Quite Simply, we’ve all enjoyed Paul’s Trekkit vids for years and for me Paul is Trekkit. He’s one of us. I love it when he momentarily struggles for words and his non flustered, no nonsense but always interesting descriptions and tips have proven invaluable over many years. Paul’s the guy you’d want to climb Mt Binnion/Mt Errigle with, at the crack of dawn and then enjoy a long pub lunch with. Great to see you back Buddy.
Paul will always be a part of Trekitt. He might not be around quite as much as he once was, but we have convinced him to dust off his presenting hat for a few more videos here and there, so stay tuned for a little more Paul back on your screens. We'll suggest a trip across the Irish Sea to him, but we fear a crack of dawn start might put him off, he is supposed to be retired after all 🤭
We convinced him to come back out of retirement for a few videos. If we keep showing him these nice comments we might get a few more out of him too! Any topics you'd like to see him tackle next?
Not a completely cut and dry answer we're afraid. The general consensus is that the industry is moving away from the use of PFAS, but there are still some being used across the industry that are not deemed to be of environmental concern, this is the approach with Gore-Tex and ePE, some other manufacturers and membranes are PFAS/PFC-free however. We think it'll be another year or two before the industry is closer to that total goal, old stock floating in the market etc.
Have watched and enjoyed the video over the years , in the Hereford area ( first time ) for a wedding this weekend so visited the store , bought myself a jacket…
We're glad you've enjoyed our videos over the years and that you finally got the chance to visit us in Hereford. What jacket did you end up walking away with? 👀 Hope you had a great time at the wedding!
Thanks for this 👍 question would you change what base/mid layer you wear bases on the shell to get the most out of it or doesn't it really matter?? E.g. with the Montane wearing more breathable layers to push the sweat out.
Great question! To get the most performance out of your shell you should be considering the layers you're wearing underneath and also the activities you're doing in the shell. For something higher output, absolutely put on a more breathable mid/base layer, for slower paced activities it's less important as you'll likely be perspiring less, but still worth thinking about.

Great to have you here again Paul.
One thing to address with those mambranes (FOREVER CHEMICALS ?) is are they PFAS free or not.

Lovely background
It's rather nice up there isn't it. Grwyne Fawr Reservoir is a nice spot, lots of great walks around the area too!
I was worried about my guy 🫡
