This is what BMW diagnostics did to my 2 series: Test Plan for misfires ans air leaks performed smoke test checked operation of tank vent valve PUMA measure CA63162504-18 relating to the fault code fault code caused by short trips
I have codes of rich mixture and I checked my vacuum reservoir and it has oil and the vacuum lines too, the car started to trough white blueish smoke trough the tailpipes. The smoke smell like something weird burned but it is not sweet as coolant. My oil cap and oil smell like pure gas so I am planning to replace the High pressure fuel pump and the vacuum pump, do you think this will resolve my problems? , car idle and runs normal its just the smoke and the check engine light for mixture too rich. long term fuel trims -30%, sometimes it's stalls after acceleration I need some help please.
sounds like a head gasket, do a leak down test using a head gasket tester, you don't necessarily need to see mayo, does the water reservoir smell of gas, if so, head gasket, but the high pressure fuel pump (HPFP) is also a well known culprit so try that first
I'm also now just wondering if the fact I had the hood "UP" while running this test and it effected the result ? However that said my problem resolved itself !
HI Arturs, thanks for the comment, so BMW could NOT find an issue, the code went, they did a leak down test, exhaust test and a few other things put it down to a TSARA (sara) tsb which said that if you don't drive the car enough, this could happen. said to monitor it, since then no problems, HOWEVER I BET, it will come back next year in winter, However not charged as car was under warantee.
@@AdrianJayeOnline I'm actually driving very little 10-14 miles a day and mostly using electric. I tested also with ista and I passed all tests without any issues. The only thing which concerns me is that when I open my oil cap it smells petrol a little. My car is 330e direct injection.
@@afkfavorite ok, so I do about that, 12km daily, 6km each way, the engine doesn't really get up to operating temperature. You/we need at least once a week to take it out for a hoon on the hiway say 20-30km's at high speed, whats also known as an Italian tune :) petrol, thank God someone using the right word :) that's' pretty normal. and I "THINK" that BMW will tell you your not driving the car enough, there is a PUMA TSB for this, they flat out tested my car and said I'm not driving the car enough. get a smoke test .. when I get in I'll tell you what they did, NOW, in summer this stopped happening. So I suspect in winter it will come back !
Hello, can you help with this please .getting below in ista. S 0204 No Communication possible with: Transfer Box . VTG module is red in module list tree. 4×4 abs lights on.. To add more details. When I first saw 4×4 aws lights and errors 52d1 vtg transducer server motor, 52d4 vtg incremental transducer 5f3a dsc transfer case internal .. after that took to dealer. He said need to replace transfer case actuator costing 2500$. Now when I scan seeing the above errors s0204 no communication with transfer case.. Not sure if dealer disabled the system to protect. There were no repairs done. Thanks much

sounds like a head gasket, do a leak down test using a head gasket tester, you don't necessarily need to see mayo, does the water reservoir smell of gas, if so, head gasket, but the high pressure fuel pump (HPFP) is also a well known culprit so try that first
