Get ready for part 2! Right away... which GT500 do you prefer?
Speed Phenom something about the 13-14gt500’s and u got the supersnake just makes me go nuts
2013-2014 GT500 is the best. The classic snake looks better than the new one.
2020
S197
2020
Honestly like the old snake overall
Agree
Same here!
I like the the new 2020 GT500 but I think the old cobra emblem looked better.
The old Cobra just looks amazing, such a classic aggressive look that I cannot trade for any other.
I honestly love them both.
I prefer the old snake badge, much more dope
I am so tempted to get a 2013 GT 500. There is one near me for $43k with 7k miles in my favorite color, black. Talk me out of it!
5.0 Beers do it
Take it
Do it you will not regret.
You'll have more of a chance to afford a older one than a newer one
May I have the address for this car ? Man they rock !
The best thing about the old one is that you can actually get one🙄
Sesto Sili 😂😂
If you have about $95K
@@xPAINKILLER And it will still take about a year to get to you.
@@markjones5757 At least you're not residing in Turkey. It's a huge pain to own these cool cars because of taxes i.e. yearly tax which is about 15 grand + 7k because of loud exhaust not only that gas prices which starts at min. 7 bucks for a quarter gallon! Can you believe these bullshits?
@@xPAINKILLER Wow,thats crazy!
First I want to say how much better in my opinion your videos have become. You sound much more professional and yet a very down to earth person. I usually don’t comment very often but I felt like giving you a well deserved “Thumbs Up”. Plus its obvious I am not the only one that feels this way by the amount of subscribers you have gained with many more to come in your future. I really appreciate how your picking out out something’s between these 2 fantastic Mustangs and voicing your opinion. I have quite a bit older having owned my share of Mustangs my first being a 2 year old 1965 - 66 Mustang with its 289 cubic inch 271 HP HO 4 speed. Would you give your opinion as a track racer in your opinion the handling difference between the solid rear axle verses the new independent rear axle assembly of the GT500 on the track? I started using Corvettes within the last 4 years but previously I had used Mustangs and I obsoletely loved them and now my ZR1 Corvette. But it’s not about brand to myself having worked for both the Ford Motor Company and Chevy’s Corvette Division. Just put me in any car on a road course and I am happy. Thank You and continue with your very informative videos, Cheers P.S. I look forward to your next comparison video.
Thank you so much for the very kind words. I am really happy that you like the content! Also, thank you for being so supportive as well.. I think it's awesome that you have a ZR1! I'm a major fan! Regarding the two GT500s on track, they feel SO different. The new GT500 is the better track car by far. It feels smoother, more advanced, more confidence inspiring, and easier to drive fast with the DCT. The S197 GT500 is still a lot of fun, but it's not as in tune. It's more raw!
Very nice comment and yes your so right about everything you said plus his channel is getting so much better. Thanks
He gave us a Ratti's ride breakdown
Both are very awesome! My favorite is the 2014 GT500, because the raw untamed power. Definitely a driver's car!
Would be nice to see the 2014 super snake wide body compared to the new gt500
I would take that Super Snake over the 2020 GT500 anyday.
Me 2 but maybe not on a track day
Super Snake engine/exhaust, 2020 Eaton Blower, 2020 car.
2014 Shelby GT500: Meaner, more aggressive
2020 Shelby GT500: Sleeker, and more refined
Personally, I’d choose the 2020 GT500 just because it has a more modern and sophisticated aesthetic about it, while still managing to one up its predecessor in certain ways with its aggressiveness (i.e. grills, headlights, front splitter, spoiler etc). However, the 13/14 GT’s just SCREAM American muscle car. 💯
14 super snake all day 🔥 hope u never sell it unless I'm the one to buy it 💯 awesome video
14 FTW
13/14 lives in my heart more but still love the 2020
I like the 2014 super snake when I was in high school 1970 I had a 1969 Shelby GT 350 maybe that’s why I like the 2014
More money with cheaper materials on theses new cars I'd rather have 3 mustangs to the price of these I'd have 65 gt350 67 gt500 and 70 twister mustang.
That's awesome
The '14 is more Mustang/manly looking.
Those back lights are so trash tho
The 5.8 made alot more torque than the 5.0 or the 5.2. I can't wait to see the top speed of the super snake. Keep up the awesome videos.
I'm going S197 all day! May not be the better all-around car, but the older GT500s are just raw, unrefined and wicked! Thanks for more killer content!
