I don’t have not one negative thing to say about these 2 young people. They have done a great job for just figuring stuff out as they go. I’m so excited to be a part of their journey in Alaska as the develop their new homestead. Plus I might add they have a baby under 1 so they are killin it as far as I’m concerned. May not be doing everything just right but they have the get up and go to get it done. Great job to the both of you and thank you for bringing me along on your journey. I’m 65 and wish I could have had the notion to just get up and move like they did.❤❤❤
The shavings from your plainer will wk perfect for your future chicken house. You did a great job. You should both be so proud of what you have accomplished since coming to Alaska.
Your such an inspiration. You two young people work so hard. I remember when you lived in mud when you first moved to your property. Its starting to look so nice. Your baby is precious. Prayers to your beautiful family.
I love the colour Lori. Can understand why Cody likes the look of timber. He works with this beautiful material, growing on his land, harvesting and milling it. The feel and look of the finished product is like glorifying the tree. For it to be painted over is an affront to the finished product. You don’t have the time to treat it. Sorry to hear those solar panels are out of production. Hope it works out. 🇦🇺 fan.
You two are amazing and I am sure you are making your parents burst with pride. You have grown and proven with each and every episode that you have the true pioneer spirit. Your baby is adorable too. 😊
Nice job as always, I know Cody you have to love having a dry snow free place to mill and cut wood. Plus Lori is going to love the sawdust in her green house next year. Glad you can get another panel, that should help. Still amazed at what a year makes. I know it's still not a easy life but it's so much easier then last winter and a beautiful baby girl
You all are " Really cooking with steam heat". As my mother used to say☺. The amount of progress that you all have accomplished on your Homestead 🏡 in such a small amount of time is TRULY AMAZING !!!! Love it Love it 😍 Take Care & Thanks for Sharing 🙏💞🙏💞🙏💞 &🙏💞 for 🐺 Roo
5:19 Gloves and a tablesaw .. always exciting footage! Ohh .. he's going for bonus points .. no push-stick! Will all the fingers stay intact this time? Drumroll.....
Hello lori &cody lovely job as always you know exactly what your doing and are hard workers lorri you did a great on the painting take care hug to rowan ❤❤❤👍👋
Another great job Cody, seems you can build anything you set your mind to, ..anxious to see what you build this winter ..your stain will last a long time don’t let the temp concern you..looking good guys ! ❤️
I've watched since the very first upload. You are an absolute delight to watch. I know it couldn't have been easy but you are doing amazing. I am so proud of all your accomplishments, patience and hard work. Thank you for sharing a bit of your life with us. God Bless you and your family. From sunny South Africa
WOW! That was a big job done well! I would like to echo what others have said about using another piece of wood to push boards thru the saw. My dad taught me this as a young girl. Don’t want you to lose any precious fingers .
Wear gloves when painting lori it will keep your hands nice and clean from paint, youre both doing amazing with this build for the solar panels it will be so much better xx
Cody, I am sure you have thought about this but have you considered lefting the sawmill up so you don't have to bend as much. You two are doing a great job!
We have a 2 part video of building it last winter. If I were to do it again I would make the top out of 3” boards instead of the 3/4” for a nice solid top.
love all your videos. long time fan since video #1. but bro....please use a piece of wood to support and push the wood through the table saw. your fingers were like 1 inch away from the blade. you hit a knot and get kickback your fingers will be gone. lol
Haven’t actually used it since it got put in. We have been using far more water than normal though and will need to fill our tank in the next week or so. We made this tank last us the entire winter last year and it seems to last us about a month now using as much as we want.
Enforce that greenhouse a bit, keep a couple of inches of snow all over it, you can make a nice winter work shop in it and keep it a bit warm at the same time.
A quick question…..is your mill a shorter one or is it just the camera angle? I know nothing but what Ive seen in videos about these mills. They really seem to be a real blessing and a good investment for a lot of people.
Your power equipment needs to be at the end of the table. It is extremely awkward feeding wood the way you are set up from my point of view. Love your channel.
I’m sure you can retrofit it for safety sake but right now you have lots more important things to do with winter coming. I am amazed at what you two have accomplished in your short time in Alaska. Hope you are able to get your own piece of equipment soon. It will make life on your homestead much easier. I look forward to each video you post. I am a retired carpenter and am impressed with what you get done with what tools you have.

good message bro!
So true! To bad more young people weren't as motivated and driven as these two.
It is better to build up than teardown.
Not many young people would or could work like these two.

