You've done a great thing for me, thank you. These videos help me stay sane sometimes. Also, the history is the best part, stop thinking of it as babbling we don't want to hear!
My ruger 10/22 is good enough for me. What I really want right now is a transferrable m2 carbine (Ian brought me to this conclusion.) :) Too bad the one I was eyeing got auctioned, and too bad I'm buying a bergara b14 bmp right now :(((

Jacob, I had a Charter Arms AR-7 that did that. After 200 rds or so it would unexpectedly go full auto. Not safe and not funny. At the range or in the woods. I cured this by cleanings after every 150-175 rounds and using Remington Thunderbolt ammo for reliable feeding. Freakin' embarrassing at the range. Fuhgeddaboudit.
Literally the same thing I was thinking 😅. Not a bad design to be honest, but if I were going to spend any good money on PPS/50 I'd prefer it to be chambered in 9mm.
sorry to be so off topic but does anybody know a tool to log back into an Instagram account..? I stupidly forgot my password. I would appreciate any tips you can offer me!
I like the PPSH-41 and I understand why they are so expensive after the federal full-auto ban of '86 but I can never get around the fact that I'm paying thousands of dollars for what is essentially scrap metal. These guns were being churned out like hotcakes during the war, they used low quality steel and wood, they were stamped not machined and if you look at one closely you will see that pretty much everything from the stamping to the assembly is sloppy and uneven. I get it, that's all part of the charm of these guns, but the idea that something that any half-decent metal worker could make in their backyard out of scrap-metal if it were legal is now worth tens of thousands of dollars is just crazy xD
@@envrnmntlsm yup. If you want a legal and authentic WW2 SMG you have to pay for all the paperwork, tax and in many cases outbid all the other people looking to buy the gun because the best place to sell this stuff is at an auction.

Insert the tool, which looked a bit like a large paperclip, into the hole, hinge it forward, slide a cartridge in, then use the tool to push it into place. with practice, the 50 rounds can be loaded with ease. The tools are often lost and rarely come with the gun when bought used. I hollowed out a place under the butt plate to keep a spare, and when i worked 3rd shift in a machine shop in the 1980's, I use to make spare ones, which I sold at $5 each in the old GUN LIST publication Also, I know that in shooting, the gun is very surprisingly accurate, but the basic issue is that .22 ammo gets pretty 'gummy' or dirty, and after about 250 rounds, you have to stop & clean it. Also, there are two recoil springs in the rear, and they are easily kinked. if that happens, you can find a similar spring at Brownells. This is a very special gun to me, as I had one marked BINGHAM. I added a soviet 3.5x PU scope in hand lapped noubts and it was quite a neat little fun gun!

The Bingham PPS-50 retailed for $225 in 1983 and came with a 50 round drum magazine. Extra drum mags were $35 and 30 round stick mags were $20. A hell of a lot has changed in 37 years. I first read about it in a 1983 issue of " Popular .22's" magazine by Phil Engeldrum. I knew a guy looking to sell his and he wanted $200 for the gun and two magazines (one 30rd and one 50rd). It makes me sad that I cannot own something like this with the drum mag, as it is basically impossible to get a class D licence here in Australia. Man do I love SMGs. Since it is nearly impossible for me acquire a real full auto smg, I like to collect 22 smg look a likes which are nice because cheep to buy and cheep to shoot. Also, the pps/50 looks more like some of those Swiss and Finnish smgs rather than a pps43.
Václav Fejt nah, actual ППШ looks better then ППД и КП 31. But that's just imho. And I repeat, _looks._ I'm not talking about quality or going to argue about war effectiveness.
Another option is bb guns as you don't need a license to own a bb gun in most of the us, however of course people are paranoid of those as well. A fully automatic bb gun is harmless and the most you can do is poke somone in the eye, but that has never stopped new york.
Hey Ian pietta was suppose to make a 22lr mini Sterling would be nice if you do a video on that !! By the way I bought a pps-50 however mine has à weird tactical chassis on it
That cinches it..... if there's a market out there for a .22 PPSH, I'm gonna follow through on an idea I have for a .22 "repro" of a timeless design.... I won't say anymore than that. Maybe a phonecall to the folks at Pietta is in order.
They need this in 22WMR for Adults and a 17HMR or I guess this 22LR would be perfect for kids!!! If I was to get a 22LR, I would definitely put SuperSonic 1400FPS Mini-Mags through it, I do love Rimfire "Fun Guns", but I want it to serve a purpose if it needed too, like The full auto AM-180 .22LR that actually seen service in either WW2, Korea, or Vietnam I don't recall at the moment abut anyone including me or anyone else who knows guns, ballistics, a smith, or str8 up "Gun Nerds" would say, "if you can't drop a medium-large target with a full Drum or 30round Stick Mag in 22LR you dont deserve or have enough practice to play with the bigger boys toys", lol. I've seen ppl with absolutely no experience with a gun and havent even seen a real one, yet they know more about weapons and the damage they do then me and lots of experienced ppl, simply from playing very detailed new video games all day, specifically every War Strategy Game and Detailed First Person Sh00ter games, but they dont know the reality of it or how to handle a weapon properly as Video games teach you bad Trigger Discipline as your finger is always on the Trigger Button so thats one thing I notice when war game nerds, I'm talking spoiled basement kids who play all day every day, not actual Vets or Gun Lovers who happen to like the New realism of video games. Anyway lol I would definately consider this but I'd use Mini-Mags, i dunno how a drum in 22mag would perform and it would definately need an upgrade, specifically a larger ejection port and a drum about 2-3cm thicker than that, but that one does look decently thick, however it's on a short rifle so it would need to be a lil wider probly and a 17HMR or 22WMR Barrel switch but 17HMR is necked down 22WMR so the magazines drum or stick could be used for both 17HMR/22WMR, if Kel-Tec can pull off their wicked CMR30 short rifle in 22WMR and the PMR30 pistol in 22WMR with mostly tough plastics and 3D printers, then Pietta can do it, 22WMR is hands down the best Rimfire Round and out of a rifle barrel they travel from 1900-2750 FPS and 16-1850FPS out of a 4-5inch barrel pistol, super Lethal, Super Fast, much Cheaper Rounds then centrefire 5.7x28 and the speed and damage is pretty dam close to the same as 5.7, even S&W cashed in on 22WMR with the 30 round M&P 22Magnum, and Walther recently with the 15 round WMP 22WMR, ballistically 22mag is 2-2.5× more powerful and Lethal then the 22LR, especially the 1900-2200FPS JHP Rounds that actually frag, unlike basically useless 22LR hollow points that do nothing but slow the bullet down cuz the point of toothpick barely fits in the end so they dont frag at all with soft targets, if it's a steel or hard cement or ceramic wall it'll crush, but hardly fragment, 22mag is just slightly wider so they actually frag, and round nose slugs like Speer Gold Dots cruise at 2500FPS from a rifle and will most likely enter and exit if nothing hard is in the way that screws with uts trajectory. I love 22WMR and 22LR and both can definately be used for defense if your experienced, I just love how a 22mag is twice as loud and spits fire and a slug will travel alot further then a 22LR slug. Lol anyone else agree Pietta should make a 17HMR/22WMR editions????
Its not a bad looking .22, wonder if you can get a choice in furniture color? (also, what would happen if you replaced the rubber dummies with live rounds?)
Don't. Get. Aftermarket. Mags. Especially the drum. Or if you do, DO NOT try to take the cover off and load it that way. It's a major pain to snap back together and the spring gets easily bent out of shape. Don't pay more than 50 or 60 for it, that's for sure.

