Thanks a lot for your videos. After replacing my injectors, coils en bougies on my 320i n43 I got a rough running engine en misfires on cylinder 4. Due your video I coded the new correct values en removed the fault code. Engine runs smooth and no more misfires! Thanks a lot!
Nice vid, had a similar issue on BMW 535I GT 2010 cylinder 1 was misfiring. Owner was told he needs to replace all six nozzles, he asked me to take a look which I did. Took out nozzle out found out it had carbon deposit blocked the tips. Used a pin to clear it, replaced the nozzle and done car ran smooth after wards. It's all about paying attention to details.
This was something new for me . I do a fair amount of injector replacements and coding . I never experienced a misfire due to wrong or not coded injectors . Flow rates off yes but a true misfire never and if I would have that particular car I would do the coding and would be really surprised that it fixed the problem . Great video Luis . I learned something today .(edit) I have had cars that needed to be updated , but this solved rough idling .

Nice find, I wouldn't have thought that those numbers on an injector must be a perfect match with what's recorded in the ECU memory, in order for a motor to run.
what is it ? they tried everyone else first then bring the bodge job for you to put right ? big respect to you for all you do bro should charge double for these jobs
Very good and in depth diagnosis there! ive got a 325i that has rough cold starts, cylinders 5 and 6 always run rough on cold starts, misfire counters go up by allot but it doesnt illuminate the cel, will be pulling my injectors out to see if they are leaking, although spark plugs are always very dry and no smell of fuel, injectors are the index 11 ones, ive changed everything, spark plugs, coils, vanos solenoids and all o2 sensors, no change haha, my final conclusion are the injectors but they are coded correctly... im thinking that since cyls 5 and 6 run the hottest, my seals have gone, if not then il leak check them just to be sure, if not then i guess il just have to cry myself to sleep. 😀
@@LMAutoRepairs well... today was the day when I finally got all the seals and decoupling rings, and i took the injectors out, only to find them covered in oil as a few years back i had a rocker cover gasket leak, and... absolutely no decoupling rings in all injectors! The csr had the injectors replaced to index 11 under warranty, whoever did it were utter donkeys! Cleaned everything out replaced the teflon seals and decoupling rings on bank 2 and jeez she runs like never before! I think what happened is that there was no seal for the injector bore, the oil slowly ate away the teflon seal and on cold starts it had compression loss, cylinders 5 and 6 being the hottest ones must have accelerated the process as other cylinders ran fine, ish... but yeah problem solved! Ordered three more to do bank one and she should be sorted fully, only took a year to get to the bottom of the issue.
Thanks for a really informative video. I've had my BMW E90 318i N43 since 2016 at 35k miles (now 130k) and never had injector issue previously. I now have these fault codes with the car barely idling and just stalling and engine light on: P311B 2E32 fuel injector, cylinder 3, activation 30AE fuel injector, cylinder 3, activation I guess all this points to a leaky fuel injector and fouling of the spark plug, but interested you mention the electrical connections to the injector should be checked too. Is it Ok to pull and replace injectors like this without worrying about the seals?
Probably had an engine change? Like the Jag X-type diesel you did a few years ago. Had another engine fitted but the injectors values werent entered into the ECU

Ps :cylinder no 2 has index 11 others have index 8 , thank you .
Hi Never had issues coding those injectors... Might not be a must, must I would get all the injectors with the same index... Have you checked compression? 👍👍👍

Noticed today the Nox sensor not present? It does run very rich as well 23mpg combined. Oxygen sensors seem to be ok equal value on both . I have notice mixture 2 adaptation is -26 ,although I did get few code yesterday after 1 hour of running (002C28, 002C7F) by the way where you based ? Maybe I could bring it to you to have a 👀 . If I then increase the revs to 3000 rpm at idle, the error disappears, but only sometimes. The fault memory is empty and the spark plugs, ignition coils have already been replaced on all 4 cylinders. According to the workshop, the injectors are also running well. Maybe you know what the problem might be.

Car is still missfires, “mechanic” is sayings that in time injectors will learn again to work fine but after 1 week of driving car is still showing engine light on after 20 minutes of driving. After driving 30km like i didn't do nothing same problem same code . Its make me crazy. !!!! Any idea ? Maf sensor map sensor new . All cables and connectors ok . 2 venus valve changed. 🤯

I have missfire zyl1. The injectors are 4 years old. Have you ever tested to change just one instead of all the 4? Because it's really expensive.
Offcourse... make sure it is the injector, and replace just the faulty one...

Ideally you change the seals, but to test you can definitely do it, once you find the problem, you can then replace all the seals...
