GIANT Tunas by SHRIMP Boats! Catch Clean Cook (Gulf of Mexico Deep Sea Fishing)

- My buddy Kody and Justin invited Brook and I to fish with them out of Key West, FL. We headed West to fish the shrimp boats in the Gulf of Mexico. The shrimp fisherman drag the bottom with nets all night long and then in the morning they anchor up and sort through their catch. They separate the shrimp from what they call "trash", which can include things like blue crabs, ribbonfish, lane snapper, and others. The way the fishery works is you pull up to the shrimp boats and start chumming at the stern of the boat and drift away from the shrimp boat. Fish like cobia, Tuna, Sharks and bonito are attracted to the bycatch of the shrimp boats and hang around them.

I am not big on Blackfin tuna. I like my fish cooked all the way through and you just can't do that with tuna. But I love fresh kingfish, grew up on it, and I cannot wait to try this with that! I'm going to mix in a little bit of crushed red pepper also, and make a garlic butter dressing. This is giving a great idea. Great show guys

I have grown up offshore fishing almost every weekend during the summer of my 48 years. One of my favorite parts of it is trading beer for shrimp. I have a bunch of friends who are shrimp boat captain and that helps also. You get on the radio when you get out there and I know what channel they are on, and you give them a few cases of beer and they will fill up 120 quart ice chest with beautiful Gulf Shrimp. We do this also for the scrap sometimes. But normally when we are trading for the shrimp they will give us the scrap. And I mean all you want. There's no way you can take all of it it would weigh your boat down. And by the way it is not against the law where they are. That's why it is so valuable to them out there. It is against the law for them to take it in state waters, but once they get 12 miles are in federal water, and don't have to worry about it. The only trouble they can get in, is if the owner of the boat happens to see one of his boats on RUclips. But even then they usually don't care.

I love deermeatfordinner also. Rob Arrington is a good family man and he knows his chit. Ive been a "pro" offshore fisherman or learning to be every day of the summer weekends every year for all of my 48 years. I like Landshark because it feels like I'm fishing with my buddies and my dad and my friends. Their rhetoric and everything is even similar to ours. I love this channel because I feel like I am out on one of my trips. Rob over on the other one I mentioned is an incredible chef. But I have to give some credit to these guys also. I saw one of them actually make a jack crevalle appear edible and that is just not something in my world. LOL