Do does anybody know where I can find a detailed explanation on how is ppsh machine gun drum magazine works particularly the magazines spring box
just check the forgotten weapons ppsh videos :)
Roger Wennström unfortunately the video doesn't explain the magazines spring box I just can't make heads or tails of that one but thank you for suggestion
To be honest,it looks more like a PPD-40 than a PPSH-41.Who here agrees?
Definitely not George S.Patton troll um português aqui, e bom ver que não sou o único
Ghost Warrior É sempre bom saber que não estamos sozinhos.
Definitely not George S.Patton troll looks more like a Beretta 38A
I was thinking the same thing. It doesn't really remind me of a PPSH41 nearly as much as a PPD.
Piettà in italian language is used when you ask at some one to do stop to do samthing of bad
nope,is pietà! and the same world can be use for say for give me,have marcy
we need daily videos back!
Looks more like a PPD than a PPSh in my opinion, still very cool.
Lucas Hagg looks like a Beretta 38a
I see a lot of 10/22 in that thing... Even when I'm not looking at it as a 22lr gun. I think the designer liked the Ruger 10/22.
reminds me of a PPD-40
An M1, Sterling, and this thing all together in one lot? Oh I need to watch that one, especially with such a low estimated value.
Looks more like a PPD-40 than a PPSh.
chris deyoung
more like Suomi if we go by looks then.
And that makes it even cooler.
+Václav Fejt+ not really
Václav Fejt
nah, actual ППШ looks better then ППД и КП 31. But that's just imho.
And I repeat, _looks._ I'm not talking about quality or going to argue about war effectiveness.
By looks the PPŠ-41 wins, true, but KP/-31 has that cool factor for those who know how good the gun is.
If an m14 in 7.62x39 is communist heresey, does that make this capitalist heresey?
Ulysses S. Grant If that is true, well damn, guess I'm a heretic to both!
Another option is bb guns as you don't need a license to own a bb gun in most of the us, however of course people are paranoid of those as well. A fully automatic bb gun is harmless and the most you can do is poke somone in the eye, but that has never stopped new york.
Hey Ian, do you know if you'll be able to check out a fedorov m1916 again?
Cool.
Peter Wishneusky ummm why put up this comment if you're not going to elaborate?
.22 chauchat incoming!
ExplosiveBarrels or a .22lr musket!!!!
ExplosiveBarrels a .22lr blunderbuss!!!!
Let me explore the idea a bit first (like with Pietta).
Is that drum gear Nylon or reain ceramic?
Not nocking it, reminds me upscaled of when replacing worn out gears on various cordless drills.
P.S. if Nylon etc wiuld that system be viable on a .302
Its not a bad looking .22, wonder if you can get a choice in furniture color? (also, what would happen if you replaced the rubber dummies with live rounds?)
That safety and the bolt really look similar to the AR-7. Interesting. When I first saw this I was really hoping it was a 9mm. Oh, well.
I have always wanted this pietta but in nj we have a 10 round mag limit.
Looking like Suomi.
Ireneusz Fleszar are you Finnished mate?
All time we learning.
Ireneusz Fleszar just so you know I was jokingly asking whether or not you’re from Finland/Suomi
Too bad it's not in 9mm ;-;
So the drum works in a nearly identical way to the Nerf 25- and 35-round drums. Interesting.
Keywords here FUN TO SHOOT.
Don't. Get. Aftermarket. Mags. Especially the drum. Or if you do, DO NOT try to take the cover off and load it that way. It's a major pain to snap back together and the spring gets easily bent out of shape. Don't pay more than 50 or 60 for it, that's for sure.
Look like PPD-34
Looks more like a PPD-40 than a PPSH-41
How do lock the bolt back to put in /release mag?
This makes me want to bust a cap on a business owner who hasn't been paying for protection
