the woman he interviewed shared that if you eat fruit in summer ,when ripe and available , the longer sunshine increases the nitic oxide and will help your liver dump the fructose. So makes it less harsh on the body and less chance for developing fatty liver. BUT it still will knock you out of ketosis, and it will feed the bad gut bacteria, which creates other serious problems.
Yes Kerry with Malia very good interview enough for me to never cheat again, I want to heal my guts.
Thanks Dr. Chaffee for explaining the hormetic effect of plant toxins in a way that makes sense. I.E. if one doesn’t know the correct dose then the potential benefit becomes pure speculation and subject to more harm than good.
Carnivore makes eating simple, it’s really not hard at all.
So simple.
Beef eggs butter fish is the only thing I eat I come to find that doesn’t give me bloat, gas, bubbles in upper and/or lower GI. My gut didn’t use to be this sensitive, but over the last 3-4 years eating very carnivorish and low low carb, every time I fall off, even with just protein powder, tummy goes ⭕️🚫and I regret pretty damn quickly. Carnivore all the way , supreme digestion and well being.
"Protein powder" is pretty nebulous! Yours probably has whey and/or soy protein powder in it. I eat beef, salmon, eggs, butter...plus a protein* drink every day at the gym. *Grassfed beef protein & eggwhite protein & multi-collagen & stevia...no garbage in it. I make my own mix on the True Nutrition website.
I can't unsee how much Thomas blinks....
Now you can't either. You're welcome.

