Nice. Simple and straight forward. I thought it would be more complicated. I need to replace the rear wall blanket as the high mount stop light assembly developed a seal leak and ruined it.. Thanks.
Thanks for the straightforward video explanation. We just got a 2007 at auction and the last owner smoked. Shampooing it has done wonders but hubs couldn't figure out how to get to the backside of the backseat. Thanks again!

Good video. I just bought the same year/make/model truck as you. When rotating the rear seat bottom up, to give more floor space, the seat won't stay up if a little downward pressure is added to the seat or if the truck goes over bumps. The locking hinge is on the passenger side. I can see a thin bar going up and down as I pull and release the strap. Any idea what the typical problem is, how to replace the locking hinge and where to get something like that? Looks like there's a Philips screw in the center of the locking hinge, I assume where the spring is. Thanks.
I recently got a 2004 GMC extended cab, but having trouble with the back rest coming out. SO....just lift., which I was hoping for! The previous owner seemed to have lost the center cables, no worries there! Thank you!
Thanks for this. I missed the center nut. Fun fact. The eyelet is easier to remove if you grab it in the center with pliers and wiggle. It gets caught on the threads.
great viedeo got me headed in the right direction but my 05 has tethers in both corners and the center. the tether on the right is under one of the bracket nuts that you are removing anyway but the one on the drivers side is stand alone so the nut has to come off. So 6 nuts total not 5 .
well what are those 3 brackets there behind the seat that just sit there and hold strap loops that stick up above the back of the seat but do nothing at all? can you just remove those?

Any idea if to install Rough Country seat covers on a 2007 Silverado crew, is removing the rear seats required? I installed everything else, but the rear vertical backs have those damn hooks...... :( Thanks!
It is very dangerous to have a folding truck. I know they only did a short production and the decided that due to the tendency to fold while driving and injure inhabitants to cease production and recall all units produced 😛 just messing, the folding "seats" may not fold if you have something jammed underneath behind them or the strap may be broken
The strap you're required to pull to release the seat so it folds up may 1) have slipped through the small slot in the fabric on the bottom of the seat (Mine did; it can be fished back through the slot with a coat hanger and some patience) or 2) the strap may have broken off previously and you'll have to remove part of the fabric on the seat bottom to release the catch with pliers or vise grips. Hope this helps.
Also had this issue when the seat is is down if there is pressure on it . The seat would not move. I simply either move the seat up or down and then usually the seat goes up.
The hooks on the back of the seats rattle, the rear door panels on the extended cab rattle. The door locks rattles. The steering column rattles. The ashtray rattles. The lever to open the center console rattles. I feel like this thing was designed by a kid with downsyndrome in the middle of downing vodka bottles
Awesome! Thank you for sharing; I think I can; I think I can, I think I can remove my backseat - thanks to your video presentation; I noticed the bolts underneath my backseat, but I wasn't sure how the seat-back would detach from the cab. I am trying to resolve my water in-flowing into my cab problem. I already removed the third brake light and did my best to remove and remake a gasket; however, I also need to replace the pressure vents. @@TheSundaeDrive Thanks to your video, I removed the backseat bench - Yippee Hercules! Hercules! Hercules! I used a 18mm socket with my 1/2 inch ratchet wrench to remove the anchor-nuts; I also had to remove the wheel jack-bracket, so I could lift up the carpet and carpet insulation. I used bungee cords to hold up the carpet/insulation, placed the space heater in attempt to dry the carpet insulation and the rubber backed carpet. I am regretting that I may have to remove the carpet, but that requires removing a lot more interior parts. I have a blue tarp covering the truck. Now I am trying to determine how best to remove the carpet insulation on the cab's back wall; seat-belt plastic cover; etc in a effort to get to the air pressure vents [I believe I need to replace]; I am also suspicious that water may be leaking through the weather stripping around the rear window; I will proceed with caution because I cannot afford to break something in the process of troubleshooting.

Thanks for the video!
Can you cut out the middle part of the rear seat to make it like to separate seats in the back and have that open space?
Can you leave those wires unconnected they look like ground wires?
When its time to reassemble the chair is it necessary to connect the cables that fastens to the 5th nut ?
Technically nothing is necessary but from a safety pov, you should always re-attach everything to do with restraints and seats
Thanks my friend..🤝

How to lay down the back seat in my 1999 GMC Sierra
What do you mean?
How do I lower the seat back in the rear seat without taking the whole thing out?
Can I just slide down the top half of the seat, I’m trying to put a cover on
