It went to power point animation bc of the director(Yuuji haibara) has mostly only done special effect and hasn’t directed any notable shows. My prediction is that haibara told the animators to go make few cuts(to cut on costs and get the anime ready before it air on tv)from the manga and put the rest into after affects without adding any additional scene. Resulting horrible animation with wonky movement and still shots. I have used after affect for about 3 year and i could do a better job than what there doing rn. Sad so much great potential.

I can't be the only one that doesn't understand why would they waste time and money on that terrible Nagi episode movie that is literally just a recap of everything we've already seen and it barely shows any new scenes that weren't straight up copied and pasted from the season 1 anime. Instead of focusing those resources to make season 2 a bit better. I swear, I genuinely can't wrap my head around the fact that the most sold manga of 2023 got this treatment, like, you would expect this of low-budget unpopular series, or maybe long-running series like OP (and even OP, with all its inconsistencies, never looked this bad). But a seasonal anime of the most popular manga? Like, who supervised this? (idk how the hierarchy or contracts work here, but 8bit's top director, the people that hired 8bit for season 2, skateholders, bluelock mangaka himself or whoever that needs to give their approval or has a saying on this before a release) I'm sure some higher-ups must've seen this and said "man, this is trash, we can't release this in that state, not for such an important IP". This just doesn't make any sense.
Unfortunately, production comitees really don't care if their anime is shit or looks bad so long as it gets people interested in the series. Anime tv series are almost never profitable on their own and they know this but the hole purpose of an anime is to get people to buy other revenue streams based around the franchise (merch, manga, etc). That being said, although tv series dont make much money, anime films have been incredibly profitable (just look at the demon slayer films) AND even tho the episode of nagi film was basically a recap it made over 1 billion yen worldwide so the production comitees are clearly making a profit whether it looks good or not.
It's crazy because I was never too interested in One Piece, but recently the animation alone has been appealing to me, and I've been watching a bunch of videos of One Piece. It sucks that they don't realize how important good animation is for the health of the show. Even Demon Slayer pulled in a lot of viewers from animation alone.
Of course! We in the West understand that it's not the fault of the animators that these anime turn out looking this bad. Bad scheduling, low budget, and mishandled management are the biggest issues.
I guess I lived under a rock since football anime isn’t interesting to me but your video made me want to forget this anime ever existed XD thanks for sharing though! Your research on animation was very interesting !
Glad I’m not the only one disturbed by that episode 2, and also not the only one dropping watching this series from this point on. That still of that backwards kick was so egregious…
I don't know why people would assume the anime wouldn't be as bad as the trailer. The trailer is literally the producer's chance to create hype and whatnot and a bad will would just drive away audiences early.
on a side note, bluelock is a strategy thinking manga anyways, im at the latest chapter and i cant stress how every chapter we get more dialog from isagi than actual gameplay , but it makes it easier for an anime because they can just repeat the running animation until isagi finishes his 12th monologue in that one match. its not a normal football anime or manga, its not koroko no basket, its not inazuma eleven , our MC has to think and strategize to beat geniuses , if we had an op MC from the start, a genius like rin for example then he wouldn't need to monologue to come up with a plan. just shows they had an easy manga to adapt with little gameplay to even animate and they still failed.
I didnt know what your argument was going to be but yes you are right. Blue Lock doesn't even have that much action even though its 90% matches. And they still messed it up.
6:45 this just makes me so mad bc imagine all the fans (including me) are so disappointed that a manga we enjoy was turned into a mess its seriously heartbreaking, this manga deserves so much more
Some people already knew just from the leaked list long ago. It says Blue Lock got massive issue and Dandadan looks amazing. Which both confirmed to be true
From an interview of Ryuya Arisawa, producer of Blue Lock: Q: Arisawa-san, when was it decided that EPISODE NAGI would be adapted into a movie? Were there any specific details you found challenging while tackling the movie? Arisawa: Regarding the timing of the decision to make a movie. It was already decided that there was going to be a second season. However, there was going to be a big gap between the two seasons, so around the midpoint of season one, we decided that we were going to add the movie EPISODE NAGI. Because we were in the middle of the first season, we were able to stay in that work mode and play around with the idea to see what it would be like from Nagi’s perspective. This allowed the production of the movie to run parallel with the ongoing series. When producing a TV series, each episode typically runs for 25 to 30 minutes and often ends on a cliffhanger to keep the audience wondering what will happen next. However, producing a movie, which runs for 90 to 100 minutes, requires telling a complete story from start to finish. In original works, every volume also ends in a cliffhanger, especially for BLUE LOCK. So our challenge was to be able to make one continuous story with a beginning, middle, and end that would run smoothly within the 90 to 100-minute timeframe. The original manga was not exactly caught up yet, so we had to work closely with Kaneshiro-sensei to produce the movie while ensuring it stayed true to the source material. ---- bad decision Ryuya.
Out of all the genres/categories in manga, I hold off reading sports mangas because I want to see the games animated. If all we are getting are slideshows then I couldve just been reading the manga at this point.
I don't mind speed lines, but it's crazy that you mentioned this being a best-selling comic. It's soccer, this shouldn't be difficult to animate. The proportions are standardized, everything from physics to backgrounds to attire can be easily researched...