Good early morning from QUEENSLAND AUSTRALIA
I developed RT a few years ago. I have been feeling tired lack of energy because my body is attacking itself I refuse to take the toxic meds. I read about the nightshade and high histamine fruits and veg. Very toxic.
I have just started eating meat beef only on a daily basis. I have cut out the carbs. I hope in a couple of months I will feel better
👊❤
You will!🥩🥩🥩
A key point to me is that carnivorous animals don't get heart disease. Lions, who eat only meat, don't get heart disease even if their cholesterol levels are through the roof. Housecats, who eat "healthy", cooked, omnivorous diets (that comes in cans... meat along with rice and various grains) do develop heart disease. Lions can also get very high blood sugar and remain healthy; they don't develop diabetes in the way that house cats, and humans (who eat omnivorous diets) do.
I have not gone fully carnivore but am trending more in that direction. I suspect that a fully carnivorous diet would also need to contain some raw or undercooked animal-based foods, with precautions taken to avoid parasites.
Cook it ❤
I noticed a number of years ago that people with a 'normal' appetite tended to eat a little extra one day, then naturally ate less for the next 2 to 4 days. Sometimes unintentionally intermittent fasting by skipping a meal or two -- nothing but coffee for breakfast, a salad for lunch -- that kind of thing.
I've noticed I have fallen into a similar eating pattern since going carnivore. Some days my husband politely points out I am making "carnivore sounds" while I take the first few bites of steak on a 'ravenous' day. Bless him.
The next day, I have very little appetite and tend to eat much lighter. A coffee for Breakfast. A couple of hard boiled eggs for lunch. A hamburger patty or two or bone broth for dinner.
Anyone else noticing their appetite normalizing like this?
Sounds like you're not doing CrossFit 3 hours a day like I am haha! 🥩🥩🥩🐟🥚🥚🥚🧈
@@vanillaghetto Definitely not.
Amazing to see your channel grow, almost 400k subcribers already! Cheers from the Netherlands
For humans animals are food, plants are medicine. Pretty simple.
Delauer and Dr. Berg will eventually come around to full Carnivore...It's just a stricter Keto diet.
You can also get gluconeogenesis from the lactate that is generated via glycolysis of glycogen. It's called the Cori cycle, it's the reverse of glycolysis, converting lactate back into glucose to replenish glycogen stores. The Cori cycle runs on ATP generated from the oxidation of fat.
I have never heard of this cycle...so interesting! Than you for sharing!! I love new rabbit holes. It makes sense, if no kill and you tuck into the cave or savanna, something is gonna have to give you a couple more chances...if we were one run and done humans would have ceased to exit, huh?! Thank you, and I mean this deeply. *Nerd mode engaged*
@@luvabean I know exactly what you mean; a lot of things started making a lot more sense when I learned about the Cori cycle. I always wondered how did old school bodybuilders build tons of muscle on meat, eggs, and feta . . . where did the glycogen for their workouts come from? Or in other (mostly ancient) times and places, which had little in the way of naturally occurring starches. After an unsuccessful hunt, our ancestors didn't go back to their caves and eat a big bowl of Wheaties . . . they would have to be able to replenish their glycogen using their own body fat.
And this also goes to (partially) explain why Stefansson and others found that when on an all-meat diet, you must eat enough fat, and that too much lean meat won't work if you are zero carb. You need that fat for energy, and the Cori cycle is one of the many energy pathways.
One thing that I have read, is that for people who are habituated to eating carbohydrates, it may take a few weeks or even months for the body to fully adjust to using the Cori cycle. This would explain why short-term studies demonstrate that carb-adapted athletes find that their performance suffers when they shift overnight to a low carb diet. There's no shortage of studies showing that low carb diets impair athletic performance - in the short term (i.e. a few weeks).
But the body does adapt. Dr. Eric Westman and his colleagues, I believe Dr. Steve Phinney was on this paper as well, look up the FASTER study. They measured muscle glycogen levels in runners who were either long-term fat-adapted or carb-adapted. The long-term fat adapted runners' glycogen levels remained high, even after a 50-mile run. They were just constantly running the Cori cycle the whole time. No need to eat glucose gels or whatever the carb-adapted athletes were eating during the run.
I'm strange. I went carnivore overnight and didn't experience a period of poor workouts. I just kept on doing my workouts same as before. If anything, I felt stronger immediately. I was fully expecting, and ready to tolerate, an initial drop-off before eventually adjusting. But it just never happened. I know that some others have had a different experience. To this day I cannot figure out why I adjusted so easily. Just lucky or strange, I guess.
Had to try it because of an autoimmune disease, stomach/digestion feels way way better ,no more bloating or being stuck at trying to lose weight, u gotta give it some time tho ,helped me a lot. Also it's very easy to shop & cook, stupidly easy infact :D
An interesting note for anyone interested with regards to plant toxicity, I am a rabbit breeder(meat rabbits), and daily I supplement my rabbits pellets with wild grasses, forbs, shrubs and various herbs which grow wild in nature. I have to be careful with regards to which plant I feed to them as they will literally die on the spot if they eat the wrong item, which is wild considering the fact that they are 100% herbivores....! It is well known that rabbits die almost instantly from bloat.
I’m really really new to this lifestyle. I’m willing to try it. I have blood production problems, low low energy, and really lethargic. I tried vegetarian for 6 weeks and felt awful. I’m going to keep watching your videos.
Look up dr Ken Berry also. And Dave Mac no carb life for people’s testimony of what problems got fixed. You won’t look back. I’m 16 months in
When I was a kid I absolutely hated peppers and onions. Gagged on cream of wheat( mom made me eat it) luckily we grew up on a farm and had lots of meat. Almost every meal had meat. I would sneak some raw hamburger off of the counter and eat it. So I guess it was something my body needed. However, the quick foods came into the picture in high school especially ( ‘80s) I did not gain weight , but I was young and an athlete. Our parents literally did not know how bad it was for you. I wish I would have known more when my kids were little. Luckily we did eat a lot of meat and they grew up to be healthy and strong. They are smart kids and are healthy ish eaters now. None are carnivore, but they do realize the importance of limiting carbs and eating plenty of protein. My daughter was very stubborn and decided to try a very low fat / calorie diet when she was 18. Lost weight and was very unhealthy. Lost most of her hair. I kept telling her it was bad for her, but she wouldn’t listen for a while. Luckily she got over that. She is at a healthy weight and eats more fat and meat now ( not enough t fat and too many carbs in my opinion) but someday I think she will come around as she gets older.
I'm on day 5 and thought fasting was going to be my biggest challenge. Turns out it's eating enough. I'm just not cold burger hungry yet.
You will😉

I like most things. Finding someone who knows more than me is easy. Finding who listens and able to help me is hard to find. However, I feel you are willing and shown that you quinuinely care. I was very strict clean keto for 2 years. Fasting insulin of 6.7. I then introduced fruit and raw dairy. 1 year later, Fasting insulin is 4.4. Insulin sensitivity improved. I think we need to focus on the seed oils
How on earth did we become so confused?
Greedy people
Because people like thomas delauer say way more than they need to. But mostly because of corruption in the government
Jewish propaganda that’s how
The "controllers" are masters of deception, and they bamboozled us all.

