I've got a sponsorship and I've never thought to ever search a youtube video on how to attain one, nor even what it means to have one and to make it work. So thumbs up for doing a video on what I had to learn through trial and error, anybody who watches this video now has an added advantage over those who don't.

Having a unique car would probably help too. I drive a VA STI. There’s like a bazillion of those on the road so I feel like that would make it harder to get sponsors than if I had an R8 or an Alfa 4C or something. Or one of the first to get a new 400z.
Probably wouldn't help either... best thing is to build your car for a specific reason and then go do that specific thing, build connections in the specific race scene, and use those connections.
I want to eventually get into motorsports, and sponsors is probably the most essential thing, especially with something like rally cross, where you possibly eat up wheels, suspension, and bumpers, even if your good.

i recently just got asked if this brand importworx wanted to sponsor me. it requires me to buy a product from their website to get the sponsorship but i just haven’t gotten around to it. i’m currently 17 years old with an 02 Acura Rsx Type-S. its definitely not a looker or grabs attention compared to all these 350z’s and mustangs. i’m going for a more simplicity build. once i’m done putting on my full mugen lip kit all i’ll need is wheels and its complete in my opinion.

I personally don't have sponsors so my words probably don't mean much but I'd recommend trying to get with smaller more local brands and shops? Some people I know went that route. Also posting and talking about your plan for the car in somewhat detail and making memes while you wait can't hurt
I think it funny places act like they doing u a favor sponsoring u when it actually helps them way way more cuz advertisement over a what 1k set of wheels ... not downing the wheels by any mean I love them but just one them things always got me ... like he saying in this vid it has to be a profitable choice for them if not u bent lol
The only people that get sponsored are the people that don't need it. Look at all the people on RUclips, let's take Cleetus for example. He has more than enough money to do what he does yet gets tons of free parts and whole engines! But take your average person that loves cars and spends more time wrenching than hanging out with their family, they get no love! Why? Because it takes money to make money. Life isn't fair and the world sucks! It is what it is... Probably a good thing life isn't fair because I would have been screwed years ago if it were!
Well yeah but they also get that stuff because they've built a fan base over time and the companies want to tap into that fan base. If you're a company you can take a gamble and sponsor a small build and hope it takes off or you can go with a dude already known for a little more money but the guarantee it will reach people
