Thank goodness for Freddie, bless her!. Nearly 50 and taking on these duties. Absolutely marvelous. Also, shows what a great job the Zoo has been doing in taking care of Freddie - because at her age, great that she is still fit and well enough to be a foster mum 💞
She is always watching the 2 year old and making sure he doesn’t hurt the new baby, carefully turning to keep the baby out of his striking range. It’s cute when he is not so exuberant and he kisses his sister. Freddie really is such a kind and gentle mother.
Freddie is literally a saint. She should be made patron saint of gorillas. You can't tell me animals don't have a spirit/soul. Most humans wouldn't be as selfless as her.
Thanks for regular Jameela updates Larry! I’m from the Ft Worth area and have been following Jameela’s story since she was born. I appreciate keeping up with how well she is adapting to her new environment. Freddie is amazing! ❤
Freddie is doing an awesome job of being mum to two little ones. You can see she's trying to give Kayembe attention, but obviously has to prioritize Jameela. Hold on Kayembe, you've got two little sisters who will soon be big enough to play, just hold on for a few more months. 💖💖🦍
Freddie is an amazing mum! Keyembe is so funny and of course Jameela is too precious, as always. Thank you for giving us a new and beautiful video. I really appreciate you
It's so amazing to see Freddie be such a great attentive mom to both Kayembe and Jameela. When Kayembe wanted to play Freddie was protecting Jameela at the same time she was being understanding towards Kayembe's urge to play. It's the gracefulness & gentleness of her movements toward Kayembe when he got a little too aggressive in his movement towards Jameela. Freddie just touched/stroked him away so that Kayembe will learn to be gentle with Jameela. If she was too aggressive with him & pushed him away he might've felt jealousy but not this mommy, she really does treat them both the same and gives her attention equally as if to say, especially to Kayembe, "you both are my babies & you both are important to me & I love you both so much"! What a great mommy! WOW Miss Freddie!!!!
Another cute footage Larry👏👍🥰so nice to watch Freddie's skills to handle our little boisterous boy and at the same time giving him the necessary attention😍I feel a bit sorry for our dashing dude..he needs a playmate to loose his energy..he's a darling!🥰❤️🌞🌻
👏 So happy! Jameela is thriving under Freddie's care 😊. 4:47 I don't worry when Kayembe becomes a bit rough and rambunctious around Jameela. Gorilla infants are tough, and have a really, really tight grip. 5:39 Freddie knows what to do to get Kayembe settled down, bless her beautiful 💝 heart. She tries not to scold him. Well 🤷 we can expect this from Kayembe because he is a 2.5 year old toddler who loves to play Thanks for the wonderful footage! ❤❤❤
@@sonjavandam1306 👏 Hi my friend ❤️🌹. Freddie, best surrogate mother of all time. 😂 Yes gorilla toddlers are full of energy. It is impressive! At 50 years old Freddie has two babies that she's currently taken on a surrogacy position, and can keep up with both beautiful babies. She's truly a walking miracle. Freddie we love you girly! 💝💝💝
Freddie sure has her hands full! Kai is really giving her lots of attention! God bless her! Kai is full of energy! Jameel’s has learned to hang on tight! She too is very precious!
Actually that’s their normal instinct and why zoo’s try not to handle the infants unless necessary and they wear special shirts of a Velcro type materials or faux fur because they want her holding on to them and not us holding onto her. So nothing is scary or not exactly what she was born to do or to learn so many non verbal communication skills that only another gorilla can teach them, like her reaching for the branches and leaves already is her learning how to process the plants they eat and she’s already watching everything she can. It’s more proof of how intelligent these creatures are and how wisdom plays a big role in the way they maintain their specialized social systems. I’m thrilled for Jameela and she got the best Mother, Father, her siblings and her entire troop plus many of the best looking after them all.
@@kelleybutler9203 I am aware of all those things, thank you. I have been monitoring and learning about gorillas and their behaviors for over three years, but I do appreciate your comment. Thanks.
It amazes me that there are female gorillas willing and able to adopt the little orphan gorillas…even when they come from outside their own family/troop. Freddie is a role model❤
Freddie is such a wonderful mom to both of them and so very gentle with Kayembe when he gets really playful around Jameela. She can handle it all it seems. Not leaving Kayembe out but just being protective of Jameela. It will be wonderful when Jameela is older and the two of them and the other baby can all play. Great video. Thanks.
