This story fits for sora and roxas as well. Roxas was a mindless zombie, eventually growing smarter, becoming his own person. Eventually he started to reconnect with sora. Sora's memories were his, when he was a goofy kid with a duck and a dog on adventures. He gets angry and smashes the computer. As he realizes that Sora is real, and still exists, he knows he cannot. See the building comparison, Sora has to return.
I don't think he smashes the computer for coming to that realization. I think he smashes the computer because he realizes that his entire life was a lie made by someone else. The gang, siefers posse, the town, the jobs he's worked, the people he met, all lied. He feels used like a tool or guinea pig. So he takes it out on the computer because that's how the illusion is made.
@ganonsannoyinglittlebrothe9112 That's an equally valid reason. That's the beauty of show don't tell. We are never explicitly told "why" that happens, so it's left to interpretation.
I beleive it’s possible that if Demyx was the MOM, that who he is as a Nobody represents who he was without the most crucial piece of the MOM’s heart. His Regrets. Each of the the Nobodies are a mirror of their whole with an important piece missing. For example: Roxas is Sora without his desire to mask/filter how he’s really thinking/feeling. Sora has been demonstrated to get angry at a lot of the shit he goes through, but he hides it behind a mask of happiness. Another example would be Axel being Lea without his scruples and restraint.
@@masquerabe6692 Yup! She’s still got a sharp wit, a clever tongue, and WAAAY too much energy, but instead of being bubbly nice, she’s a mean spirited b!tch.
Wow, this is fascinating. This seems too good to just be a coincidence. It kind of leads to an entirely different interpretation of when the MoM said he would "disappear".
Just want to remind everyone that in the kingdom hearts universe it's possible to make multiple versions of your own heart through messing around with nobody's. And guess what the only thing you really need to time travel is? A heart. And the body made from that hearts time travel likely will count as a version of the originals vessel. So theoretically that master could have thrown quite a few versions of him into the right time periods so he could go watch up close. With the new hearts he made to do this feeling like they went from dumb to smart for a while.
So, I think it's insanely coincidental that you brought up how it only seems like Xigbar tolerates Demyx because he finds him amusing, but is it possible that Xigbar, who we now know is Luxu, knows that Demyx is the nobody of his former master (or just his master in a different form), and that's why he is willing to be around him when the other members of the organization aren't? Seriously though, this theory seems to have a lot of dots lining up, and there's just something about it that feels like it could be true. Perhaps Missing Link will throw a wrench into all of this, or give us more info to support this theory. Either way, incredible work!
and even if he genuinely didn't know, id imagine them being naturally drawn to each other because of their previous lives being close(ish) is a very Kingdom Hearts™ thing to do
genuinely how does every one of your MoM-is-Demyx theories make me buy into it with an order of magnitude more conviction? on the *one* KH theory i have ever been biased against?? HOW?? i like....don't even know who else it could possibly be, if anyone. always been in the camp that MoM is *something* new-ish (to us, the audience), but lately i've been struggling to see how that reveal could be made satisfying in the long term; even in the event MoM was something fundamentally unique to the series-so-far like an embodiment of primordial light, there was something lacking to me. I LOVE this as a vector for both paths to be true at once; MoM can be someone we know AND a brand new character with uncertain motivations. ...the third-eye, sitar, MelMem/MoM connections would also establish any of the series' curiously one-eyed characters as absolutely beautiful red herrings i need this now 😭
I know. I honestly was confused and unconvinced when I heard the the theories that the Master of Masters and Demyx are one and the same. But.. after watching this channel, I hate to say that I agree.. I mean, think about it. All the sneaky tricks that Nomura and his writers have thrown at us, Ansem's Guardian being Terra and probably Marluxia's angel being Strelitzia, the Player appearing to be Xehanort at one point, Sora having had Ventus' heart in him and that being very important... Hey, I wouldn't be surprised if Roxas was actually Ventus' Nobody. Oh, let's not forget, Luxu being Xigbar. It's not a stretch to say the Master of Masters is Demyx too. KH3 made a strong point to harp on how underestimated Demyx was. So often is it the character nobody expects that really is the most capable, and it's just Nomura's style to pull that one over on us. I strongly believe the only way the Master of Masters isn't Demyx is that Nomura read up on how much people already expect it, and he wanted to come up with something even crazier. There's no way he wasn't originally Demyx, at least not to me.
I've Actually Read: "Flowers For Algernon" As The Disney Staff Explained To Me That The Project Didn't Start Off That Way But Looking At It Now, It Pretty Much Has Become The Book. In all honesty your theories are so deep so well researched and have so much effort put into them, but also make so much sense even if they don’t turn out true they are amazing!
@@donobeastson seems kinda early to read it, especially when they talk about the difference between emotional and brain intelligence. Did you read the short or the long version? The long one is 1000 times better
very neat. read that book in middle school. A far off memory thats like a scattered dream. A scattered dream thats like a far off memory. I want to line the pieces up, yours and mine. Two sides of the same coin.
