Really nice truck, man. Always liked this body style in a single cab short bed, and the 4.6 is definitely much better than the 5.4 even though the 5.4 is good too as long as it’s the 2 valve.
I have a 99 Ford F-150 with the 5.4 and I love it i will never sell it

$12k is a good price for if you’re selling local but depending on what site your listing on you could definitely get more. Up here in NY clean and rare versions of this generation are starting to be collected and I’ve seen them go for 19k-21k

That’s called a Sylenoid
That is a rare truck. I was around when these were new and I think I saw 1. Its jumping the solenoid. These motors are pretty reliable and a bit more advanced than the chevys. Taxi and police cars use the 4.6 which is basically the same. Can't see great but that looks like undercoat. Imo that decreases the value of the truck. That will cause them to rust out. Fluid film or oil is the way to go up north. Buy a 99-04 lightning, I know there's tons of those in Texas. 90% of the time I see one its in Texas.

@@janthonyauto I'm a pretty big ford guy. I'm seeing the lightning continue to climb while some of the other fords that went up start to fall off.
@@motofarmmx2430 older fords never really bring big money unless it’s a lightning.. I’ve seen a couple crew cab 4x4 fords with low miles go high but not anymore. Honestly, the older ford market doesn’t really compare to the GMT800 market as far as them holding value/ appreciating..
@@janthonyauto ill agree. I watch a lot of generations of mustangs and both gen lighting. Foxbodies for example have been coming back down unless its a Saleen or cobra. Obs 7.3 brings good money but I don't follow that market close same as excursion.
I feel like powder coating is expensive and uncommon, up north we use Wool Wax and Fluid Film which are lanolin based, I would stay away from Ziebart undercoatings because if moisture gets in there it will rust
