And then The Professor pried open a hole as he complained about why the games always end up with his poor laboratory getting destroyed/wrecked/blown up/ransacked/trashed/smashed up/defaced/messed up/vandalized.
Not in the main story, but Spike does have his own playthrough that you can play using a cheat code at the title screen. It's basically the best way to speedrun the game as that playthrough has no cutscenes and gives you all gadgets from the start.
