two broad options to fix this: 1) The EASIEST and least disruptive thing to do WITHOUT screwing the Mountain West Conference would be to propose a merger by incorporating the 8 remaining teams of the Mountain West ... you can even give them a tip of the cap by renaming the Conference the "Pacific West" Conference or the "Pac West 14" for short. OR 2) Try to rebuild the Pac-12 by convincing the following teams to join/re-join the "new" Pac 12 (added to the group of 6 that now will have legacy members Washington State and Oregon State, plus new members Boise State, San Diego State, Fresno State, and Colorado State): a) Stanford (it has NO business in the ACC -- it's just ridiculous traveling coast-to-coast for all match-ups); b) U Cal Berkeley (natural rival of Stanford) c) Arizona State d) U Arizona e) try to get U Cal San Diego into the fold IF they play in the FBS (could be a nice San Diego cross-town rivalry for San Diego State the way USC vs UCLA used to be for Los Angeles) f) try to get Utah back g) try to get Colorado back as a natural rival for Col;orado State h) if Utah returns, try to get BYU as a natural rival for UU The second approach OUGHT to be able to ontain AT LEAST TWO of those schools (thereby getting the newly reshaped conference back up to the mandatory minmimum of 8 teams) ... and they could potentially rebuild the conference into 14 member schools if they convince all of my proposed schools to join/rejoin the fold. In the latter circumstance, 14 teams would more than allow for two divisions and a "Conference Championship" 13th game.
BYU and the Pac conference want nothing to do with each other. Too many disagreements. Utah can still keep their rivalry with BYU without them being in the same conference.

They shoukd keep it regional, i hate this new world where Michigan and USC play in the same conferrence. If i were adding teams I would add the teams they added and incude Hawaii, UNLV, Air Force then try really hard to lure one or two former pac 12 schools from California or Arizona, Cal, Stanford, ASU or Arizona.
Why not grab North Dakota State and South Dakota State? Seem like they are both ready to make the jump to FBS. Not going to make the 6-Pac a power conference, but it doesn't seem as big of a legal hurdle. It can bide time to wait for ACC collapse and/or grab other schools. Who knows, maybe former Pac-12 schools come back sooner than we think. Only 8 teams are needed to be considered a conference.
Why anyone would want to join the PAC 12 is beyond me. I'm amazed that the Mountain West hasn't capitalized on this opportunity to bring in Oregon State and Washington State. PAC12 proved how incompetent they are to run a successful conference. The only value they provide is the name, but it's not a great reputation as of now.
You just touched on a valid point. The MWC has had multiple expansion opportunities over the last decade and not one (including OSU and WSU) has panned out. The MWC bowl tie ins have only gotten worse and they have watched their status among G5 conferences slip. Even if the PAC only succeeds in becoming a best of the rest conference, it's still an improvement over the MWC.
Had the PAC 12 added BYU and Boise State And two others from the mountain west back when they added Utah and Colorado they would still be a viable conference, but they were just too cool for that and now they got squat
Not necessarily. Pac-12 crumbled due to poor management and the lack of a viable TV deal. There is no guarantee those programs wouldn't have jumped ship, too
Tell us you don't know why the PAC is GONE without telling us. It did EVERYTHING WRONG. It could have had Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas and more years ago. Whatever this new collection of schools is called... it is NOT the PAC.

I'm a long time fan of WSU and OSU. I'm not sure how I feel about this move. I need more time. Some of these teams are pretty weak. I like Boise State though.
Well, the PAC just lost almost all it's members. The state of order is building the PAC back up. The PAC isn't going to be able to invite an Alabama or Ohio State to come. Focus on the new schools and new conference and building those programs up. It takes time. WSU and OSU were bottom of the PAC at one point.....now it is their turn to lead the conference and help build. Some of these teams have great potential to grow now given better opportunities to recruit, build up a little more cash, and get a little more exposure. With how the PAC fell apart, forget about short term fixes. It has to be a long term build now and done right.

Can California and Stanfird join again? Or does the ACC contract make that a huge issue? California and Stanford did join after the TV deal was in effect. Wonder if the ACC would just do the logical thing and let them back in the PAC-12. The ACC don't really need them.
The Rose Bowl is not part of any agreement anymore they are fully in the CFB Playoff system now.
I couldn't believe they even asked that. Really shows how none of these people know a thing about it
Kennesaw State in PAC-12 when?
They just joined the Conference USA
never
Shocked dude didn’t mention Notre Dame!
What about teams from the big sky conference? Can that work?