Yaayy you made the video :D. You're the only one i've seen online bring up both demyx's and vexen's character files and discuss them. Definitely need to rewatch and process this information. The b roll in this video was definitely interesting ahaha. Loved the use of Jaque
Oh and the connection between the Sitar and the third eye is an interesting idea. Water has strong symbolism in KH too so its really suspicious that Demyx has water. It represents the subconcious (dive to heart) and birthplace of humanity irl. TWEWY has a lot of stuff about music and vibrations too. Different undergrounds exist on different vibrations, noises, composer etc. So I think Demyx music motif being symbolic and important would be on Nomuras brain. The gazing eye brings to mind the description for Bahamuts eye in D&D and hes in the Verum Rex game apparently. And also the all seeing eye of god... king of kings being a name for god and bahamut is the king of dragons... people really dont give KH enough credit for how meaningful and symbolic it is. theres a lot going on lol
Very true! KH has led me down so many different rabbit holes. I love trying to figure out what all the symbolism means. It's just rare that an inspiration stands out as being as obvious and intentional as this one. Whenever I catch something like this, you can count on me to make a video about it. lol The TWEWY connection is an exciting one. I wish I could say for sure that MoM/Demyx is supposed to be like a Composer in the world of Quadratum because I looove that idea, but I feel like I would be jumping the gun a bit. It fits so well... One thing that's always at the back of my mind is the way that many of the KH titles include musical references, like "Remix" and the coda mark in the Re:Mind logo - and "Melody of Memory", of course. In a meta sense, it's like the KH series is a piece of music someone is creating. It gives the feeling of MoM controlling things from the outside, in a place beyond anyone's reach. Oh, and thank you for the movie recommendation. I'll have to check it out!
This is so fascinating to me, I'm so glad this popped up on my page. I've never heard of that book and would never have gotten that reference. That's such a specificly chosen thing and it really makes me want to dig deeper into all the other character files.
I never liked the idea of Demyx being MoM, I love KH but the fact that almost every character is just an alternate version of someone else always kind of bugged me, and I want Demyx to be his own character, not just another alternate version of someone else I wont deny theres definitly some evidence, and this video presents everything nicely, but another comment brought up a theory that Demyx could be the first replica, and I like that theory a ton more over the "Demyx IS MoM" I just really want them to be different people, I really want Demyx to have something for himself instead of just being MoM
The whole idea of No Name, or MoM's "third eye" being a link to Demyx being MoM's Nobody makes a lot more sense when you notice Demyx's eye color is the exact same as the eye on No Name's blade. While the Gazing Eye is present on other weapons in the series, I don't believe there's currently such a strong resemblance in terms of eye color among characters. The other candidate for having a similar eye color would be Riku, but his KH3 design has recently changed his eye color to an almost pale green color, not matching that of the Gazing Eye. Beyond the eye theory, I believe Demyx's name could be a clue in and of itself. Assuming his non-Nobody name is Demy, a variation on the word "demi" meaning half, perhaps he is only half of MoM? Whether that means he has half his intelligence, half of his memories somehow locked away, or half of his heart I don't really have any idea. Wild speculation, I know, but maybe it'll lead somewhere in the future.
Funny you say that! In one of my other videos, I talked about how MoM's original name might be X and Demyx's name could mean "half-X." I still like that idea a lot. Since his name is spelled the same way as the word "demix" in Japanese, I've wondered if it might even be a reference to the musical process of deconstructing a fully mixed song into its various parts. "Mastering" is also a musical process.
@@flagfighter Ah, whoops! Didn't even realize you already covered that theory, I just stumbled upon this video in the midst of my pre-Missing Link KH lore/theorycrafting brainrot. I love all the potential roads linking Demyx to MoM though. I'm sure though that we'll see the process behind MoM's return as a major plot point, however. From what it seems like, KH4 focuses on the idea of fiction versus nonfiction, with Quadratum being fictional in this case. Maybe MoM's non-Demyx half which we see in Quadratum is relying upon Sora and Riku finding a way to return home in order to be reunited with his torn vessel in Demyx? Whatever happens, I'm excited to see where Demyx's story resolves.
I immediately love Charlie. Thank you for introducing me to this book. This theory is also incredibly well thought out. One of the better theories I have heard. Tons of respect for you, I am thoroughly impressed.
This was pretty fascinating. Your stuff definitely has made me believe that Demyx and MoM are connected. Also love seeing stuff about Vexen since he's a pretty underrated character.
I belive demyx could be in a similer situation to what hapend to terra but diffrent. with what we know the master can do he could very well use the same loophole that allowed malificent to visit data daybreak town to bring a young demyx or present demyx back to that time and then stow away in his heart and body. Or alternatively demyx could be a heart that the master sent to the future as a copy of his so that it would grow its own body for him to come to when he time travels into the presnt. In other words demyx could litrely be a copy of the masters heart only there to wait for his use as a vessle for the master in the future
Ah I love that Kingdom Hearts speculation is still alive and strong after all these years. Literally can’t wait for the next phase to introduce even more mysteries (hopefully stuff with Lea/Isa’s friend, origins for Aqua/Terra, and literally anything for Naminé to do).