Best Dr. out there, wish him the best, for his contribution to mankind. Big fight out there, best respect for dr. Chaufe.
Att!! Att! Dr Chaffee! Someone is reaching out to your fans, asking for private chat on telegram and asking for donations! It’s easy to tell that it’s not you for som like me, but a lot of people can be fooled. 😖😖
Just started the carnivore diet. Challenges I am experiencing, hungry not too long after I eat, and what also seems to be sugar and carb withdraws lol. Taking it day by day and these vids most certainly help.
Take it slow, bro. Keto flu and oxalate dumping might happen for a week or two. Up your electrolytes, stay away from carbs, and drink plenty of water. Good luck!
@@JM-yq9gd much appreciated. Full speed ahead. Thanks for the input.
Keep at it. I've been Carnivore for 8 myhs now.
The first month is tough but then it becomes much easier. The cravings dissipate and you think less about food. I went OMAD which helped and am still largely on that eating regime.
Lost 15kgs and am a 63yr old with heaps of energy. Profound effect on my life
@@grantharding8868 That is awesome. Upon reading comments and doing some research, I was almost waiting for all the changes my body was about to experience. In regards to the first couple of weeks. Thanks much.
@@mr.beatthamorningjust make sure you eating enough fat…it’s what keeps you full. The myth is “protein keeps you full” when it’s actually fat. They inverted this when pushing us into grain-based diets (and is probably kinda true on such a diet).
You can never eat too much butter or meat fats. If you can get to the point where you just eat a chunk of ribeye fat by it does then you’re golden 😎
Steamed fresh broccoli is actually quite delicious! No effect on my gut anyway. That's good for twice a week, for the rest it is meat, fish, eggs, cheeses and occasionally nuts like raw macadamia.
Hi Dr. Chaffee, since cancer is a metabolic disease that seems to be held off by the ketogenic diet, are there any studies looking at cancer rates when exposed to chemical carcinogens on and off the ketogenic diet? Say maybe in rats exposed to benzene or another carcinogen. I would guess the rats on keto would have lowers rates which could help convince people that cancer is indeed a metabolic disease.
A lot of very powerful corporations and government entities probable block such studies from seeing the light of day.
@Stephen_Stalking That would be a good question to ask Dr. Thomas Seyfried. Perhaps his lab has done such a study.
Hi from Connecticut 🙏 great to see you both gentlemen!!
I was on the Carnivore Diet for 13 months. Unfortunately for me, it destroyed my health. I had a colonoscopy back in July, my 2nd one in a year. The results were my colon is full of diverticulosis. Every segment is full of it! The 1st colonoscopy, one year prior, showed none. I now live in constant pain on my lower right side and pain on my left side. 13 months. 😢
Healthline state - “Fat doesn’t break down into glucose when it’s digested. That means it doesn’t directly cause blood glucose levels to rise.”
I know right, Thomas said fatty coffee make sugar go high but it’s the coffee that does that not the fat. I thought dr. Chaffee was going to correct him.
@@HeleneTremblay-dw9ov Yes I thought it was confusing and a little alarmingly given how much cream I’ve been having for the fat content. Thomas did slip in “theoretically” given the glycerol backbone 🤔. I’m thinking what could happen though is the fat cream in the coffee when absorbed stimulates glucagon release into the blood that in turn up regulates our metabolism for fat burning but the glucagon also stimulates the release of stored glucose in the liver to burn so indirectly may raise blood glucose???
I had 1 potato - no skin, 2 fried eggs and some beef or sausage every morning - still gradually lost good weight
Too many oxalates in potatoes. Not a good health option.

I quit carnivore after 4 months because I wanted to eat fruit and got influenced by saladino. Im a boxer and feel no difference energy wise. Im gonna go back to carnivore when fruit season is over
If you've heard one video, you've received the message.
I wonder if we lost our body hair due to the fact we were carnivores and had plenty of animal skin to keep our self warm.
Dr Chaffee was just trying to be diplomatic - Saladino is absolutely out of his mind
Saladino, lol, wrong vid??
He is mentioned early on in the video.

