Welcome to the world of Voiceplay. The one who raps is J None. He used to be a member of Voiceplay, but quit when he went into the Navy. But whenever there's a chance, he comes back as a featured artist. I can't wait to see you react to more of their music. They truly are an impressive group.
They do 90 percent of everything. Arrangements, directing, filming, lighting, costumes, sets, props. There makeup guy is Rick Underwood and their mixer is Ed Boyer.
Voiceplay do all of their arrangements, staging, concepts, editing etc themselves, they dont have a big team working for them. As someone else has already said, the final mix is by Ed Boyer, but the arrangement and initial mixing is done by one of the group. Usually it is Layne (the beatboxer) or Geoff (the bass) who do their arrangements, although one of their more recent songs, Creep, was arranged by Eli. Eli also usually does their lighting design, and in this one did all of the background visuals
The first mixing and ediring is made by the band itself. They are all very talented in that area.
Final mixing is made by Ed Boyer, who is mixing for all major acapella groups.
I've been following VoicePlay for some years now. They are an amazing bunch of guys, multi-talented, in that they arrange, sing, film, and edit their videos themselves. Geoff, the bass, has his own channel of low bass covers, if you're into that sort of thing. I love it. Also they are the most versatile of a capella groups, covering just about every genre of music. There is something for everyone. And many are now in this kind of theatrical style. They also do the costuming and set dressing but they do have a professional makeup artist when necessary. The rap in this is done by the featured artist, J.None, who used to be a full time member of the group but who left in 2021 to lead the US navy music section. He returns when on leave to sing with them again.
I love all their stuff, 7 Nation Army is another favourite of mine that they have done a cover of.
J. None is doing the rap and a lot of the leads, the bass (basso profundo) is Geoff Castellucci, you have Ceasar in the mid ranges and High ranges, Eli is the one in the stratosphere on this one, and Lane is the beatboxer and singing tenor. Lane did the arrangement, Eli also did the sound production, the costumes and the cinematography plan. By the way, Geoff hits an inhuman B-0 subrange and HOLDS it for like 8 bars!!!! I think these are the most talented singers on the planet! There's so much to hear, see and appreciate in this video, from the astonishing vocals to their expressionism...I can't say enough about this group!
Name the genre, and they do it. With their own unique style. You'll find many things to love.
Welcome to Voiceplay! They are unbelievable! This is my favorite song by them. but there are none I actively dislike. Between Geoff's (the bass's) own channel and Voiceplay's covers, they have actually made me love songs I didn't like before. Oh, and I listen to this song on repeat for hours at a time...

As others have said, Voiceplay does everything themselves except cameras and intricate makeup.
Geoff Castelucci, the bass, has his own channel where he sings solo non acapella. He clones himself 3-4 times for harmonies. Each with their own name.... Jeff, Jeoph, Goff and Daryl.
Geoff has a 5+ octave range.

They out do themselves every time! I cannot stop watching this, it is amazing!! Geoff hits 3 B0's! Eli has become the Asgardian god of rock, Layne is a beatboxing god, Cesar has become a Berserker, and J None has shown us that rap indeed belongs in acapella! And Miracle of Sound gave this 10 out of 10 raised ale horns!! Great reaction! This from the Assasins Creed Valhalla video game, but that rap is all J None!!
Try their version of In the Air Tonight, it is amazing, J None is featured again.
They also recently did Creep with Anthony Gargiula as the collaborator, it is as far from Valhalla as you can get, but beautiful.