When you think about it, Zexion and Ienzo have very different personalities as well. Zexion has a dark personality, a little spiteful and envious too. Ienzo is a cheerful character with a science background. It's very possible that Demyx could have a very different personality as a Nobody to that of his original self.
That's not entirely true and actually misses the mystery that surrounds him. He was orphaned very young as a boy. We don't know the cause of their deaths. Then he was adopted by Ansem. Making Ienzo a very tragic character. Not cheerful. Then the experiments on Xehanorts memories was actually Ienzo egging Ansem to do it. He was the one to push the research into the next level. He was the very start of Ansems betrayal. He was the reason Xehanort decided to split himself. He was essentially the pusher of all the dominos to make KH1 happen. Without Ienzo nothing would've happened in KH1. That's how much mystery surrounds this character.
Interesting the focus on intelligence. Given ReMind and stuff yozora says I'm convinced we will be focusing more on the mind aspect of people. And how it conceptualizes all the other concepts in the world itself and reality.
Very interesting theory on Demyx and MoM. It’s nice to hear what other people have to say about the connection between these two. I like the part where Demyx could be MoM’s alter ego, I mean look KH is full of them! Somebodies and Nobodies, Light and Darkness, Dreams and Nightmares, the list goes on. Demyx, as the MoM’s nobody, could be who the MoM was when he was younger; he just doesn’t have all the high intellect and genius the MoM has. I think his lazy and stupidity acts as a coverup for for where the intelligence would be. Just a matter of perspective. Demyx is my favorite non Sea Salt organization member (next to Vexen of course) and I always wanted him to be his own character separate from the new current main antagonist (MoM). But if he ends up as an alter ego of MoM outside of MoM’s end of the world plot then I’ll settle for that.
Kind of a weird scary thought if your proposed theory is correct: While we do not know where the MoM is at the present, whether he has become lost within the human form of Demyx, or absconded somehow as a heartless/nobody/vessel, ..per the rules of KH time travel (though they are not exactly consistent,) you can travel forward through time as long as there is a variant of you / vessel for you waiting at the destination. So conceivably the MoM from the past could literally jump forward through time and inhabit Demyx at any point and do whatever he wants, god knows what that even is. This honestly could be a very interesting dynamic where MoM and Demyx are fighting for control over the same body, kind of like Terra and Xehanort, except ideally we'd get to see a lot of that internal back and forth before Demyx finally breaks free, potentially wiping his memory in an attempt to purge the MoM from his mind/heart. Things do get a bit messy when you try and break down the convoluted lore that distinguishes heart, body, soul, how those things interact, ..whether mind is a persistent shared force through all of those aforementioned parts, whether a soul (the force of life) is necessary to maintain the existence of a heartless and nobody; whether it be something split or something shared? If two versions of the same heart/mind are radically changed over time (disregarding the notion of semblances) are they still considered the same heart? What then would purging the memories of a shared heart do? Would it send MoM back to where he came from, or destroy him? It's fascinating to think about, but also frustrating.. as many of the core elements which govern the shenanigans people get into in this series' universe have never been fully clarified, --or have since been retconned in a way that somehow makes things even lese clear. Can only hope Nomura irons some of these things out before going forward.
I'm not sure what I believe in regards to the theory but it definitively has to be foreshadowing. Ireally appreciate analyzing the literary and pop culture inspirations behind Kingdom Hearts. I don't think any similarity with Roxas and Sora was a coincidence, it sounds like Nomura was heavily inspired by it. Also Algernon sounds so emotional! I always got emotional from Roxas story too. Your video and algernon helped me conciously realize why so thank you! I love the themes of understanding the heart with science vs emotion vs intuition in KH. I suggest watching the movie Dark City (1995) if you are interested in more references. It seems to have also inspired the Roxas part of KH2, the Organization, and The World That Never Was (whose city is called Dark City.) But most importantly for theories it seems like the villians of the movie inspired The Darkness too because they can't understand hearts.
At the end of the day, I believe the MoM to be either demyx, older sora that went back in time or luxu that used time travel in a somewhat parallelled, yet opposite, fashion that xehanort did. All of those just based off of what MoM's mannerisms are like
The first two could be true at the same time, meaning Demyx would be Sora's pure nobody, without any influence from Ventus. Remember, Sora is characterized as being a casual layabout on the islands, perfectly content to just fall asleep on the beach, it's his friends who motivate him to be more active. Sora being called a lazybones is some of the first bits of dialog we get in the first game. Also, AN ISLANDER, he's surrounded by water all his life until the events of KH1.
I made a video about the box! I think it contains something really unexpected. When I think about the particular method that the MoM used to time travel to the time of Dark Road, I lean away from thinking that the box contains his heart. I'm pretty sure he needed to have his heart in his body in order to do that. But since the box is inscribed with "Xsuper", I bet that its contents do relate to the MoM in some way. Or... Who knows. Maybe it is his heart somehow. lol
Fun fact. The way time travel works in kingdom hearts would allow Sora to time travel back to daybreak town as long as there was a data version of him in that time
@@liamwhite3522Did they time travel to create those data versions? I figured, with how far back in the past Daybreak town existed, the real Mickey/Donald/Goofy wouldn't have even existed yet right?
