A black lace Edwardian Lingerie/Tea gown for a wedding is like the perfect mix of Dark Academia meets Goth Core has a baby with Cottagecore and it came out in the form of this dress. Congratulations!!!
I made my wedding dress somehow in 3 days! It was just sheer panic and it turned out like something a goth Elizabeth Bennett would wear. it's great. I'm going to re-sew it so it survives forever and I can wear it at our vow renewal and party next year
Congratulations on your marriage! Eloping and wearing a goth Edwardian tea dress is just legend. Love the dress. Beautiful styling. Great boots. Love that they're sustainable, but it's a shame goods from recycled materials are more expensive than regular shoes. Not exactly the best way to get a customer base as most of us don't spend that much on fabric shoes. Real leather shoes, yes, fabric shoes, no.
Iron Cleaning hint. Use a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. No product residue. I use it to clean my glass topped stove as well as my iron. I also love the Folkwear patterns.
That's those white spunshes that erase stuff right you mean? Have different name in Swedish so trying to make sure Im guessing correctly here. Those are also great to get away coffe or tea misscolor in cops
Congratulations on you and Toby tying that knot!! The dress came out beautifully and I LOVED the scenery for the tea party you had with your friends 🥰 The lacey table cloth was so cute!!
It turned out beautifully! Congratulations on the nuptials. I love that you're doing a But Make it Gothic series. Gothic versions of anything make my black heart swoon. 💜
omg ive had this pattern bookmarked for a year with a plan of making a goth/“mourning” version for myself too! will def come back to this vid when i eventually make it 🖤
You could do an 18th Century gown with the paniers and everything in purple and black. Simplicity has all of the requisite patterns for the gown and undergarments. (They have Abby Cox on the front.)😋
I actually used that pattern for my pumpkin gown a few years back but I have been thinking about a black robe a la francais with red details or just black on black.
It turned out wonderfully!!! Congrats and Best Wishes!!! I figured the first drop was an oops when it vanished. I just get to watch again and wish y’all well again. I love that you’re going to wear your dress more than once.
Thank you so much Autumn! The first video didn't upload the last 10 minutes of the video and since I was away from my computer I couldn't fix it at the time but this time it worked so all is much better now!
My grandmother got married around 1930 and she was required to wear a black wedding dress because her mother died within the year (their mourning took one year in France).
You know, I have never thought about what they have to do if they were in mourning but also getting married. So thank you for sharing this with me. Mourning attire is so fascinating to me.
Absolutely love the dress! Although I couldn’t see it in progress, it was beautiful at the tea! I’m a bit jealous of your studio! Where did you get your work table? I’m on board for the “but make it goth” series! I’ve subscribed so let’s make it happen! Congratulations on your nuptials!
Thank you so much! My table is from Arrow Sewing, I have a link to it in the description of the video with a coupon code, it's honestly been a huge gamer changer in how I use my space.
I did make them, I used a free pattern online but I honestly can't remember where they were from. I do know they were cycling pants that I didn't add the calf cuff to
Congratulations! I love everything about this, and the Make it Gothic idea. I don't suppose you remember where you got the black top you are wearing in the outro? I want something just like it!
@@CaseyReneeCosplay I see. I don't see that you did a video on that dress, so I'll just have to guess. Are the sleeves like a modified Bishop sleeve that is fitted at the top and with a deep cuff?
@@dedicated2music I don't really make videos on clothes I make, it's not really in high demand plus it's nice having things to sew without having to stress about setting up the camera.
thank you! It's not vintage or anything but it's really nice quality! nicolettacarlone.com/collections/accessories-1/products/bella-victorian-style-clasped-hands-belt

I love the idea of 'but make it gothic' as a series! And congrats on your wedding & gown, you look fabulous in it ♥
Thank you! I'm really excited to make more "but make it Gothic" videos.

Oh my gosh that's incredible! As soon as it stays in the low 60s on Georgia I'll be wearing mine for sewing days!

beautiful! Congrats on your marriage! You did a great job walking us through the pattern.
awww thank you!
Chalk is the traditional way to mark fabric. I love the chalk pens I found. They put a powdered chalk with a weird running wheel at the opening.
I've used chalk before and it's stained both black and white garments I've made so I tend to stay away from chalk since I've had that happen.

I love that pattern company. I have a corset pattern of theirs. Is that dress in a plus size? Hope your wedding day was amazing.
I'm not sure if it comes in plus sizes, but they normally post the sizes they come in on the website.
Best wishes! Your dress is lovely.