So i own a stupid rad 2016 gt350R. It got hauled to my shop on a flatbed. The owner was delinquent on the note, with a heavy estimate the thing was $700 away from writing off. We worked out a deal, i bought the car for $4700. I replaced absolutely everything that was remotely damaged. Got it on my frame table, got the thing dead square and i mean DIALED. I counted threads on the tie rods and it drove straight as an arrow before alignment. Carbon body panels, drift spec RTR front suspension with fortune coilovers, billet subframe bushings, EAS delete, full titanium exhaust with a Lamborghini muffler because thats kinda my thing. All i did was delete any and all emissions equipment, upgrade the fuel system for e90, stand alone link ecu, hydro handbrake, you know the deal. The thing made 600 wheel. It weighs 3060 with me in it. And changing the suspension geometry, i gotta say, made it a thousand times more fun. I have all the stock shit. It was a rear impact. Dude that car fux so hard. Nothing in the world sounds like it, ive driven full blown pro spec drift cars that felt sluggish in comparison. Theres just ridiculous amounts of mechanical grip and the way it revs...dude its honestly the perfect car
I Iike the 2020 GT500 but i still like the GT350 better 🤷♂️ I’m sorry
Why?
Denver Dias. Because the GT350 has a manual trans and in my opinion is more fun to drive. Also I love the look of the GT350 better than the GT500 Just the way I feel, no hate just my opinion. The GT500 is still a great car but I would rather buy a Lamborghini Gallardo for the same price
Three pedals !!!
@@madams4992 I 100% agree with you on that
Cant be sorry for liking a v8 that revs over 8k 😁😁😁😁 that's a bad ass experience.
Love the 2014!!!! Would definitely prefer it over the 2020.
I love the super snake stripe. I want to add it to my 2019 gt. I think it looks better than the dual stripes.
I love both cars, but I prefer the '20 front end, hood, front fenders, air intake, etc.; but I like the less tapered rear end of the Supersnake that makes it look more aggressive and substantial (to me anyway). I love the looks of both motors, but that crazy carbon fiber everywhere in the Supersnake looks amazing! I also love the aero all of the way around the '20. It makes the car look like a supercar in my opinion. All of the modern upgrades in the new car is really nice - reminds me of a fighter jet cockpit, but I really like the gauges on the driver's side A pillar in the Supersnake.
I still plan on getting a 2014 GT500. Cant hate 640hp for around 40k
662 hp sir
@@ther.6107 They lose hp throughout the years like any other car. I hope mine has 640hp by the time I get it lmao
Mine still has all the original hp. I just put her on the dyno a littel under a year ago. She is still completely stock.
@@JayRSwan Miles? Stay on top of oil and oil changes?
@@camobubba98 21k miles and of course.
I’m surprised there’s no cars on that street.
Ik rt!😅😅😅..good point
Kid who hasn't hit puberty without any bass in his voice knows more about these cars then I do. What a lucky kid to get to do this. Im not hating, just makes me feel like my life ain't shit lol.
The s550 is the better car overall but the super snake is soooooo classic!!!
The 2014 Shelby GT500 Super Snake produced 850 horsepower, the standard Shelby GT500 was rated at 662 horsepower. The 2014 Super Snake was said to be capable of running 10.6s or quicker at a drag strip stock. I prefer the 2014 because it is a manual and has less computerized components. I think Dual Clutch Transmissions are for more exotic vehicles than potential everyday pony cars.
Supersnake never lived up to the hype of all its power. 6 speed with all that weight made it practically useless for anything short of power sliding. I'll take the newer gt500 with full bolt ons and whoop it 😎😎😎
What are you trying to sell me on the Supersnake I love sliding 😎
Woo hoo where’s that test pilot needed application? Stock 2014 GT500 will accelerate to 191 mph and builds slowly to 200+
Excellent vid. Can’t wait for #2. Keep us posted on your quest for a MSRP track pack. I can’t believe a dealership wouldn’t throw you one just for the publicity score.
2014 definitely more muscular-looking & mean
Old snake looks way better. 2014 GT500 looks much meaner. I’d take the 2014 over 2020... why? It has 6 speed manual. The new 2020 shifter takes away the fun but I understand with 750+ hp you need both hands on the wheel. Cold start, the 2014 sounds better too.
This man’s reviews are super genuine and honest.
Definitely worth staying to the end, thanks!