I feel that Demyx is "Prompto expy". He is friends with Yozora, The Noctis that looks like Sora and Riku together. I think the Master of Masters is Sora and Riku fused together. So Master of Master is mirroring Yozora who is friends with "Demyx". The Master create the Light of the Bloodlines that end up in Riku. Riku shares his Heart with Sora. And if things go wrong, Sora and Riku become One, go back to the Past where the Light always is as the Master to "Try again".
Yozora already appears to have a "Prompto." That's Magia, the guy with red hair in the Verum Rex trailer. Visually, I believe he's a combination of Prompto and Ardyn. Aegis, the guy with the glasses, appears to be a combination of Ignis and Gladio. If you watch my first video, I explain how Demyx, the MoM, and the rest of the Lost Masters, are connected to characters from Agito XIII. I'm going to make a more in-depth video about them at some point.
Ive never really vibed 100% with the Demyx = MoM theory, partly bc of how it would change his character like you said but mostly because Xigbar was such an incredible twist that it feels like a really hard act to follow, and I don't think revealing that Anyone "was MoM all along" could possibly hit the same. but I can't deny there's plenty of evidence to support it, even before having watched your vids. that's why I like theories like this though, that posit the potential "twist" as less of a "twist" and more of a development for the character themselves. There's another theory I've seen around that Demyx is "the first Replica", a clone MoM made of himself that doesn't have his memories but does contain his personality as well as his Other eye (he doesn't need eyes to see. Riku got around blindfolded and managed just fine :P). Being the first "replica" makes him the first "created" human, and so his true name is Edym, similar to Adam. (This also gives us Edym and Ava lol) It's another theory that allows Demyx to be connected to MoM while still being his own person. I much prefer the idea that Demyx doesn't know his own true identity anymore than we do, and while it'll make him much more important to the plot it won't result in a drastic shift in his personality. the parallel you drew between Charlie and Roxas has one missing details: Roxas's story doesn't end there. He doesn't just go away forever, but gets to live as his own person now, separate from his original self. If Roxas can do it, Demyx can too. :)
(I do have ONE "This person was That person the whole time" theory that could potentially follow up xigbar though. especially if he's there for the reveal and never saw it coming lol)
I like that one! I've considered something similar. The Darkness didn't have physical forms, so they couldn't be defeated. The MoM created unrest which lured the Darkness into him and the other Lost Masters' hearts, trapping them in physical bodies which could then be destroyed. At the time, I thought "No, he couldn't possibly have meant it like THAT..." But what if he did?? What if he planned to literally destroy his own heart and body to take out the Darkness along with him? I don't know if the other Lost Masters would be crazy enough to do that, but he probably would since it was his plan. In that case, Demyx might have been his vessel. He could have been a separate person who was just very similar and compatible with him, or he's a clone. Or... Maybe he's just what you get after the MoM destroys himself. Like, he's the surviving piece of the MoM's heart or something. idk... It's amazing how many different ways this could go. lol
@@giginoelani5880 namine is ava 👉👈 but like in a similar way to how Roxas "is" Ventus. one sort of "reincarnated" into the other but they're still separate people. at some point Ava's heart made contact with baby kairi's heart and ended up taking refuge there
Well, this was very interesting, now if the Reference to that Book really is anything to go by, then I think I might get even more convinced of Demyx being MoM, though the Question then is: would Nomura really be so inspired to go that far with it? Honestly, at this point, I am actually kind of hoping that your Theories are amongst those who holds at least the most water, just to see how everyone reacts to it. Regardless, the more I watch Videos like this, the more I am looking forward to see what we get from Missing Link and KH4.
Back in hs 2006 i created fan theories that larxene, marluxia and xehanort were once keyblade wielders. I also created a 14th member of organization that was a girl who was connected to Sora and axel becoming a keyblade wielder in 2007
Omg I need to know more about this hahahaha I also wrote a fic in maybe 2012 about a girl who was found without memories in Radiant Garden and experimented on in the castle (not necessarily in a heinous way though lol. She eventually befriended apprentice Xehanort and joining Organization 13 as the 15th member in my fic, but still funny how similar her backstory is to Subjext X)
You are so wise and underrared pal. I have listened the entire videto know the possible scenario between Demyx and the MoM. Demyx is the best and the foolish guy in the organization, my favorite enemy, and the best twister in KH3. I always thought a year ago that he could be the possible concealing Master of Masters. Similar attitudes, similar behaviors, appearance unknown. The representation of Charlie is so spotted on that was identical to the life of Roxas, as this depicts Demyx's unknown origin. I am surprised that I got recommended about this, I have been away from Kingdom Herts for 2 years, have not played Re:Mind until now. For I have already seen Vexen atone himself because of the hints he left on Castle Oblivion, he seems to dislike the interpretation, decides the fate to tell off Sora something about the Organization XIII. Man I love this video, I love to know anything about the hidden face of the MoM. If there were even more theories you have researched. I care most of the effort you got. 💜
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed it. ^_^ You'll probably like the rest of my videos, too. There are many possibilities when it comes to MoM and Dmeyx and I like to explore them all.
