John, Jurassic Park Lost World came out over 10 years ago and did not make a billion dollars. I think you were referring to the most recent Jurassic world movie.
I think john confused lost world with jurrasic world. Lost world came out in 97 and made 600 million not a billion
Yeah, I’m confused, you constantly say you don’t wanna do Collider 2.0 and yet you have tried the host thing several times to no avail. Plus why now, that you’re about a year away from retirement?

Honestly, I think it’s more for himself than any of us. I don’t mean that negatively, just I think he’s bored of doing this now and changing things up every now and again keeps him engaged for a while longer. I personally think he’s gonna be bored as hell when he retires or he’ll swiftly find some other venture to consume his time. Especially if Ann is not retiring as well.
I believe when Matthew mentioned ‘Lost World’, he was referring to the second film in the franchise:’The Lost World: Jurassic Park’, not ‘Jurassic World’
But Huey came to his senses and didn’t do it. His mom did. I do agree something still should be done though.
I agree I don’t feel the need to watch the Bear, but I will get to it soon knowing all episodes are ready to watch. I will probably watch it all at once like Ann. 😂
I watched it over 3 nights, it's great! If you liked the previous seasons you'll like this one.
It's amazing I thought it was over hyped at first, then I saw the first season and couldn't stop binging. It definitely lives up to the hype
I had 1 issue with Day One - it had nothing to do with A Quiet Place franchise. You can replace the aliens with the Last of Us fungus and the movie stays the same. Heck, you can replace the creatures with Bane and his army in the Dark Knight Rises and the movie still stays the same.

@@Liampaul95 For me, once they keep the quality of Andor, that's a yes. I would have thought Mandalorian, but S3 was hit or miss overall. I like a lot of the "Tales of..." stuff too, but it's hard to look at them in the same light.
29:51 I still think the best overall expansion of mutants, and building of X-teams, is a mixture sourced from two worlds (or more).
Bring some from another universe where mutants are widespread, team them with mutants native to the 616.
Basically, have that the reason they were rare in the MCU was because something was suppressing the mutant gene activating; but with introducing a few from an Incurring universe who get stuck here they investigate the scientific airborn pathogen, worldwide nanite swarm, ancient spell, or cosmic/alien artifact that prevented 99% of mutants from ever being empowered.
Anyone brought from elsewhere has the benefit of being in a time that is behind or ahead of our present day because the 1960s FF would have set the precedence; i.e., a 1980s world can give us our Magneto, coming into a 2026 setting, but still 50 and someone who lived through the WWII era without life extending powers. On the flip, Wolverine could be a local, born in the 1880s with his slower aging, but never seen and known because he was a Weapon Plus conscript, hidden and used for clandestinne ops for decades (precedence: Bucky). Bishop, on the other end of things, doesn't have to be from the 616 future, just a similar one that is already in the 22nd century; but all of them can come to a modern OG First Class that are completely new to their powers.

32:22 I just looked up who’s being credited as the writer, doesn’t look great honestly. Pan (2015), Ice Age 4,, it Chapter Two and Argylle? Woof. Their biggest accomplishment is Wonderful Woman but even then story on it was still kinda thin.

I wasn’t the biggest fan of Day one. Honestly the story didn’t interest me, we didn’t really learn anything new about the monsters and would have been nice if they explained what they were eating during that one scene.
Lupiter and Quinn’ performances were good but, I cared little about their characters throughout the movie and only barely cared about Quinn’ at the end. I liked his little PTSD moments and how he kept overcoming them.
The cat was kinda cool but, didn’t make sense that it barely made any noise except when it was convenient to do so. This film honestly should have followed Djimon Hounsou’ character imo, would have been a lot more interesting to me personally.
Maybe i’m being harsh but, it just didn’t live up to the previous films. I’ve rewatched them so many times and I don’t feel the need to watch this one again.
I disagree about the 24 hr tv spoilers because some of us watch your show halfway around the world . When a show drops 12am in L.A its 8am in Uk and im at work.
Whats killing the theatre experience is way too many advertisements and trailers before the damn movie start! I had ppl literally cussing the projection ppl out lol! Atleast 3-4 tops and then roll the flick lll
It’s not about the HBO brand name. If it’s a HBO shows it will air on cable as well as streaming. Like Games of Thrones and House of the Dragon does. That’s the reason.

1:11:33 Dexter's question is fine, but it doesn't take into account some major differences between Marvel and Lucas Fim theatrically. Marvel was trying to crank 3+ movies and 4 series out per year during the Chapek era, resulting in a drop in overall quality from overextending themselves. Lucas Film was not getting projects off the ground, and some of the ones they did before were divisive (e.g., Eps 8 & 9) and revealed a lack of a framework for where the Trilogy would go.
Going in without a plan (Sequel Trilogy), being on a different page from their directors (Solo), and being blind to what audiences would respond to at the time (Solo, Indy) were the issues theatrically. Their series suffered from poor execution of possibly decent premises during that same era, and the absence of story experts that should have come in and taken a few passes on dialog and character decision choices before scenes are OKed. The new focus on quality may (or at least should) cover that part where weak storytelling isn't allowed out the gate.
I think Thor thought he was the most powerful. But they did build or claim Wanda or Capital Marvel as the most powerful
The budget was only 67 million so it does not even have to make that much. Captain America 4's budget is meant to be 375m!!!! So many big films esp MCU film have giant budgets yet many don't even look that good. Look at District 9, The Creator and Planet of the Apes films, all look better than most MCU films yet with way smaller budgets?????????
I have a couple of issues regarding the ending of the House of the Dragon season 2 first episode; why didn’t the servant who spotted the killers raise the alarm and why wasn’t there anyone on guard at the Queen’s bedroom?
Yes you say we should watch a tv show in 24, but at least say "spoilers ahead", just so we can skip that part.

@@billymoore7182 It's going to vary with what we consider hits. FNaF2 better not be released simultaneously on streaming like the first was, or else it won't be a box office hit.
Scream 7 and Scary Movie 6 won't make big box office compared to a lot of others, but they might make franchise highs. I can't say Ye or Nay on IKWYDLS, but I hope it's good. I guess ultimately we're going for critical hits with this list, understanding only 2 or 3 are going to be box office toppers.

Scream 7 and Five Nights at Freddy's 2 will definitely be the top horror hits while Superman or the new Jurassic World will be the top action hits. We'll see.
I read the pet semetery book, saw the 80s movie, & then watched the remake.
& I prefer the remake to the book & original movie
Talking with a work buddy about The Boys, and he said he didn't really like the show, as the violence was a too extreme for him. I said I saw his way of thinking, but I pointed out that the violence was cartoonish and ridiculously slapstick. And parts of this episode proved my point. The farm scenes were (deliberately) hilariously daft, life a blood soaked WB cartoon.
The biggest takeaway from ep 5 of the boys for me was ryan, realizing that he can use fear to get what he wants. Run ryan!!!!!! Run away from homelander lol

I’m unsure how Joker 2 will perform at the box office because I think there are going to be a lot of people who saw the first film and liked it but have never rewatched it because of how dark and depressing it was and therefore aren’t interested in seeing a sequel.

Im actually very tired of the folks that read ASOIAF books. They're always comparing them to the show as if they dont understand what an adaptation is. Blood and cheese in the show (as someone who didnt read the book) was absolutely gut wrenching to watch. Like the way I now want Helaena to be spared or come to team black is not something I thought would happen