What's the point of doing this??? If they care about money so much they should know that they wont make very much if the product is bad. Why couldn't they just have had the same schedules as season 1? And the thing I hate the most is how it doesn't even look like blue lock anymore 😭 too many colors and effects that were not in season 1 at all and then the png images sliding around. And what's the point of eliminating the animation. What we got was infinitely worse than what we could have gotten if they actually animated the damn show.
Reminds me of Schalke 04 who had a trainer at the beginning for the 20/21 season and then kicked them out after two or three matches…They were almost historically horrible
Thank god someone finally compared it to Slideshow of Ragnarok. Difference is Ragnarok did improve on the next season, but Blue Lock became worse. I moved to both mangas after their first seasons, I had no hope in the upcoming seasons which has proven true!
3:16 and the wild thing is, RoR was able to recalibrate; I don’t believe they ever did this slideshow thing again after this, the second fight in the series. Since then, IIRC, the animation has steadily gotten better, perhaps from the animation team getting the hang of this style or perhaps from gaining a larger team/budget as the company noticed the increasing hype around the not-yet-released show.
And what a shame too. Blue Lock quickly shot up my personal list of favorite anime, and after the Nagi movie, which I thoroughly enjoyed, I was so excited about season 2. They had a really good thing going, and Upper management decided to ruin it all to make a quick buck.

アニメーターを批判するのではなく、製作委員会を批判していることに好感を持ててちゃんと知ってる人なんだなと思いました
Of course! We in the West understand that it's not the fault of the animators that these anime turn out looking this bad. Bad scheduling, low budget, and mishandled management are the biggest issues.
most people in anime community don't blame animator they have enough hard time as is we always blame the studio and committee fuck those guys
Ya, we understand how mistreated animators are, so we never blame animators, only the people in charge

Glad I’m not the only one disturbed by that episode 2, and also not the only one dropping watching this series from this point on. That still of that backwards kick was so egregious…

Sure, but next chapter might be peak.

@@voyu770 thats what I was about to say
I don't know why people would assume the anime wouldn't be as bad as the trailer. The trailer is literally the producer's chance to create hype and whatnot and a bad will would just drive away audiences early.

FALSE EPISODE 35 WAS A BANGER
on a side note, bluelock is a strategy thinking manga anyways, im at the latest chapter and i cant stress how every chapter we get more dialog from isagi than actual gameplay , but it makes it easier for an anime because they can just repeat the running animation until isagi finishes his 12th monologue in that one match.
its not a normal football anime or manga, its not koroko no basket, its not inazuma eleven , our MC has to think and strategize to beat geniuses , if we had an op MC from the start, a genius like rin for example then he wouldn't need to monologue to come up with a plan.
just shows they had an easy manga to adapt with little gameplay to even animate and they still failed.
I didnt know what your argument was going to be but yes you are right. Blue Lock doesn't even have that much action even though its 90% matches. And they still messed it up.
The strongest pngs of today (blue lock) vs the strongest frames in history (seven deadly sins)
Seven deadly Sins having 2 well animated seasons and a good looking sequel 🤪
@@sirhawk705its fact, animation in s1 n s2 NNT still a lot better than blue lock s1

This season is beyond cooked
Audience: We want 120 frames.
Studio: Okay got it, here you go.
Audience: Fk are you kidding me? not 120 frames per episode.
Some people already knew just from the leaked list long ago. It says Blue Lock got massive issue and Dandadan looks amazing. Which both confirmed to be true
From an interview of Ryuya Arisawa, producer of Blue Lock:
Q: Arisawa-san, when was it decided that EPISODE NAGI would be adapted into a movie?
The original manga was not exactly caught up yet, so we had to work closely with Kaneshiro-sensei to produce the movie while ensuring it stayed true to the source material.

bad decision Ryuya.
WHY BLUE LOCK OF ALL MANGAS
New to anime genre and I gotta ask can it be done again, has it ever happened where anime has been recreated once more because it sucked
@@P_I_G_G_Asometimes years down the line they reboot titles. But this will most likely not be the case for Blue Lock. Shame. I enjoy the manga a lot.
Out of all the genres/categories in manga, I hold off reading sports mangas because I want to see the games animated. If all we are getting are slideshows then I couldve just been reading the manga at this point.
Because it's trash, as with all sport anime
If they care juat a little bit about their company they should stop airing Blue Lock RN and restart s2 properly otherwise the company is done for
I'm BEGGING studio 8-Bit to at least delay S2 if not cancel it altogether.
A series as unique and passion-filled as Blue Lock doesn't deserve this.
I don't mind speed lines, but it's crazy that you mentioned this being a best-selling comic. It's soccer, this shouldn't be difficult to animate. The proportions are standardized, everything from physics to backgrounds to attire can be easily researched...

S1: an propet animation
S2: powerpoint
Ragnarok is such a phenomenal concept. If any decent studio picked it up, it’d be one of the biggest animes. Such a shame netflix took it😪
If this was released in the same year as Clutch Cargo's, it'd have completely blown their minds. 😂
“You ruthless heartless bastard”~goku
My honest reaction to this season so far
My hope just faded completely
He ain't wrong, I started reading the manga because of this slide show animation 💀
And what a shame too. Blue Lock quickly shot up my personal list of favorite anime, and after the Nagi movie, which I thoroughly enjoyed, I was so excited about season 2. They had a really good thing going, and Upper management decided to ruin it all to make a quick buck.
As someone watching the shirobako I can picture these problems in my head already.
Your still frame animations had more movement then season 2 😞
