Thanks I wanted to see if the netgear switch can really handle such speeds. That switch is only $15 right now am definitely picking one up for my 500Mbs connection!
So in my room I have an Ethernet Port which is connected to the modem on the other side of the house (wires run through the roof) I was wondering if I could connect a switch to the Ethernet port in my room then connect my computer and ps4 to the switch ?
I'm having the same issue on my PS4 pro. I know the PS4 has a limit but there's no way I should only be getting 80mbps out of 1000mbps. I'ma have to buy a switch.
@@peupeuguy310 it has to do with the ethernet cable , make sure it actually supports above 1GB of speed, some cables false advertise and are overpriced, a cheap one i bought from best buy fixed my issue.
It's tha switch btw if u study connection like I do switches are naturally faster on a lan than wan meaning on a local network it is faster and routers are faster on a wan network meaning like going out to the network switches keep all traffic separated and everyone has their own 1 gb port this means it never really gets congested and not only that but the Mac address u use is how the switch identifys who to send or receive the packet to this means u have a 100% data flow/ bullet registration this gives u a huge advantage
A router alone without a switch will cause extreme delays in ur network because the ping times with congestion can go up to about 70 to 90 ms of latency a switch keeps that latency at either 0 or 2 ms being the highest
This means u see everything that's happening in close to live time as u only have 20 ms of delay in most games even if u have 70ms delay from a far server u could still kill the other player if your careful but on a normal router it would be impossible to kill a player on already high ping mixed with the high ping coming from the server
Routers are heavily flawed more than people realize and the ones who are lucky and buy a switch with out knowing what it does come in to some serious power

Thank for this video. you definitely answered what I was looking for in terms of speed!

You should be able
To get 1gig speeds you need a modem that can handle the speeds 3.1 netgear gigabit is a badass modem
Meanwhile with Cox I have 150mbps and lucky to get 40. Going to try a new modem and see.
Yay phoenix!

@Luca Rossi no its not its actually slow in terms of speeds M$ servers allows you to get, i fixed my issue btw im at 500mbps-600mbps on my PS4.
PS4 download speeds are notoriously slow
@@vovical if you read my comment above ive been fixed my issue
RazorRC how did you fix ?

Hey kreeper one of my friends used your vids i referred them to your vhannel
chefmarco305 thank you :)
Can I use asus rt-ac88u with it ?
I would murder someone for internet like that lol
Man i waited 3 years for the speeds to hit my area, they are still polishing it though