Carnivore wasn't working for him. He changed to what did. Ya definitely out if his mind.
@@southern842 He endorses eating hundreds of grams of sugar a day in the form of fructose. No carnivore of sound mind would do that.
Finished an almost fasted (2 eggs+bacon) 3hr bicycle ride, with 30min race speed in between, burning 1800 kcal. Only drank water. Blood sugar before ride 5.6, after 5.9 (Higher!!). Thats proof you don't need to eat carbs.
Love how you make it make sense!
I was told I can't eat red meat because I had my gull bladder removed so it would not digest properly. Is there anybody successfully doing carnivore missing internal organs? As a life-long vegetarian I'm new to this entire idea.
Yes I've heard of quite a lot of people have successfully become keto/carnivore without a gallbladder. You can buy a product off dr Eric berg to help digest fats but just to start you off (bile salts)
You can totally do it, try taking digestive enzymes and ox bile before each meal. Start with small portions and work up. Chew meat very thoroughly, eat slowly and enjoy it.😊
Search RUclips for‘carnivore gallbladder’ and you’ll get a ton of videos about successfully doing carnivore without a gallbladder.
Allow me to share my Carnivore experience and struggles:
I have been eating meat and eggs for more than 8 months.(Red meat most of the time. Cut= Chuck steak) I am a healthy individual with no chronic diseases. I started the carnivore diet to lose body fat without being hungry or starving myself.(body recomposition + satiaty)
I am 180cms tall, 185 lbs, and +-21-22% BF. I have not lost any body fat in the last almost 4 months.(My goal is to be 15%BFor less, what would require me to lose at least 15lbs of fat)
I eat 500-600g of meat COCKED (usually read meat/Chuck steak. Sometimes i eat chicken) and 6-7 eggs. I also do strength training 2-3 times a week to help lose body fat and maintain muscle mass.
Weirdly or not, i also have not experience most of the Carnivore diets benefits so famous in the Carnivore community, such as Boost in energy levels, Better sleep and etc.
Allow me to ask some question about the Carnivore diet:
1- What adjustments do I need to make to lose body fat on a carnivore diet, without being hungry?
2- Should I use the CICO model if I can't lose body fat on a carnivore diet? (should i start counting my calories to lose bodyfat?)
3- How long should it take to evaluate the carnivore diet (I've had poor results so far and i am starting to consider to quit)
4- How do I calculate how much fat and protein (even calories) I should eat on a carnivore diet to lose body fat without, being hunry or starving myself?
5- Is it a problem to eat leaner cuts of meat?
Thank you!
Dr Anthony..youre the man! Ive been on a carnivore diet for 2 months now. Ive lost 25lbs and ALL of my lipid blood markers went down. What’s up with that? Cholesterol 140 down from 230, triglycerides 50 down from 110, HDL stayed the same at 44, LDL dropped to 70 from 140, Cholesterol/HDL ratio 3 down from 5. Im having the reverse effects that all these doctors tell us. Ive been pretty much doing the Lions diet. What’s up any guesses?
O 😮it took until 8 hours ago to copy an identical article. Well done
Woah! Two health Titans discussing carnivore! 😮
Was this video posted on Tom's channel. I can't find it there.
Question: Can you do a video about the sweetener called Allulose? IT appears to block glucose receptors, helps with weight loss, and reduces appetite. It also appears to stabilize sugar levels and Ketone levels preventing spikes in either direction. Can you objectively balance the use of it with Carnivore for the cravings for sweets and/or provide a distinct understanding about not using it if is really better to avoid? Thanks. I use the Budwig Protocol for cancer. 5-7 days a week, once a day. Usually in the mornings. I often add berries and Stevia to sweeten for taste. I will use Allulose if it is better.