I'm surprised I haven't seen this theory yet, this is great. Very insightful. Makes me wonder if there are anymore more book parallels to other KH characters 🤔
I heard about the book for the first time, but it makes me remember an episode of "Welcome to Gravity Falls": Little gift shop of horrors. The episode has multiple short stories. In one of them a pig eats stuff that makes him more intelligent than most of the shows cast. After a while he realizes that intelligence didn't make him happy and he decides to revert the effect to become a regular pig again. Its a short story in a cartoon series, but it still has some "intelligence vs. happiness" philosophy in it 🤔 My theory on Demyx is (and always has been) that Demyx is MoMs past self and that MoM is just doing lots of these things to prevent getting vanished by the changing flow of time. It would explain his behaviour, but some "information" must be (purposefully?) wrong in order to work out the way it did. The thought of "retcons" is always treated like blasphemy in theorist communities, but spreading false information to manipulate others has been one of the most successful tools in the organizations disposal, so I think there will be more of it in the future 😁
I dont know how i never realised demyx is a hippie… i mean if you fight him and he summons his water clones, you hear that short psychedelic giggle every time, same with the rc i think.
well nobody makes sense. MoMs heart could be in quadratum as he k worded but his nobody is on reality. The box could have an item to anchor the heart as well as Luxu keeping his memory...could it be a replica made in the past in order to have a 1:1 reincarnation of sorts meaning Demyx would become his own being like how Roxas, Namine and Xion are developing hearts of their own.
It will be interesting if they planned for Demyx to actually be the Master of Masters, as it would mean that we have already seen him in Kingdom Hearts 2, alongside Xigbar/Luxu (if he is indeed Luxu) in Organization XIII.
Extremely interesting with the clues and symbols to support this. I have a strong feeling that's the reason why Nomura has not revealed who Demyx's somebody is? I believe Luxord's somebody is yet to be revealed either.
An old theory I had was that Demyx was a younger version of the MoM. ((Like young Xeahnort)) I thought that would explain why Demyx still has two eyes. Idk though.
Something I thought of both before but then in more detail while watching this video: the MoM at one point says that what is important about the Book of Prophecies is *when* it was written. What if the missing piece of how the MoM became degenerated into Demyx is that he didn't, that he's Demyx's future. It's important when the book was written, because it must have been after the end of the BoP's final words. MoM appears on the scene pre-X and back cover with the Book in hand. Could this be because he is from the time period when the BoP was written, as a post-KH3 Demyx who then ends up back in time?
I've thought of something like this before, too. I'm not sure if it holds up for me, but I still like the general idea of it anyway. lol The reason that I don't think that the MoM could be a future Demyx is the same reason I don't think that he's Sora; there would be no reason for the Gazing Eye to exist if he's already experience the future firsthand himself. That was the whole reason why he needed Luxu to painstakingly watch over the keyblade with the Gazing Eye for years. Besides that, it's impossible for someone to travel that far back in time. They would need a vessel. (The only reason Maleficent could do it was because a digital vessel of her existed in the data projections that were created from the BoP.) I'm sure it's still not completely impossible, though. I'm just not sure how it would work.
@@flagfighter I agree he's not Sora, though my reasoning is different, as far as not needing the Gazing Eye if the Master already knew what would happen, but there's a few assumptions there I'd like to examine. The Master frequently does things with a purpose alternate to what the expected or stated purpose is. The Master clearly already knew what happened in the book and when it was written during the X[chi] saga and his whole plan is a bootstrap paradox at this stage. He still needs the book to maintain his current existence since his actions are entirely based on its contents. Additionally, the book's secret second purpose(probably the primary one, like how the real purpose of the Unions and the War was to trap Darknesses in the foretellers and had nothing to do with the actual events unfolding) is to act as a guide to all the times and places the master can travel to using Luxu and No Name as his Waypoint. I'm also not convinced one way or another on a future Demyx becoming MoM, but I've been trying to construct some sense for his anagram, and the only combinations I'm finding is if we leave the X in, DM/MD Xye/Xey, Dark Master or Master Defender or something Xey/Xye.
@@flagfighter I'm not fully convinced the purpose *WAS* to experience the future. Similar to Luxu asking Ava if she ever considered the master didn't care about the fate of the world and only the fate of the Foreteller's themselves. I find it more likely that regardless of his knowledge or possible past or future presence for the events of KH3 has little to do with whether he needed to send Luxu, No Name, on their journey to create the book, because the master reveals the Book , Luxu, and No Name's truest purpose already: to act as a waypoint for him ot time-travel to ANY point where Luxu and No Name exist, using the Book as his guide.
@@kaielthoth5363 I feel like that would be what they call an "untwist." At that point, if the Gazing Eye wasn't even necessary to write the book, then it seems like there's (so far) no point for the Gazing Eye to exist. Which is to say... I HAVE wondered if the Gazing Eye is all a sham. LOL I wouldn't put it past someone like Demyx to PRETEND like he has a cool power like seeing the future. That said, I don't really believe that. But it is another thing that isn't totally impossible, so we can consider it.