I could see what's left of the mountain west trying to poach some of the big sky teams like idaho, Montana, and Montana state but I don't think the pac12 would consider those schools
Arizona n arizona st would be ideal.
It was going to happen, A was going to take B, or B take A. Until I hear more I'm not sure there's much difference, other than perhaps the records, the name, the Broadcast equipment. Perhaps there's a war chest that OreSt/Waszu can use, but still the media value isn't enhanced.
UNLV and UTSA last two teams let's go!
UNLV to the big 12
two broad options to fix this:
1) The EASIEST and least disruptive thing to do WITHOUT screwing the Mountain West Conference would be to propose a merger by incorporating the 8 remaining teams of the Mountain West ... you can even give them a tip of the cap by renaming the Conference the "Pacific West" Conference or the "Pac West 14" for short. OR
2) Try to rebuild the Pac-12 by convincing the following teams to join/re-join the "new" Pac 12 (added to the group of 6 that now will have legacy members Washington State and Oregon State, plus new members Boise State, San Diego State, Fresno State, and Colorado State):
a) Stanford (it has NO business in the ACC -- it's just ridiculous traveling coast-to-coast for all match-ups);
b) U Cal Berkeley (natural rival of Stanford)
c) Arizona State
d) U Arizona
e) try to get U Cal San Diego into the fold IF they play in the FBS (could be a nice San Diego cross-town rivalry for San Diego State the way USC vs UCLA used to be for Los Angeles)
f) try to get Utah back
g) try to get Colorado back as a natural rival for Col;orado State
h) if Utah returns, try to get BYU as a natural rival for UU
The second approach OUGHT to be able to ontain AT LEAST TWO of those schools (thereby getting the newly reshaped conference back up to the mandatory minmimum of 8 teams) ... and they could potentially rebuild the conference into 14 member schools if they convince all of my proposed schools to join/rejoin the fold. In the latter circumstance, 14 teams would more than allow for two divisions and a "Conference Championship" 13th game.
BYU and the Pac conference want nothing to do with each other. Too many disagreements. Utah can still keep their rivalry with BYU without them being in the same conference.
They should call it the Pac-State conference
Where there's a lawyer, there's a way. If Stanford, Cal want to come home, they will conjure a path.
Lmao, tell FSU, UNC and Clemson that, and now the ACC owns Stanford and Cals tv rights for 7 and 9yrs.
Cal and Stanford. Get your butts back to the west coast and the PAC where you belong and have always belonged. Go Cougs!
@@joeguerra8435 lmao they took half money to leave the Pac and they will still make more money than this generic Pac. The Pac only got offered $15-$18 mil a yr with the old teams now they will get $10 mil a yr with the new ones.
@@TimmyPruitt166 for the moment the PAC 6 has little to offer in terms of a lucrative tv deal to bribe back those PAC 12 members that went to the B1G, ACC, or Big 12.
For the moment.
But as soon as the PAC 8+ reestablishes itself, get its’ sea-legs back, and is able to negotiate a much more lucrative and favorable tv deal, since money drives everything, that’s when the PAC 8+ can offer something to prospective, desirable, current Power 5 members, specifically the former PAC 12 members that flew the nest, reason and a paycheck to come back to their true glorious home to the west coast and the PAC, whatever PAC variant it may be at the time.
7:50 Tell me you haven't been paying attention to college football without telling us you haven't been paying attention to college football. The Rose Bowl is now part of the College Football Playoff quarterfinal/semifinal rotation, so conference tie-ins to the Rose Bowl are moot. Dear God, folks, do your damn research before asking such an idiotic question... or at least bring in Dennis Dodd instead.
If done right the new PAC will incorporate the 2 most football crazy regions in the country: the South and the Mountain west.
Memphis and Tulane
UTSA and Rice
Utah State and Wyoming
South Florida and Southern Miss
UConn and Georgia State

I think could add 9 team
They shoukd keep it regional, i hate this new world where Michigan and USC play in the same conferrence. If i were adding teams I would add the teams they added and incude Hawaii, UNLV, Air Force then try really hard to lure one or two former pac 12 schools from California or Arizona, Cal, Stanford, ASU or Arizona.
All the Best !
They should add UNLV, Sac State, and San Jose State
Why anyone would want to join the PAC 12 is beyond me. I'm amazed that the Mountain West hasn't capitalized on this opportunity to bring in Oregon State and Washington State. PAC12 proved how incompetent they are to run a successful conference. The only value they provide is the name, but it's not a great reputation as of now.
The old Pac wasn't that good the last 5 yrs in both sports! well last yr they was alright!
46290 Torrance Centers
STATE SCHOOL ONLY CONFERENCE
Add: Texas St. New Mexico St. Utah St.