Australians will understand my comment for Dr Chaffee. Bruce Pascoe could learn from you re traditional Aboriginal diets😂
Statement and a question, I started carnivore diet a month ago I feel great, joints hurt less and even in hot and cold temperatures I feel better, not sweating while it’s hot and don’t need the Airco as much, but because of my job, I own restaurants every couple of weeks I have had to eat carbs to test the food, and I am sweating all over the place and I feel horrible, nothing I can really do about it but will keep up with the diet, one thing I noticed is that I have A-Fib, so numerous times of the day I am used to my watch setting off an alarm telling me it’s happening, funny thing is since I started it hasn’t gone off once, is it possible that all those carbs were messing with my heart?
They do mine, I get hbp and worse circulation every time I cheat and eat carbs, beer, or sugars.
Wine tasters spit out the wine...just saying!
I wonder if dry pinto beans are toxic. I used to eat dry pinto beans as a child. I don't recall how many I would eat at once though. Probably only one maybe two at a time.
It doesn't work for everyone unfortunately. I, for example, am having rather unpleasant constipation from all those meats.
What should we be feeding infants (aside from milk) if vegetables are toxic? Seems like a large portion of their diet is mashed vegetables between weening and solid foods.
I just cannot wrap my head around the fact that many countries in the Middle East and in Italy and Japan live long and healthy and they eat a lot of fermented and cooked vegetables and grains. I do not know if the people in these countries eat raw vegetables.
Carnivores don’t usually live that long. Even history’s most famous carnivore died of heart disease at 80. 80 seems to be the best some of these guys can hope for. BUT they are always very healthy and able up til they die.

Native Americans ate roots in addition to berries. Camas roots were a dietary mainstay of Native Americans in Idaho. The gathered and dried them for winter food and ate them like potatoes. They also gathered wild onions. They used no special preparation to ‘detoxify’ them, but did long-cook them to convert their high inulin (not a toxin) to a sugar. It was one of their main winter food sources. They dried both roots and berries to supplement their meat-rich diets.
Yeah I think the potatoes are really fibrous though, nothing like what we have now. If we did have some plants they won’t have had anywhere near the carbs they have now. What you think?
So?
The Osage Indian tribe were perfect specimens of men. Thomas Jefferson wrote about how the Missouri Tribe was massive in stature, & they largely ate ruminant animal meats. The Chief was 7ft tall, & the average height of the tribe was well over 6ft.
This wasn't due to berry's & potatoes. 😅
Once the settlers killed off all the Buffalo, the Osage largely disappeared .
@@here_for_the sources please? Not doubting just wondering where you get your info.
You think animals such as buffalo etc… don’t come through in winter? They were eating dried meat also. There is NO WAY the human body can survive on root or any plant nutrients only. Especially in a harsh environment. I’d like to see you do it… ONLY those exact “foods” you said they survived on, And in your heated comfortable home for a few months. No supplements either, no BS.
Hey dr chaffee in the future are you gonna make workout videos?

Been carnivore for months, zero sugar almost zero carbs. I got the keto MOJO meter, to check ketosis, apparently even fasting for 24 hours, I'm not in ketosis.... so frustrating.
Also have prostate cancer, so avoiding sugar is huge, 24hr fast, still have a high glucose number, while zero sugar consumption...
Confused and frustrated.
If it still a couples of months that you are carnivore you are still healing. And you still eat some carbs it can take time if you had diabetes or pre diabetes before for the glucose to go down. Also if you take it when you get up your glucose can be high it’s called the dawn effect.
@HeleneTremblay-dw9ov
Thank you... yes I had prediabetes in April when I started carnivore. I was wondering how much time it takes to heal the cells/metabolism.... as far as carbs, it's less than 10 per day, I guess I assumed that fasting would be way faster results. The crazy thing, even with all this, my cancer is reducing and shrinking... I am blessed with that...

Having used herbalism and grazed a variety of livestock on very diverse pastures and woodlands all my life I have observed again and again that humans are born with more knowledge of herbalism than what they can learn in a life time. Using taste and satisfaction the ability to get dosage 100 % correct is very high. Processed foods and addiction where eating is for emotional reasons completely over rides this in born wisdom. I grew up eating apples onions potatoes oats wheat beef eggs chicken milk with milk being about 80% of my calories. Dispite what so many say about agricul ture and wheat being the staple food the reality for agriculture is that milk was always the staple food. And that from animals eating hundreds or even thousands of different plants.
i noticed alot of women go on carnivore diet to loose weight, but i need to gain weight.. im right in the pre menopause so thats what started me eating more meat to get my hormones calm. My question is; how can i gain weight if i leave the carbs out?