Always bringing the content Speed!! Great vid !!
I like the older snake emblem
"Dodge still says their demon is the most powerful v8 production car"
*Shelby:you serious?
Race them don’t talk about them 🤦🏻♂️
He has the 2020 wins
@@JayRSwan THAT WAS NO FUCCN RACE....... more like dont whoop me give it a little throttle
Excelent video! The part 2 please!!👍🏻
the snake on the 2013 and 2014 kicks butt with regards to the new one.
The grille air restriction isn’t to target air into the center. They are there to limit air entering to increase aerodynamics for fuel efficiency and drag reduction.
I was looking foreard to this one. Great comparison vid!
Love the Shelbys Phenom! Lucky dude you are!!
None. GT350R is better than both:) As for the two, supersnake on paper, 2020 GT500 on the road feels better
the 2013 was the last car shelby worked on, remember that he passed on may 10 2012.
i still prefer the old school with manuel gear
A Great Comparison...! Pretty Cool..👍 I think I like the old version of the Snake Better..!!
They should have made a solid axle option. I guess if you had enough money, you could get whatever you want.
Depreciation of the 13 and 14 GT 500s now that the GT350 and 500 are out. I can get a 662 HP stang for cheap now. U can get a 14 GT cheaper than the 500 and that’s crazy.
Great video although must correct you on the fact that 2013 was the last design Carroll was involved with, 2013/2014 are pretty much the same car mechanically, Carroll died May 10, 2012….unfortunately he never got to see the beautiful monster he created!
Love the videos bro! Keep it up
I now own # 13 of the 50 Signature Edition Super Snakes
How did you cut off the thru-traffic to film this video ?? 🧐🧐
2014 Super Snake is my favourite muscle car. 2014 version looks so Awesome 🔥🔥🔥! I wish Ford and Shelby American would make a Super Snake with the same design and look, only with new specs in the coming years.
Solid rear axle, manual..... Last real GT500. My old coyote was the pinnacle of mustang GT drag/Street car development. Meaning affordable, fast, fun and still a legit muscle car. The GT500s were faster, but not really affordable for the common guy. The new car is amazing, its just apples and oranges.
If you race them, please drive the SuperSnake. You can actually drive manual and I feel you wouldn’t be afraid of it. Let someone else drive the auto
Still a tough choice between both... just imagine how much the Shelby would have change the game if the 13/14 gt500s were automatics.
It would have been a regular transmission. The DCT is new. I think the car may have been handicapped with old-school tech auto.
culcune possibly , but even as a manual it was whooping just about every automatic in its class.
People have put 6R80s in the GT500 and was giving demons a run for their money
I like the older style Cobra emblem better but it looks better in the middle
I'm in love with both. I'd take the 2020 even though I'm not a fan of the dial shift or paddle shifters. They are a millimeter apart though.
Good job and a nice video of two super cool cars. I have the black 2019 Bullitt and I love it, but it is always good with some inspiration on where to go next...😎
2014 looks more like a muscle car, 2020 looks more like a super car.
I love the older SN197 looks, you are right the newest design looks more European , and it’s definitely more curvaceous, it’s got HIPS like a fine woman 🤣🤣🤣 the new GT500 is more superior in every way!! Great video,, when is PT2??
Did Carol Shelby work on the shelby1000
No hate but how can you compare a supersnake to a stock gt500?
If you missed the end....I got no words haha!! Well done Austin.
I like the 2014 old school look. The Retro Super Snakes. The 2011 GT500 has a cool stance with different lines than the 2020 Shelby GT500. Let's see the 2014 GT500 with all the 2020 front wickers and side skirting.
That supersnake is mean as hell. Got to love it.
and the story goes,"back then we only had 662 hp"....oh man,i almost fell off my chair(lol)
Hi, love your videos!!!
Quick question, I've got a line on a new 2020 GT500 and since you've owned one, along with many other high-end vehicles, should i buy the GT500, or something else?
The reason i ask is because of the DCT transmission...
Thanks!!
180 has to be limited right?
Beautiful cars, man!
I did not think I was going to get a new one but......leave it at that. The hood on the new one is so long. Love your opinion on both!
One correction the 2020 gt500 is limited to 180 for many reasons but in reality the 2020 gt500 would probably dude 210 or 215mph . Both cars are great love them both
I would prefer the GT350 white with blue stripes. I really like the technology that comes with newer Mustangs but I prefer a manual.
