It was fun watching you react to each section, but you're really missing out not listening to it all the way through without stopping.
The way Al takes all of these components and makes them into one song is what's really amazing.
Btw, I saw Lin interviewed and he said he never could have written Hamilton if it wasn't for his love of Al growing up. Al taught him that he could mix genres, and that's what makes Lin's work so great.
You’ve gotta see the version where the lyrics are synced up with the video that was televised. It’s even more impressive.
Martha Washington named her feral tomcat after him
In "A Winter's Ball", Burr sings that Martha Washington named a feral tomcat after Hamilton.
Frankly, I prefer the one with edited-in shots of the actual Hamilton musical, matching the original performers' mouthing and action... And the entire cast's stage bow at the end shows such respect for the score and performance
Might be Steve Jay hitting that low note. If it’s Al, his range is insane.
A fan from the 90s... youngster!
I first heard him in 1980... before his first album was recorded.
Dr. Demento broke Al to the world on his show, and I had a copy of "Another One Rides the Bus" recorded from the radio before the album came out..
Weird Al was on Jimmy Fallon talking about this and said he took the fastest parts, increased the speed by 20% and did it in 5-part harmony. Legend. Icon.
If you haven't seen it, he has a video of him playing Classical Gas on accordion on his balcony about a year ago. It is greatness.
That long phrase he did in one breath? Listen to the third verse of Hardware Store. It’s longer.
Weird Al is so flipping hilarious. The hubby shares a bday with him 😎
In the last part of "the room where it happened" I think I hear Steve Jay helping out with some of the low notes.
Cowbell.
You stop at the worst times!
weird al is a goddamn earth treasure, canada is a lucky nation to have such a talented and prolific son.
Canada? Al is from Lynwood, California.
STOP PAUSING
fewer pauses pleeeeeeease! listen to it fully, then go back and recap or listen again or something. And you feel mansplain-y. Couldn't make it through.