Freddie's got her hands - and her back - full. ❤ She sure looks healthy, too. She's an amazing gorilla. Mokolo's stepped up, too. Wish they had more room, but I know that's expensive to construct. Thank you, Larry, as always, for these fascinating videos.
Thanks so much Larry for filming them. Kayambe reminds me so much of when the then 3 year old Lope from Twycross Zoo wanting to play with the few months old Shufai and also wanting to have attention from their mom, Ozala. Both brothers were so interesting to watch and Lope always having a go with his mom. Now Lope is 11 years old n is moved to another zoo which is Zoo Bassin d'Arcachon in France.
@eagse-Awh, Lope, my first gorilla love.He will always be the ultimate RASCAL.but Shufai, learned from the master and is now carrying on the rascal gene with his Auntie Asante and grandma Biddy. She eating for two again, herself but also nursing. Freddy’s truly is an amazing alpha gorilla and always has been. They talk about how intelligent, socially savvy and of course tons of wisdom. Unlike some young gorillas that are alpha like Freddy’s always been, they can be bullying and mean at times but the keepers and primatologist talk about how Freddy has always been very alpha but she was so clever and never had to bully or be mean to a lower ranking gorilla. As they get older it’s easier but for Freddy to display the calmness and more calculating approach to issue was amazing. Then she’s has all her babies, then 19 years after she had her last and had to have her uterus removed, she picks up newborn Kayembe and also started spontaneous lactation 2 months later is just amazing. She of course is nursing Jameela and she nurses Kayembe at times but more for security and for everyone to know Freddy is still his mom. The primatologist, other Doctors and expert are amazing at her understanding how Kayembe just needs that little confirmation that he’s still he baby too. They’ve got a picture of them sleeping at night and Freddy’s of course holding, snuggling with Jameela but with a free hand she was holding Kayembe’s hand as they were all sound asleep. He’s getting more calm everyday and of course he is doing certain training and you know it’s working because Kebi’s letting Kunda explore more and her and Freddy will try to put themselves in a way where if they need to remind him to stop, their both making like a protected area. Also I don’t think many understands just what live is like for tiny gorilla’s in the rainforest or how tall the trees are and they start going up as newborns and by 2 month’s they’re holding on fur because it’s a natural instinct for them and from 3-4 months old till about 3 years old they are riding on their mothers backs. So Jameela is actually doing exactly what co myself naturally to her and why they didn’t hold her much or wore the special Velcro or fur shirts so she held on to them and not them holding in to her. Before you know it both of those girls are going to be driving Kayembe crazy because female’s are more playful and for much longer in their life. I can’t wait till they tell us more about the “Primate Rain Forest” they started but will be opened in sections as it’s going to be huge. I’m want to hear more for the zoo society, I know construction is already happening but I understand they’re not going to talk about it until it’s necessary. They’re habitat isn’t as big as I’d like but I don’t think people understand how much you don’t see and how big it truly is and they change the enrichment in the outside area every year so it’s never completely the same. They’ve learned how it’s truly bad for humans to raise them and why they work so hard at finding foster mothers or is female mentor by no later than 3-4 months is the longest they want to push it. Of course sometimes they’ve had to but it’s always proven to stunt them in ways that are obvious especially to the primatologist. All Gorilla’s in zoo’s and aquarium’s is overseen by the Gorilla SSP (Species Survival Plan) and they make the decision and one of the leaders works out of Cleveland but it handles Gorilla’s around the world ie: Canada, North America, Mexico and many other nations.

Thanks as always Larry for bringing this family to us. I could literally sit and watch them for HOURS. Is Kayembe just as rambunctious with Kebi and Kunda, as he is with Freddie and Jameela?