Long shot: Arizona St. Oklahoma St. Kansas St.
ASU, OSU and KSU is no shot!
Utah state, Wyoming, Nevada, UNLV, New Mexico, Hawaii should all go to the PAC 12
Hell no!!!
@@BamaScorpio69
Hell yes!!!
@@ExaltedSeahawksFan Well you're not getting your wish so it's all a moot point.....😂😂😂
@@BamaScorpio69
And you’re not getting your wish either so that’s also a moot point!
@@ExaltedSeahawksFan It doesn't matter to me. I'm not a fan of Texas St. silly rabbit.
Intriguing
Add Idaho, North Dakota and South Dakota.
As an Oregon fan. I didn't like how things went down. I'd like to see a dope Pac12. And about time Boise gets a sorta promotion.
Air Force and UNLV make alot of sense. Utah State as well.
I would love to see Utah State join
New name:
* 6 PAC(K) 12 *
6 PAC 🤣
I'm a long time fan of WSU and OSU. I'm not sure how I feel about this move. I need more time. Some of these teams are pretty weak. I like Boise State though.
What choice does OSU/WSU have right now?
Don’t be so picky. Thats how the Pac ended up collapsing in the first place.
Champagne dreams, beer budget…and you’re holding an empty glass. Cheers.
This is a good day for the PAC2. I’m ready for a San Diego roadtrip. The PAC was never ever coming back to life without SDSU. Can we say warm fuzzy feeling now with The San Diego State Aztecs in the storied PAC family? And, nobody in their right mind ever wants to play Boise State, especially if the game is on their signature Smurf blue field. Go Cougs!
For sure they will not want Hawaii 😂 the travel is brutal.
@@htvlogs80 u are going to have to travel to survive!
I was hoping Hawaii and UNLV would join the PAC 12
Just merge the Mtn west and Pac 12..
sounds like the Pac is waiting for the ACC to explode to get their leftovers.
@@TimmyPruitt166 Waiting for something that will not happen. ACC would not have EXPANDED if just 8 ACC schools had ANYWHERE BETTER to go.
SEC and B1G will not take 8 ACC teams... BIg 12 is a $20 Million per year PAYCUT for any ACC team PLUS they would have to pay the Exit Fee AND get out of the GOR.
It is MORE LIKELY that FSU and every ACC team STAYS in the ACC than it is the ACC loses ANYBODY to the Big 12 or PAC 12.
And I don't believe FSU will STAY in the ACC for a minute, BUT THAT IS MORE LIKELY than imploding or exploding or dissolving.
I would think Memphis and Tulane. Then UNLV... And if ACC crumbles, then Cal and Stanford and SMU too = 12.
UNLV to the big 12
UNLV should go to the Big 12 and forget unr leave them behind 😂
it's a lateral move for all those schools 😅
Nah
Why not try to get Stanford and California back to the Pac?
Hawaii, Army, Navy - Football only - 9 total teams for Football
Grand Canyon, Gonzaga - All Sports (but neither had Football of course)
Army and Navy can play all of their OOC games on the EAST COAST where there are plenty of options and go back to the PATRIOT or some other Conference
Army and Navy bring "FANS" from Military Bases across the Country and help to FILL Stadiums.
ARMY/NAVY game is a huge game.
Hawaii can STAY in the Big West for everything else outside of Football.
You have to have 8 ALL SPORTS teams to BE an NCAA D1 Conference... so you need somebody like Gonzaga and Grand Canyon if not them.
My idea SUCKS... but it is better than any other POSSIBLE SCENARIO. This is a DUMB MOVE for the PAC2.
Going to be a weak weak football conference Pac12 in name only. Maybe add gonzaga for basketball that could help.
Compared to who?
San Diego State coming to the PAC! That creates a real warm fuzzy feeling for us in the PAC 2. A new much needed lifeline. If the PAC stood a chance to rebuild its’ former glory days self, it had to have SDSU.
And, in all honesty, nobody really wants to play Boise State in football. The Broncos and their signature blue field … they are tough. You always have to earn your win against Boise State. Just ask Oklahoma or Oregon.
Nothing has changed with the Pac12, still the delusional conf!
Best of Luck 🤞!
They should aim for Nebraska. With the Big10’s addition, Nebraska will never see a playoff game. The goal should be to purge teams from the power four that can no longer compete.
@@raycreigh if they join this conf they won't be able to complete even worse! They could never get top players cause couldn't afford the NIL money. They get $80-100 mil in the big10 a yr going to $15 mil in the Pac12, never going happen!
