Jiminy's involvement in this segment remind me of him always being there in either Sora's pocket or hood. Which made think: If Sora is to be hit by a weapon, let's say Saïx' Claymore, I'm pretty sure Sora can endure that, but if that Claymore hits Sora's pocket where Jiminy resides then... well, yeah. Good night Jiminy.

@@judejad9782 Not trying to be rude, this is a genuine question: of all the places you could ask for help, why'd you pick replying to a random comment on a KH video?
It's supposed to be the concept of rebirth. When you lose your heart, body, and soul you die, but your essence remains as the heart returns to Kingdom Hearts and is reborn anew at a later time. If you lose your heart to darkness, the void of light in your heart takes the form of a heartless and the body that is left behind becomes a nobody. If the heartless and nobody are both eliminated, the person returns to the form they once were before darkness consumed them. However, if both the heart and the body are completely destroyed, the soul ends up in the final world. A heart is an essence that cannot be completely destroyed though, as memories keep them alive, allowing even those who are lost to return. Though this is unnatural, as the power of waking is not meant to be used that way.
Not only that. This Lich is only heartless or Grim Reaper that can never be repel from death. It only exists within the darkest abyss to collect hearts for those unlucky.
This part reminded me of the area in End of the World in the first game where you visited a small part of the worlds you visited before, and fought some Heartless in those areas.
Kairi believing Sora wouldn’t disappear was actually a reference to her Grandmother’s tale. She told her to believe in the light beyond the darkness, and it’ll never fade.
The Lich Race: Pureblood Heartless Abilities: Olympus (Afterimage Slide, 6-fold Fire, Aerora), Toy Box (Thunder Disc), Kingdom of Corona (Cloud Magic), Monstropolis (Fire Turn), Arendelle (Blizzaga), The Caribbean (Afterimage Water), San Fransokyo (Afterimage Slide, 6-fold Fire, Aerora, Thunder Disc, Cloud Magic, Fire Turn, Blizzaga, Afterimage Water) Home: The Realm of Darkness Location: The Worlds in the Ocean between Realms Alignment: Real Organization XIII Status: Deceased
You would think that the Liches would be themed around the world you fight them in, as well as getting unique attacks based on them like Sora does. Or maybe their appearance and abilities could be based off of the people whose hearts they took. Or... maybe some combination of the two.
Well, actually, there is only ONE Lich. Not several. That’s why it looks the same in all worlds. That’s why you see a cutscene of it running away every time you beat it. Because there is just ONE Lich.
so anything after riku and sora fell to darkness is a dream, sora went dream into a dream 7 times to find his friends hearts, but that means he used the strength of his heart to get there and the dream got him so wrapped into it that he no longer can leave becausr he is dreaming he and his friends are ok.
So THIS is how they did the "world compilation"? You just run around defeating the same boss again to recover the hearts of your dead but not really friends? ...Don't think about it. Don't think about it.
Magnus Von Braun yeah... they should have made it like: you get to the world that also got engulfed by the darkness, with one of sora's friends's hearts trapped, and as we fight, we get to defeat the Lich, However, he would turn itself into different heartless in the world, or have a thematic regarding of the world... (or even in some worlds it could turn into a “dark” version of the boss on it: like, Wind titán heartless on herc's, A dark Davy Jones in the Pirates world, a dark baymax fight...), and also... each time you fight them, the stage gets dark like in the anti black coat nightmare fight... and maybe we get to hear the eye of darkness theme each time we battle them...)
Somebody didn't get to the final area of the first game, because this segment is literally a reference to that beat per beat. You go through segments of each world you visited, fight some heartless, advance to the next then go to the final battle after you "revisited" every world. Only difference that really matters is the presentation and story context, and even then "weird and out of nowhere" is the defining trait of the entire franchise.
When I saw Olympus at first, I was excited that Zeus took them there after they died because Greek mythology and that Disney worlds would play an actual role. Then I defeated Lich the first time and my heart sank.
i still don't understand why did sora have to die again to be able to save his friends from the Lich. he was just revived, why did he had to spawn back just a few seconds before dying again? meanwhile, after saving them, they basically spawn back many more minutes before the fight. like, couldnt Sora just spawn back before the fight from the get-go? its kinda weird, if you ask me.
He didn't die again, at least that wasn't how I interpreted it. In this series, as I'm sure you know, when you're "destroyed" your heart is split from your body ala the heartless and the nobodies. It's the same death scene both times, the first journey is him recovering his body, the second his heart. They're happening simultaneously. That's just my interpretation though.
My understanding is that after Sora reformed himself in the Final World, he used the Power of Waking to dive into the realm of sleep. Young Xehanort basically stated that he was in the realm of sleep when he appeared after Sora saved Axel's heart. I do not believe that Sora knew really what he was doing, he just wanted to save his friends and his heart used the only power it had that could give him the chance to save them. Which was the Power of Waking. Remember, the Chirithy Sora spoke to in the Final World told him how death and sleep are very similar to each other and often times the two can overlap harmlessly because of how similar the two states are. Therefore, Sora unconsciously used the Power of Waking to find his friends and wake them from their "sleep". When he jumped into the realm of sleep with the intention of saving his friends, he was placed at the point right before Riku died, as he was the last of his friends to die in the battle. Then from there, he was able to chase his friends' "sleeping" hearts, save them one by one from the Lich, and "wake" them. Then once all of them were saved, Kairi (who was in no danger of being taken by the Lich as she is a Princess of Heart) helped all of them make their way out of the realm of sleep and time travel to the point immediately before the battle that killed them. Effectively undoing their deaths and giving them all a second chance.
I don't understand how Sora and company basically got a do over from losing their hearts and basically dying, then going back where they started but NO ONE remembered with Terras armor saving their asses.......fucking stupidest point in this games story.
Well, it's a symbolic portion of the game. Boring, yes. But extremely interesting as far as the lore goes. I think Lich's design is pretty cool. To be honest, that, and the music was the only thing that really kept me hooked on *actually* having to fight him 7 times.

At 9:48 if you look closely, you can see Donald as a transparent version of his Monster form in Monstropolis.
so anything after riku and sora fell to darkness is a dream, sora went dream into a dream 7 times to find his friends hearts, but that means he used the strength of his heart to get there and the dream got him so wrapped into it that he no longer can leave becausr he is dreaming he and his friends are ok.

I like this lich heartless design
I always like when they use heartless versions of Final fantasy enemies
This entire section of the game was so weird and out of nowhere and unlike any other moment in the series.
Did you forget kingdom hearts 1 when sora was at the end of the world and revisited the worlds taken by darkness it’s kind of like that

Time travel is strange but atleast he discovered what the power of waking is

Sora committed a taboo, he literally damaged reality... balance demanded restitution.
So does Jiminy stay in Sora's hood while he's fighting and flipping and stuff?
