Good job again. I love this song, and you play it well. One thing in particular that impresses me about your playing is that you put all of the nuances into the riffs, and though you are "Busy" while playing, you flow through the song in a seemingly effortless way. It's like you are soloing without losing any of the rhythmic foundation of the bass line. I hope that made sense. I am having trouble explaining it...you're shredding in a seemingly effortless way.
Thanks very much, that was Great! I dusted off the ATWAS album after you had mentioned it in a few posts. I love how the harmonics that end this one make up half of the "space noises" going into 2112. No samplers, just Alex cranking the knob on the delay pedal! Thanks again,Cheers!
@EntustinMeYourLife It is a bit of a strange record but, like anything else associated with RUSH, is worth a listen. There are a couple of really pretty songs on the album beside Lakeside Park, like Panacea and Bacchus Plateau. Thank you for viewing and commenting. You're becoming a regular of sorts over here.
@JimmyJames714 ATWAS was my introduction to RUSH so, rough as it may be in spots, it will always hold a special place in my thoughts. Thank you and your welcome.
Thanks a lot. I've always strived to work out the smallest details when learning songs and Geddy puts more little nuances in his bass lines than just about anyone else I can think of.
@fremen99 Hello and thank you. I have done YYZ. You should be able to find it under the "RUSH Covers" playlist on my channel or just search "YYZ bass cover" in the RUclips search box.
@fboriani Thanks. I'll give the songs you mentioned a listen when I get the chance. As far as an "easy" RUSH song to play on bass, I'll have to give that some thought. I'm thinking I would start with the first album because the arrangements and time signatures are pretty straight forward.
@constantine2112 Thank you Constantine. And thanks for educating me on the significance of May 24th, while I assumed it was a holiday of some sort I never knew it's origin. And yes, we Americans do enjoy blowing things up from time to time.
I've always loved this version of lakeside park! Great Cover can i recomend cygnus x-1 off of the different stages disk 3, its from like 78 i think, ive always loved that more than the studio version too
@hershism I don't know much about them, but I do know that there is quite a big market for those masks out there - both MM and Jason. Some can get quite expensive I understand.
Where do you get the time, Troy? You have so many videos- I am so jealous LOL! You are awesomeness! Kick ass :D Thanks so much for sharing your talent with all of us!
great! i think they improved every song they did on ATWAS over the studio versions. i used to bass to every song of atwas with the album and i covered some of those versions on drums in a band i was in when i was 16 and 17.
@ValsLife Valerie, must I remind that you are the Queen of RUclips and it is not fitting for you to say that you are envious of one of your subjects. But thank you in any case.
@edguyrocks ran out of characters...ricks are also cool in the middle of the neck and that's where they excel. You really can't sustain an F or F# on one of those things for very long on the E string, but from he 5th to the 12th fret ricks just sing. Of course, part of the rick vibe is that kind of ganky non sustained tone in the lower registers as well.
Hey - I see all your masks in the back and was wondering if you have a good Michael Myers mask? So hard to find a good MM mask that actually looks like the original. Nice bass cover again - nice fluid lines.
@edguyrocks - Ricks hve always been kind of a one trick pony. I had a 78 for over 20 years and had to sell it. Lots of basses come close, but none quite sound exactly like them. That said, Geddy makes the jazz sound awful close. so can you with lots of practice. Most of sounding like GL is learning how to play like him, not the axe. Back on topic, ricks are unusual in neck through in that they don't have a lot of fundamental in the low end.
@sticksbass
There was a lot of energy on that album, especially the bass. He took already complex parts to a new level.
@Fenderwolf95
Thank you. I'm not a big fan of the first album material so I hadn't planned on doing In The Mood.

the 24th of may! I always come back to this video to prep for the next band rehearsal!
Welcome back.

Thank you and your welcome.
Wow! I just finished drumming this song, what a coincidence! I love this bassline. You play it perfectly as usual. Love your tone
Thanks a lot. I've always strived to work out the smallest details when learning songs and Geddy puts more little nuances in his bass lines than just about anyone else I can think of.
this has to be one of the all time greatest songs ever, one of my fav's
Great! (as always). Ever thought about covering In The Mood? One of my favorites
Great job! You opened my eyes to how involved ("busy" as others here put it) Ged's bass line is in this song! You make this Rush fan proud!

Thanks. I'd have to listen to that version.

@SteamDriven3
It's much simpler on the studio album. He really spiced it up live. Thanks.
@toxicfire83
In your first message you mentioned "sell" and I was responding to that.
I love this album I have it on vinyl (I'm an audiophile) great playing as always Troy
its that time of year!
Yes, it is!
Amazingly good cover
Cool.
@KingXanadu
Cool. Thanks a lot.
@2kosher
Thank you.
@toxicfire83
Thank you. I've never had an interest in sales or marketing.
@ValsLife

Thank You so much
Hi TJH, your Rush bass covers are very good. Have you do YYZ bass cover ?
@donminino777
Thank you.
@Basspowns
Thanks.
@Annonymus121
Thank you.
@wnils
Thank you.

Amazing playing! And the masks are great! (No sarcasm intended)
@harrycrowemusic1
Oh no you didn't. Lookout!
troy, have you ever giving it any thought about reversing the cam, view it left-handed....makes it easier for at least me to follow along...thx
No, I actually have not. I'm not sure if my camera could actually do that...or is it something I'd do with the computer?
@@TJH3113 im sure whatever ever video software you use has a feature to reverse the camera
Thanks. What masks?
I just visited the real Lakeside Park in St. Catherines. There's a Neil Peart Pavilion and they're raising money for a statue.
Very cool!
On the wall?
Masks.