This popped up in my recommendations and I was like, no, not AO3 Nanaki??? But then I saw the video title and thumbnail… Must be AO3 Nanaki. 😂 *waves hand* It’s Anra7777. This is my alternate username I sometimes use.
Oh no, you've revealed my easily googleable secret identity. 😩😭 lmao Yeah, it's me. I got tired of seeing other KH youtubers hate on MoMyx and decided to become the change I wanted to see in the world. ✌ Nice to see you here!
I went back to Demyx (as i never beat him as a kid in KH2) to see someone wipe the floor with him on Crit mode when i realized “wow, if theres any ORGXIII member that i never liked but lowkey seems most like me, it’s this dumbass” Then immediately find your video right after and hear the intro💀
Yo this is going to sound crazy but what if the mom is split up into 3 like xehanort was? How ansem was xehanorts heartless and xemnas was his nobody what if luxord is the moms heartless and demyx is his nobody?
Demyx literally means half of “X” so you really have to wonder about that. Great video but in my opinion it almost does seem too obvious Demyx could be the MoM especially since the community has caught on to it. Thus, I don’t think Demyx is the MOM in my opinion.
Flowers for Algernon was a required class reading in my Elementary School. I'm only 28. I'm flabbergasted it's being referred to in this way. Did you even read the book? It's about a mental handicapped man which is definitely a sensitive subject matter but the storytelling that it was allowed to create because of it is amazing. That scene is about Vexen. He's Charlie. He's forgoing all his research to "Atone". Everyone thought Ansem was dead when Even, Ienzo, Braig, Dilan, and Aeleus betrayed him. Because of Xehanort leading them to the Dark Realm and corrupting them to do more unethical research. Demyx shouldn't be seen as important until explicitly stated to do so. At the moment he's just a care free dude trying to get by. Remember he is forced to work for the organization just like Roxas. Which bears the question why use Roxas when Xehanort knew about Demyx history with Keyblades? Does Demyx even know? Is it amnesia? Acting? Has he ever even used one? I'm also sorry to inform you of the fact the "Character Files" Book follows a different continuity. They're written by the same man who does the light novels of KH. But the sad part is they cut worlds and characters from the games when they made the novel. Simba is just not mentioned in the novels, mangas, or character files. Alantica just never happened in the novels. Fairy Godmother is just there and does nothing since Sora doesn't learn summoning in the Novels. Yes gameplay mechanics are canon. You cannot use any other source besides the videogames to judge the continuity. I literally open up my save files when I have these discussions because it's all there. The novels got nothing on the games details. I legit panicked when you said it was in a character file but when I realized you meant the book I sighed with relief. I want to stress the idea that it's a "videogame" and how it will matter in KH4 since we're going to "Unreality". Which should be very obvious to everyone they exist in a made up reality of Imagination. That's actually going to be the reveal. "... Is any of this for real? Or not?" The problem is that Videogames are a superior medium in every shape and way. You cannot beat the detail and level of storytelling a videogame can provide. The novels cut content and are still thick just give a small sample of what it's like to actually BE THERE. I blame certain channels gaslighting the fanbase that the novels are canon when they straight up DELETE characters.
??? Of course I read the novel. Big disagree. I see Vexen as representing the researchers, particularly Dr. Nemur. He wanted to help people with the procedure, but he failed to realize how it would impact Charlie's life in the long run. At a point, Charlie basically accuses him of using his "success story" to chase clout in the medical world. Charlie felt like he and Algernon were mere research subjects to him. It's the reason he releases Algernon from his cage. I considered whether Riku Replica and/or Xion might be Vexen's "Charlie", but since he specifically talks about Sora and Demyx and refers to them as fools, the analogy is clear. The Character Files might be written by the same person who wrote the novels, but that doesn't mean that this book isn't canon. It's basically an Ultimania. Certain stories in it hint at things in the future of KH which wouldn't make any sense later if the author didn't have information that came straight from Nomura. I don't believe that it follows the continuity of the novels.
I think you fail to realize this is a theory and therefore any character can be deemed important just from that alone, but also the clear fact that Demyx, Larxene & Marluxia were deemed important the second Xemnas told them and us that they were in KH3. Which by your logic would mean Demyx is important and it’s fair game to speculate on how beyond being just a regular guy. It’s beyond confusing and out of Nomura’s character if Demyx was someone uninteresting despite signaling him out as being important. The fact that Larxene and Marluxia’s relevance to keyblades and where they were found was revealed, but somehow Demyx’s has yet to is suspicious and is worth looking into. Also, while the novels are secondary canon, Nomura trusted Tomoco’s understanding of the characters and themes enough to include Xion and allow her to help write the game Days. I wouldn’t speak ill of her work or how accurate any of it is as Nomura’s been really selective over the story and who he allows to touch it (I’d trust his choice in people over your bias); Seeing as most people on the team didn’t even know the true color of Kingdom Hearts until they were working on 3. Of course, the games take priority over secondary and third canon media, but you don’t have to act high and mighty over video games as a medium Also, it’s a no brainer that the original media of a work will be better than any other version as it’s the creators original vision to the purist it can be (despite the amount of hands, minds, translations and filters it has to go through reach us). The English version of the games are inferior to the original Japanese take, but I doubt you’re pulling up that version in your haste to argue over a theory.
