Hi Shawn, you are most welcome, thanks for the comment. Hopefully the next ones will be a bit better quality. We have invested heavily in new camera equipment and also much better editing tools (Adobe Premiere Pro). Keep following us. Due to work commitments our filming schedule is a little sporadic, but I figured people would like one decent video every few months as opposed to a new video everyday that is of questionable quality!
Nice review. I just picked up the GS116Ev2 off eBay for $30. Basically the same thing but bigger. Only difference in the software I could see was it has LAG.
Great video! I didn't expect going into the chassis like that. Also, nice one on mentioning Wireshark for packet inspection with the port mirroring feature. I'm going to put that to work. Maybe share a video on that topic?
Thanks :-D glad you found it useful. Wireshark can be a great tool. I use to use it back in the day to freak people out by giving them their e-mail passwords! oh those were the days! :-D
Great Video, I own the 5 portV2 and (8 port never been opened) versions USA and yes they are nice. If i may say something that can help your video is to film or adjust the white balance. The background is so yellow that it really degrades from viewer from seeing details. Other then that the descriptions of the unit is outstanding.
Hi Thomas, thanks for the feedback. I realised that too, so I have just invested in some new camera equipment and a black background! So the next ones should be a lot better. We have also upgraded our systems to Premiere Pro, so we can do a lot more in post production too, not to mention the audio which has been totally revamped. Stay tuned the next one will be even better I promise!
@@it-mklimited290 That is awesome! Black is a good choice to. Future expansion maybe a green screen project. Be sure to re-task old gear. Looking forward to some more great videos.
FINALLY someone who actually spends some time reviewing this switch hands on. Thanks, answered a lot of my questions.
Hi, Sorry to take so long to reply to your comment. Thanks, I will be trying to do some more soon (ish)
My sincerest gratitude. A proper review.

Hey, sorry it's taken me so long to reply! That's great, I am guessing that's a 16 port?

For £26 definitely home gamer, Soho at a stretch. Might buy one and fiddle with it in the office.
It's totally a home / SOHO product, I'd be happy to use it at any of my customers places, in fact I do!
Loving the gratuitous unboxing!
More coming soon, with better video, and much better audio!