LOL! Kayembe just wants to say Hi to his new baby sister, letting her know that he is waiting for her to get a bit bigger so they can play. Jameela is looking healthy and happy riding around on her foster moms back. Looking forward to watching more videos of Jameela and Kunda's daily lives as they grow up and begin to explore their habitat. Thank you, Larry, for taking us along with you on your visits. Wow, Kayembe is a bit rambunctious but Freddie really does show so much patience and calmness. It’s really beautiful to watch how wonderful she is with her babies
Freddie is like me! I love to care for babies too! All my life I've raised not just my own, but others as well. Now I watch my granddaughters! Do I get tired? Sure! .. but it's a good tired, a wonderful tired. ❤❤
I LOVE watching the reactions between Freddie and Jameela! To think just a while ago they didn't know each other, and here they are: Family!! Makes me want to go up and hug and smooch them all! Of course, I'd be "taught a lesson," but it's still hard to resist that wonderful Mom Freddy and little squeezable, smoochable little Jameela! 🦍🦍🦍
Imagine a mum so loving, they protect both babes even though they’re not their own. Does the father ever come around to interact with that babes, even Jameela?
Mokolo interacts with Kayembe the most. As for the little ones, I would describe Mokolo’s actions as curious observations. I have not seen him attempt to hold any of the 3 young gorillas. He does seem to walk right up and examine them closely. Keep in mind those are my observations from a distance - like the other zoo guests.
It is beyond amazing how she protects the baby, that's not even hers!!! Freddie is the best mom ever!! And our Kaye is still a little devil!!! Typical little boy!!! 💙💙💙
Awesome video of Jameela and Freddie and Kayembe I love how patient Freddie is with Kayembe who wants all of mama’s attention but Freddie disciplines him with love and gentle reminders his little sister is just a baby I’m so grateful for the amazing mother Jameela found in Freddie thank you for sharing 🦍❤️
Great video, Larry, thank you! Also for the captions..very helpful. I grew up in Cleveland (live in Columbus now), so will have to make a trip there soon to see little Jameela and her wonderful Mom, Freddie! Thanks again! 😊
He is jealous of the attention jameela is receiving from Freddie but that's normal and Freddie knows exactly how to deal with him and tbh jameela will toughen up quicker, because of her step brother 😂
I forgot that Freddie was 50 years old God bless her and always take care of her, I truly believe she is a great mummy ❤❤❤❤. To anyone that’s new to watching the Gorillaz yes, I understand that that looked horrible when Kayembe jumped on Jameela 😮😮😮 I know everyone was thinking oh my goodness he’s going to kill her,, and I used to think the same way, but let me tell you Gorillaz bones are two or three times thicker than ours. They’re made for stuff like this even the babies and she might’ve got poked in the eye or something, but other than that, she is perfectly fine and Freddie will make sure that. I know that this troop is in a zoo, but when you see. Freddie with 2 little ones or as a foster mum,, I just can’t help, but think of all the wild gorillas, and hopefully grandma or some aunt would do the same in the wild and take care of those babies 🫣🫣🫣🫣
Even when shes just slowly and lazily walking around with Jameela on her back, Freddie is always aware of her surroundings. The moment Kayembe suddenly jumps down to the ground at 3:45, she immediately turns to face him to make sure he’s not sneaking up behind her towards the baby. Just incredible maternal instinct.
An amazing group of professionals at this facility. Thank you so much for the excellent care to these magnificent gorillas. ❤️ Angels and animals.

That’s wonderful! Thanks for sharing Brenda! 👋😁
Such maternal instincts in Freddie. She knows that she has to keep and eye on Kayembe. He is just like a toddler who is jealous of the new baby.
👏😁
Freddie is a super mom.
They should do something special for her on mothers day.
👍😁
I LOVE watching the reactions between Freddie and Jameela! To think just a while ago they didn't know each other, and here they are: Family!! Makes me want to go up and hug and smooch them all! Of course, I'd be "taught a lesson," but it's still hard to resist that wonderful Mom Freddy and little squeezable, smoochable little Jameela! 🦍🦍🦍
👍😁
Freddie is so beautiful, Jemeela has really taken to her new mother. Love 😍 to them both. 😊
👏😁
What an absolute Super Mom!!! She is an incredible mother and accepting non-biological infants is absolutely fascinating !!!!
👍😁
I nominate Freddie for gorilla mom of the year and Jazz for orangutan mom of the year. 2 beautiful, exceptional mothers.
👏👏👍😁
So cute
👍😁
Very nice coverage of Jameela and the troop. Better then the Tv channels.
Thank you! If you are a subscriber you will get a notification when a new video comes out. 😁
Amazing how she protects her from her 2 year old. Beautiful!