What are you referring to, exactly? There were intentional grammatical errors in one of the quotes from the book. I'm a professional writer, and I have someone who proofreads for me.
Wait is it possible the building metaphor in Algernon is why Roxas fought Riku in the secret ending at Memory Skyscraper?!
Xion was kind of friendly with Demyx, especially in the manga. He only just bailed on her when he found out she was a replica.
That's a really interesting interpretation. I would like that a lot.
Or larxene being Elrena without her kindness.
@@masquerabe6692 Yup! She’s still got a sharp wit, a clever tongue, and WAAAY too much energy, but instead of being bubbly nice, she’s a mean spirited b!tch.
This is definitely something to think about. That's a good point!
I LOVE this as a vector for both paths to be true at once; MoM can be someone we know AND a brand new character with uncertain motivations.
...the third-eye, sitar, MelMem/MoM connections would also establish any of the series' curiously one-eyed characters as absolutely beautiful red herrings i need this now
😭
Yes! Yeeeeesss!! Ahahaha! *rubs my paws together*
In Fact After Reading The Book, I Noticed That The KH Games Is Based Off One Other Book, That Being Grimm's Fairy Tales. If That's Any Kind Of Help.

In all honesty your theories are so deep so well researched and have so much effort put into them, but also make so much sense even if they don’t turn out true they are amazing!
Thank you! ☺
Just started this video and hearing "have you ever read Flowers for Algernon" is all I needed to give this video a like
Reminded me of when I read it in middle school.
@@donobeastson seems kinda early to read it, especially when they talk about the difference between emotional and brain intelligence. Did you read the short or the long version? The long one is 1000 times better
@@shunkun8668 can't remember which version. I just know the class focused on it for a week. That was over a decade ago
very neat. read that book in middle school.
I'm glad you appreciated my choice of clips. It's hard when I'm talking about something that isn't from KH, so I have to get creative. lol
Whenever I catch something like this, you can count on me to make a video about it. lol
The TWEWY connection is an exciting one.
Demyx Has A Part To Play. Too Bad He's Not My Character.

This is so fascinating to me, I'm so glad this popped up on my page. I've never heard of that book and would never have gotten that reference. That's such a specificly chosen thing and it really makes me want to dig deeper into all the other character files.
I never liked the idea of Demyx being MoM, I love KH but the fact that almost every character is just an alternate version of someone else always kind of bugged me, and I want Demyx to be his own character, not just another alternate version of someone else
I wont deny theres definitly some evidence, and this video presents everything nicely, but another comment brought up a theory that Demyx could be the first replica, and I like that theory a ton more over the "Demyx IS MoM"
I just really want them to be different people, I really want Demyx to have something for himself instead of just being MoM
@flagfighter the black box does say "xsuper" .....
I immediately love Charlie. Thank you for introducing me to this book. This theory is also incredibly well thought out. One of the better theories I have heard. Tons of respect for you, I am thoroughly impressed.
Thank you! I read the book because of KH, but I ended up loving it on its own. Happy to share it with more people. Charlie's journey is so emotional.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks Demyx is the MoM
Wow this was. Fascinating. There is so much to think about with this phew
Sounds like my mission has been accomplished. Thank you for watching!! ♥
But if he ends up as an alter ego of MoM outside of MoM’s end of the world plot then I’ll settle for that.
great catch! i had no idea this reference was in the game!
Best Demyx is MoM Video I have seen. Very thoughtful!
Very thought provoking theory! I could see a lot of this being true with Nomura's little twists here and there. Really great work!
Cool food for thought. Glad I found this channel.
So, MoM is Demyx theory. What next? Does the Black Box contain MoM's Heart, infected with the True Darkness of Pride that he lured into himself?
I made a video about the box! I think it contains something really unexpected. When I think about the particular method that the MoM used to time travel to the time of Dark Road, I lean away from thinking that the box contains his heart. I'm pretty sure he needed to have his heart in his body in order to do that. But since the box is inscribed with "Xsuper", I bet that its contents do relate to the MoM in some way. Or... Who knows. Maybe it is his heart somehow. lol
this theory reminds me of Julius Novachrono from black clover and the plot twist of his character.
Gonna have to move that up my watch list...
Fun fact. The way time travel works in kingdom hearts would allow Sora to time travel back to daybreak town as long as there was a data version of him in that time
But there wouldn't be one there, right?
@@Arcana_zero_studios True, but you know who *does* have data versions in Daybreak town? Donald, Goofy and Mickey.
@@liamwhite3522Did they time travel to create those data versions? I figured, with how far back in the past Daybreak town existed, the real Mickey/Donald/Goofy wouldn't have even existed yet right?
maybe MoM was an entity made out of multiple parts
and demyx is just 1 part
Possibly! I've wondered if the heart and soul could be separated from each other, but that's a topic for another video.
