Nelson Paint. I used to actually work there making paintballs. They created the paintball gun to mark trees to be cut for the logging industry. Obviously hijinx ensued and the people marking the trees started marking eachother. After that an industry was born. If you can, stop into Nelson's for a tour. It's fascinating how they are made using a proprietary machine process.
I love this channel. You are such a decent man, such a good businessman, so interesting, so engaged in what you do, so knowledgeable, so entertaining. I watch the videos to cheer myself up about humanity.
Pete, I would consider hanging a camera above the counter to add an overhead shot to make it easier to see the stuff people bring in. One often can't see what you're talking about in the long shot you're currently taking from the end of the counter. And you may find other advantages in this view that are yet to be discovered. Cheers!
Pete is the most fair honest pawn owner I personally ever saw. Thank you for being a good honest business owner not looking to take advantage of broke people. Rare to find in 2023.
That Nelson paintball gun is used in the logging industry to mark trees. Nelson paint invented the first gel filled paintballs. They are still in Iron Mountain, Mi and in Oregon. Maybe even in one of the Southern states logging areas.
Those El Gamo's have a leather seal on the piston and need to be oiled. If you keep them oiled they will last forever. Ten drops of 3-1 oil then work and release the trigger holding the barrel a bunch of times. The screws in the back of the trigger guard are to adjust the trigger. .177 is the better round. Smaller but lighter with a harder impact just under 800 FPS. the 22 round is just under 600 FPS.
the paintball "Marker" in the start of the video is an early Marking pistol,in the adult adventure gaming industry we generally do not call them guns, the nelson paint company originally designed your pistol for marking trees for processing,i am guessing the marker you have is an early concept of the industry because of the short magazine it has, these were called nelspots,an early marker pistol of capture the flag games or tree marker either way its a nice old piece of history, its a .68 caliber
He omits they are not dumpster finds, he states he works at the store and sets the disposal items aside prior to being placed in the dumpster. What is actually happening here is labeled theft by the company standards as he is not following protocol to place in the dumpster and removes the items prior. Most people will look at this as he is saving it from being ruined/contaminated by the dumpster and used by someone who needs a good deal. It’s the old half full/half empty talk as each side sees it different. This person made an extra $400 this week of work by taking the company trash to Pete.
@@joeambly6807 Right, especially pet stuff, why send new stuff to a trash dump when they could donate that stuff to shelters... who cares what this guy does with it if they were just gonna letit rot in a landfill, that's absurd.
Good lord Pete!! I am 60 , in my 20's I went paintballing for the first time, that was the gun, the most awkward useless piece of junk I have ever seen, if you did get it loaded most of the balls broke in the barrel and by then you had been shot a dozen times.... THANK YOU for the memory...❤❤
The air rifle is very nice. The paint ball gun was amusing to me when you said it was vintage. I remember when it hit the sports scene. Up to that point we would play with bb guns. Lol I guess I am vintage now.
Love all your videos, one thing that is quite Interesting is the gun and knife thing, its such an everyday thing there but here it is something we havent grown up with in our culture and sometimes feels a bit alien because we just dont experience it here. Im not saying it as a right or wrong thing but simply an indication of how our cultures can vary widely.
I remember those paintball guns when I was a kid. About 30 years ago, they were the budget models about $70 or less brand new and you would reload them with narrow tubes of paintballs. They were priced just below all the Tippman models. Those old budget markers aren't really usable in a modern paintball game with hoppers, electronic triggers, and much larger reload pods, because of that, they don't have much value at all. There are some old paintball equipment that does have a lot of value such as the first automatic paintball markers ever made which were the original autocockers and if they are in a functioning state, they can go for a lot more money than were originally priced brand new.
Pete i do Livestreams every Tuesday and Wednesday Night Treasure Hunting on the Streets of LA. I come across some amazing stuff!! even end up at celebrity parties 🥳 🎉.
Gr8 buys Pete..🤔 That guy gave you fair prices on pretty much everything he brought in..😍😲 Love the vintage Air Rifle you showed at the end..👀😉 Take care guys..👍💕🔥👊
Pete that $100 from 1985! I wish you would've checked it out. It worth more then the face value and rarely you ever see it. Oh well.. Hope you can make money on these items?
Hey Pete at the beginning of the video he said he sell both bird heaters for $20.00 bucks. Then he changed it and said $40.00. You paid $40 he ripped you off $20 bucks….🤔🤔🤔🤔🤨🤨🤨🤨 That guy is a fast talker. Rewind the video and you’ll see I’m correct…🌟🌟🌟
That nellspot 707 pistol Western holster and if it works will sell for upward of 700 to $1,200 hey this is Wolf the guy that called about the antique slot machine hope things are going well
It never fails to amaze how much people think they know. They come with “it’s worth this” or “it’s worth that!” or “It’s this much at Walmart!” Especially these older guys and the reason I say that is because many older people grew up when pawn shops were much different with how they price stuff. They didn’t just have “eBay” and look it up and you could not only find real deals/steals but also get much more than something’s worth. Not anymore. From what I’ve seen, things like eBay or Craigslist has drastically reduced the value and rarity or accessibility of items. Yet they come I thinking they are going to get a few dollars less than Walmart sells it. It’s crazy. Most pawn shops will barely give you one/fifth of its value and sell it for like 3 times as much as they have to make profit. that’s how it works. Sometimes you can get more if you build a rapport with the owners but in the end it’s a business and they’re not gonna lose their ass.
"I know the manager" says the guy selling stuff supposedly from the pet store dumpster. More likely though, we're talking the new scam where the store managers claim merchandise was lifted by black raiders - and maybe some was - but this is stuff the manager set aside and moved out the back door via his buddy here, who goes around selling the stuff and splitting proceeds with the store manager.
Hi Pete, is it possible to have the camera somehow positioned facing down on the receiving table? Would be interesting to see items received more closeup.

Yeah I don't I don't think you're correct in your assumption that that was her regular paintball marker it's called a tranquilizer gun for a reason

I'm 36 and we played with bb guns too, we had the one pump rule, but there was always that one Ahole that would give it a few extra pumps.
That paint gun looks EXACTLY like Han Solo's blaster
What a country, sweet how Pete talked to that one dude with accent!!!
When you first held up the pistol, I thought for sure it was an old school tranquilizer gun.
I have that same paintball gun and another like it called a PGP and it was a pump pistol. They kind of look like Han Solo's blaster imo.