👏😁
So the little Kayembe is still a bit jealous of sharing mom’s love! Freddie knows exactly what to expect of him and how to handle.
👏👏😁
Baby Jameela is so cute and adorable. I'm glad she is fitting in so well.
👍😁
Imagine a mum so loving, they protect both babes even though they’re not their own. Does the father ever come around to interact with that babes, even Jameela?
Mokolo interacts with Kayembe the most. As for the little ones, I would describe Mokolo’s actions as curious observations. I have not seen him attempt to hold any of the 3 young gorillas. He does seem to walk right up and examine them closely. Keep in mind those are my observations from a distance - like the other zoo guests.
I got to see Jameela and everyone this past weekend . Freddie is such a good mother.
👏👏😁
Once the 2 babies grow up a bit he can play with them. He has so much energy. I don't think he is jealous he wants to play.
👍😁
I’m glad Freddie has eyes in the back of her head when Kayembe wants to play!
🤣👍
That look of "Just wait until your father hears about this" is universal 😏
🤣
It is beyond amazing how she protects the baby, that's not even hers!!! Freddie is the best mom ever!! And our Kaye is still a little devil!!! Typical little boy!!! 💙💙💙
👍😁
Kayembe is a good older brother. A PAIN IN THE ARSE!!!! 😂❤
🤣🤣👍
Awesome video of Jameela and Freddie and Kayembe I love how patient Freddie is with Kayembe who wants all of mama’s attention but Freddie disciplines him with love and gentle reminders his little sister is just a baby I’m so grateful for the amazing mother Jameela found in Freddie thank you for sharing 🦍❤️
👍😁
Great video, Larry, thank you! Also for the captions..very helpful. I grew up in Cleveland (live in Columbus now), so will have to make a trip there soon to see little Jameela and her wonderful Mom, Freddie! Thanks again! 😊
👍😁
He is jealous of the attention jameela is receiving from Freddie but that's normal and Freddie knows exactly how to deal with him and tbh jameela will toughen up quicker, because of her step brother 😂
I think you are correct. Thanks
Normal sibling rivalry just like in human families.
Freddie is an amazing mom!
I’m so glad Jameela has a mommy now!
We are so glad to have her! Such a pretty little thing. 👏😁
Wow she’s grown! Thanks to amazing mom Freddie🥰
👍😁
Happy Mothers Day to Freddie, supermom.
👏👏😁
Thank you Larry I watch everyday thanks to you. Freddie is such a amazing Mom and what a blessing she is to these 2 babies❤️
Thank you Renee! 👏😁
Freddie is an amazing mother to theses babies
👍😁
Thanks for your thoughtful comment. You are right about their strength.
These gorilla's are all so precious Freddie is an awesome mom 👊Jameela has a good family 💙💚🧡😍🥰
👏👏😁
I’m glad to see Jameela! 👋
👏👏😁
She corrects older brother but is so kind and gentle about it!
She is careful how she disciplines him. 👏😁
Muchas gracias.
Jameela is really growing.
Yes! 👍
You can sure see the difference in gorillas from our country and those of others we see videos of. Their weight, and color is much better
👍😁
Freddie is a very awesome gorilla.
I agree!
Jameela looks so happy being in the arms and on the back of a real mama gorilla ❤
👍😁
This is just a miracle in my eyes. I still can’t believe what she has done with not just ONE but TWO babies. It’s INCREDIBLE!!
👏. It is amazing.
Sifat penyayang yg luar biasa ❤
Ya, kumpulan ini sangat istimewa.
Freddie is so amazing. She has the patience of a saint.
👍😁
These great apes have become my absolute favorite. Thank you
👏👏😁. Thanks for following along.
She has so much love to give
👍😁
Thank you for all the great updates!
👍😁
Even when shes just slowly and lazily walking around with Jameela on her back, Freddie is always aware of her surroundings. The moment Kayembe suddenly jumps down to the ground at 3:45, she immediately turns to face him to make sure he’s not sneaking up behind her towards the baby. Just incredible maternal instinct.
👏👏😁
Larry thank you for making these videos!
👍😁
Such a Sweet Family ♥️💙
👏😁 I agree
Great footage. Thank you so much.