Dope. It’s interesting how hold literature can find its way into modern works in someway.
A truly interesting Theory
I am saying Reality mirrors Unreality and Demyx is Reality's "Prompto". And he knows the Master.@@flagfighter
(This also gives us Edym and Ava lol)
It's another theory that allows Demyx to be connected to MoM while still being his own person.
Like, he's the surviving piece of the MoM's heart or something. idk... It's amazing how many different ways this could go. lol
@kefkaexdeath and who's that, Sora? I'm intrigued

I also created a 14th member of organization that was a girl who was connected to Sora and axel becoming a keyblade wielder in 2007
Omg I need to know more about this hahahaha
I also wrote a fic in maybe 2012 about a girl who was found without memories in Radiant Garden and experimented on in the castle (not necessarily in a heinous way though lol.
Its a short story in a cartoon series, but it still has some "intelligence vs. happiness" philosophy in it 🤔
My theory on Demyx is (and always has been) that Demyx is MoMs past self and that MoM is just doing lots of these things to prevent getting vanished by the changing flow of time.
What a profound..story & video. I wish i could like this twice.
I dont know how i never realised demyx is a hippie… i mean if you fight him and he summons his water clones, you hear that short psychedelic giggle every time, same with the rc i think.
I actually read "Flowers for Algernon" in middle school.
This is the good shit
well nobody makes sense. MoMs heart could be in quadratum as he k worded but his nobody is on reality. The box could have an item to anchor the heart as well as Luxu keeping his memory...could it be a replica made in the past in order to have a 1:1 reincarnation of sorts meaning Demyx would become his own being like how Roxas, Namine and Xion are developing hearts of their own.
tbh, I have wondered if the MoM simply died in order to get to Quadratum. lol Makes sense to me.
It will be interesting if they planned for Demyx to actually be the Master of Masters, as it would mean that we have already seen him in Kingdom Hearts 2, alongside Xigbar/Luxu (if he is indeed Luxu) in Organization XIII.
If this was done on purpose id say thats pretty neat of an idea tucked away in a over convoluted story.
Extremely interesting with the clues and symbols to support this. I have a strong feeling that's the reason why Nomura has not revealed who Demyx's somebody is? I believe Luxord's somebody is yet to be revealed either.
cool theory! got me thinking what if he purposely made himself dumb and his intellect is inside the box!
I'm not sure if it holds up for me, but I still like the general idea of it anyway. lol
The reason that I don't think that the MoM could be a future Demyx is the same reason I don't think that he's Sora; there would be no reason for the Gazing Eye to exist if he's already experience the future firsthand himself. That was the whole reason why he needed Luxu to painstakingly watch over the keyblade with the Gazing Eye for years. Besides that, it's impossible for someone to travel that far back in time. They would need a vessel. (The only reason Maleficent could do it was because a digital vessel of her existed in the data projections that were created from the BoP.)
I'm sure it's still not completely impossible, though.
I find it more likely that regardless of his knowledge or possible past or future presence for the events of KH3 has little to do with whether he needed to send Luxu, No Name, on their journey to create the book, because the master reveals the Book , Luxu, and No
Name's truest purpose already: to act as a waypoint for him ot time-travel to ANY point where Luxu and No Name exist, using the Book as his guide.
I only have one word. NOMURAAAA!!
girl i love you
such good content
I went back to Demyx (as i never beat him as a kid in KH2) to see someone wipe the floor with him on Crit mode when i realized “wow, if theres any ORGXIII member that i never liked but lowkey seems most like me, it’s this dumbass”
Then immediately find your video right after and hear the intro💀
Nice made it make sense
I never Knew if that was a sitar or a cello
It's a sitar! But he plays it standing up like a cello for some reason. lol
Neat
Demyx is my mom.
Yo this is going to sound crazy but what if the mom is split up into 3 like xehanort was? How ansem was xehanorts heartless and xemnas was his nobody what if luxord is the moms heartless and demyx is his nobody?
are... you the MoM??
5:36 pls tell me that this is intentional due to the fact that demyx is in the undertale credits
I just like Gaster. lol

Or not?"
The problem is that Videogames are a superior medium in every shape and way.
Of course, the games take priority over secondary and third canon media, but you don’t have to act high and mighty over video games as a medium
Also, it’s a no brainer that the original media of a work will be better than any other version as it’s the creators original vision to the purist it can be (despite the amount of hands, minds, translations and filters it has to go through reach us). The English version of the games are inferior to the original Japanese take, but I doubt you’re pulling up that version in your haste to argue over a theory.
Unrelated contextually but I kindly advise having someone proofread your content as there were many grammatical errors.
What are you referring to, exactly? There were intentional grammatical errors in one of the quotes from the book. I'm a professional writer, and I have someone who proofreads for me.
@@flagfighterI’m dyingggggg. Lmaoo the spelling errors were from the book in reference to the speaker losing intelligence
@@flagfighter Oh shit! My apologies!
@@servantbyday No worries. lol
@@flagfighter At least it is on my books to read this year.
I don't want Demyx to be MOM let them be their own separate people
