- On board my 182 for the last few minutes of the open trackday at Snetterton Circuit in Norfolk.
The car is completely standard, aside from a Yozzasport catback exhaust, Eibach Proline Springs and Solid Top Mounts. I'm also running semi slick tyres on the front axle, and normal road tyres on the rear (seemed a good balance for most of the day!) Авто/Мото
I know it's an old video, but useful. I'm at snetterton in my clio 172 after the lockdown so I'll be studying this. Good driving.
Fantastic place😊❤️

Wow mate you can really drive! I mean genuinely some of the best driving i've seen in a long time! Really wanting a 182 myself to be honest looking at them for the next couple of months. What sort of mileage do they do in terms of engine wise? im looking at ones with about 65 on the clock, is that a lot for the car? How much abuse can they take with knacking up? cheers mate, really enjoyed the Owners video too, infact it's that very video that put me off the RX8's and onto these ;)
Thanks mate, it was greasy that day so was trying to be smooth for a change! Mine's on 97,000 miles now, was on around 87,000 on that track day. As long as you stick to frequent servicing - I service mine every 6-7,000 miles/annually with top quality oil etc, they're mechanically bullet proof. And as long as you let them warm up before you drive hard, they thrive when driven hard. People assume Renault = issues, but *touch wood* mines never had any mechanical issues in three years of (hard) ownership. I'd always spend a few hundred more on a well looked after car than less on a bit of a knackered one, it'll save you in the long run. If you're looking for a cheap track toy, 172 Cups are great value for money (if you can live without air-con and part leather seats)
Sam Sheehan Wow mate cheers for the reply I mean yeah that's what I wanted to know to be honest I mean I'm gonna kick the hell out of but for sure I mean being honest I warm anything up before climbing the revs it's not worth the damage is it haha well i basically have a 1.6 estate car for business umm chucking mowers and stuff in the back it's great but I want something to piss about in I just prefer the overall look of the 182 and I suppose it's nice to have the leather seats etc haha. I would definitely service it yearly which for me would be about every 3000 miles haha definitely better to maintain the cars well. So no major issues mechanically? That's amazing. Anything to watch out for when buying a used one or any obvious problems that go on them? Cheers for getting back to me, appreciate it :)
Toby Bear No major issues at all, just make sure the car you view has had its belts (aux and cam) changed at a specialist as often your average mechanic won't have the correct tooling - which will mean the engine will lose performance as the timing will almost certainly be out - they're very sensitive to this. If you want the belts done it'll cost £500 ish too as they're a tricky job. I just made sure the car I bought had its belts recently done.
Also the engine should start almost on the key, and there shouldn't be any knocks/ticking sounds. If there are it could be issues with the vvt unit.
Get yourself on cliosport.net as it's full of cars of sale with great history, and there are experts on there. I always use it for advice
Late reply on this one, didnt see the comment! It's a Yozzasport cat back
You are same guy that did that interview/owners review vid? I liked that.
Yeah that's me mate :)