These guys have done amazing job in a little over 1 years with what they have had to work with . Always some negative comments .

Nice job Cody & Laurie, one of my most favorite videos. Can’t wait to see your panels mounted on the roof. Get in your house and get warm! ❤

Your channel is slowly but steadily growing!😊 Today you are at 20,800!

Love your videos. So much fun to watch how you take what is on the land and make it work!! That pretty baby is growing so fast.

Solar panels are looking good. Another great job. You have come so far. Good for you. I really enjoy your channel. Keep the videos coming✌️🇺🇸
Great video content guys the homestead is looking good…. Keep up the great work…..❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thanks for taking the time to do these videos hi again from Colorado Springs 😀

Looks great! 🎉
looking good! I once pained in the cold and the stain/paint stayed on for years
Great job you two.
Great job.😊
Looks like you are going to have a wealth of sawdust mulch to use in your garden by spring.
enjoy your videos. Pls use a push stick when you are ripping wood on the table saw. Your fingers are precious. don't want to see you injured.
Nice job, I think it looks great.
Cody, I am sure you have thought about this but have you considered lefting the sawmill up so you don't have to bend as much. You two are doing a great job!
It would be nice, but would also make it a lot more difficult for me to get large logs on the bed.
Thankyou 😊
Love your workshop!!!
Amazing woodworking.
Awesome content
NICE TABLE you have made around your table saw! Oops nice whole set up !My husband is jealous…lol…he doesn’t have the room to do that.
We have a 2 part video of building it last winter. If I were to do it again I would make the top out of 3” boards instead of the 3/4” for a nice solid top.
I know someone that forgot too use his push stick and had too have his finger top reattached! He said he wouldn't do that again! Hard way too learn!

Looks good
Greenhouse will dry wood out good
For longer boards you can mill thinner strips and laminate them together with staggered joints.
How much easier has it been having the well?
Haven’t actually used it since it got put in.

Great job. Get some plastic and cut down your shop and get one of those little tent wood stoves and get you some heat out there. Just a idea.
So I just wanted to ask you Cody is that a Case loader on tracks beside the shed?
You were the first to notice it. Yes, we got it just days before the snow came.

It can cut 11.5’ and you can add 4’ extensions for it. We try to design everything around 10’ lengths and typically cut logs at 10.5’
What are the specs on your panels? Curious as to the potential wattage they can generate.
They are 400w each, but the new version is 420w.
Please don’t push the wood by the saw with your fingers!
Please make yourself a pusher for your timber to go through the blade….. 😢
It's only a matter of time before serious injury if you ignore safety. The voice of experience 😢
With short sleeves you risk getting pneumonia, you have to be careful😜
❤❤
Hey! Just wondering about your dog? I haven’t seen him on a few of your episodes
Irie is just out here living her best life. She gets free roam of our 40 acres all day so it’s up to her is she hangs close or not.
He is there in the video when they were cutting the cow
You should be wearing safety glasses
Your power equipment needs to be at the end of the table. It is extremely awkward feeding wood the way you are set up from my point of view. Love your channel.
If I were to build it again I would have the table saw right at the end for sure.

We purchased some equipment and got it up the trail days before the snow came. It needs a little love, but we are very excited to use it come summer.
Grab a scrap of wood and make a push stick for your table saw before you lose a finger please.
🇳🇴👍👍🥇
That saw it’s to Low
The saw is normally set to the height of your log and cut..
Maybe it is comfortable for him.