The 2014 you have right there is my favorite car in the world. O-60 in 3.4 seconds and top speed of 212 with looks to kill. I do like what they have done for the new gt500 but I prefer the retro mustang look. Myself I think I’d have it in the dark blue with black stripes or if I could paint it I would give it the new grabber lime from the 2020.
Like the snake in the center, and the newer body.
fuel pressure?
Super snake all day long no question ask!!!! a couple more years with ownership of my 19 gt350, I will be in search of a super snake!!!!!!!!
I will go with the 14 all the way. Although both of them aren't available here in the Philippines.
I like the look of the old Shelby but the new generation sounds better.
The old one's hood scoop looks like it matches the hood scoop on the demon
They are both such nice cars I wouldn't be able to pick just one.
This is just a amazing video..thank you
2013 Super snake is probably the coolest looking muscle car and I have a sweet spot for camaros
My 2010 is almost a clone of your 2014! Same Hood mine has no stripes now, I have a polished 3.6 KenneBell same throttle body gimme 5” KenneBell air filter, except you have the bigger 5.8l mine 5.4l and your has a better more advance gauge option!
I would definitely like to see the Shelby 1000 edition footage. The 2014 or the 2018 version.
How well do the Shelby GT500 & Super Snakes hold their value?? Considering the new 992 Porsche & LC500 as well..
Very well actually. I believe the 13-14 GT500 first came out for around $60,000. A lot of them you'll find still go for anywhere around $40k to $55k depending on the mileage.
I know many will disagree with me. However, the S197 looks more like a Mustang to me. The S550 looks like what a 2015 Toyota Solara would look like, trying to be aggressive. Yes, I know the S550 is the better car but a car gets its personality from its flaws. To me, they have seem to engineered the "Mustang" out of the Mustang. A Mustang should be a handful to handle. It should try to kill you if disrespect it. That said, I'm bias. I like my stock grabber blue 2012 GT/CS convertible and will never get rid of it.
Once the tuners can get into the TCM and raise the rev limiter the new GT500 should be able to hit 200mph when they swap the rear gear
Leviathan 5.0 ur correct only 3.31 gear hit 200 the 3.73 hit 189
Hey Austin, if you had a choice and a budget for only one of these, would you get a new GT500 or a new Super Snake Widebody from Shelby American (with all the upgrades)?
If I were on a budget, I'd try to find a good deal on a 2020 GT500 as I believe they would be the most affordable. After owning one, I must say I'm very happy with it and I think it's well worth it! Hoping to drive a new Super Snake in the near future so that I can share what it's like!
I have these 2 same cars, and they are both awesome, but for different reasons. Their both fast as snot, but my Super Snake is old school, and raw HP. Where the new GT500 is so much more refined HP. ...Both are a blast, but the SS will bight you in 1 second if you don’t know what your doing, whereas the new GT500 is far more forgiving. Gotta love American Muscle!😉👊🏼👍🏼
The older emblem. Just like the front end and openings. The 13 and 14 Super snakes are the best looking cars of all time.
Great detail comparison... Tech has a way of dividing the lines between both cars none of which you say you wouldn't own either. The earlier model and a stick shift in the right hands is totally fucking killer.. new tech and being fast as hell pita it to the ground and up and down fast but the Trinity and the stick with that killer classic look is superb in the right hands... I hate the Rev limit noise because you can't shift it fast enough... That's key... Both are hands down impressive..!. Me I love Trinity... Either way tho very impressive cars!! You can't lose if you are fortunate to own either!
wheres part 2???
Great video !!!!
I know you have a 2020 GT500 .... if you had a choice between a 2018 GT350 or 2014 GT500 what’s your thoughts. I’m asking because I have an opportunity for either car.
If you want the car that makes you feel special as a driver. The GT350 is the one to get. The noises, the lightness, the engagement, the motor, it's amazing. It's a confidence inspiring car. However, the 2014 GT500 in comparison is a BEAST. It's more of a street machine. You learn to tame it. To simply put, it's raw and fast. Plus, it gives the old school vibe!
Thanks for your feed back I really appreciate it.
2014 gt500 all day everyday!
Spent 23 minutes talking about the car and zero minutes of a POV driving the car
for now 14 Super snakes, but in couple years the 2020 will be ahead, always like tha tfo ra new model, will takes some times before people used to the look .
I’ll have the black one
