- I took my fishing jet ski 20 miles offshore to catch these fish! In this episode I head 20 miles offshore in my Sea-Doo Fish Pro in search of big offshore fish. We found this old Shrimp boat that had a ton of GIANT fish on it!

🙌 🙌
19:17 your face says it all. Tanner done led you astray. 😂
😂
Heck of a jack.
Thanks brother!
Awesome job 😅
Nice catch, you're a beast doing on a jet ski! Insane!
🙌 🙌
Wow nice vid
🙌
I was rolling on the floor when you said “Not a fan!” 🤣🤣💀
😂 😂
Haha had a blast bro
Same brother!!
Grozza Perth Australia watching
🙌
Ceviche too
🙌
Never tried Jack before. Bonita is actually really good cooked like tuna if you do it super fresh (day you caught it). The best way I've ever had Spanish is a smoked dip. I smoked about 30 a couple weeks ago and made a ton of dip and it absolutely incredible. Honestly one of my favorite ways to eat fish ever.
Man I’m going to have to try this!
Specktacklure video one most action video I've seen great job congrads
Glad you enjoyed it!
Have you thought about getting a front bracket for your sea doo to add a spot lock motor?
The Fish pro is certainly something I’m getting more interested in possibly owning but I’d need that spot lock.
I’ve thought about it but don’t know if I’ll do it
Skin jacks, cut out dark strip, some soak em ' in milk overnight, put on smoker, really good
Good deal!!
Conus taste great
What’s conus lol
i love amberjack thought it was pretty good on a grill
when I lived in Florida I used to keep smaller ones, 12-15". not bad as long as you bleed them
I might have to give them a try
I call them arm breakers amberjack beast of the ocean, good job nate.great fight you won.
🙌 🙌
Nice video! Be careful, you’ll snap that rod reaching beyond the grip.
In Hawaii, the jack family is prized table fare (giant trevally and bluefin trevally (Omilu). Any jack over 10lb is called an "Ulua" and those 9lb and under are called "papio". We ate quite a few 1-5lb papio and always enjoyed it, especially the Omilu.
Awesome man, I take it you were stationed there?
I like jacks regardless, I think they are tasty. I know everyone has their own tastes so I understand people that don’t love it, but if the sharks don’t want your jacks I’ll take em 😂
@southernsalt very first assignment as a newlywed butter bar, and again about ten years later. That second tour, we lived in a 900 sq ft shack (all five of us + the dog), right on a beautiful flat on Kaneohe Bay. I just left my kayak tied up in the water behind our house. Caught many jacks and bonefish (Oio), including a couple 10lb trophy boners. The good ol' days!
@FixItWithFishin we'd devour small jacks...I'd normally cook them whole much like we do pompano here on the panhandle and the family always love 'em.
I know you visit Galveston, if i didnt know better id think you were here in G town. We fish the same, inshore, near shore, run out to the rigs, run out to the floating weedlines, and run out to the tankers.
Yeah man very similar fisheries for sure!
Just eat it lol😂 tell your buddies it’s wahoo
😂 😂
I have had Amberjack and the Captain told us to eat it the night we caught it because it doesn’t freeze well. I’ll tell you what that was some delicious fish!!! I don’t know if Amberjack is sought after for eating but it was absolutely delicious!
Oh yeah AJ is amazing table fare!
We eat Jack crevalle all the time. It is great made into fishcakes. There once was a crab cake recipe on the can of Old Bay, just substitute Jack for crab. I can send it out to you if you want. Fish On!
Good deal!! I might try it soon
Be down Saturday can’t wait to fish..
🙌 🙌
It's has come to my understanding that you have never eaten a jack fish. I'm a Bahamian, and in the Bahamas jack is one of the go-to fish for frying. It also pairs well with grits and avocado, and especially if it's stew (stew fish). I'm sorry if you don't understand it's a Bahamian thing.
That Jack tho! need to go get me one and go for a sleigh ride
Man they’re a ton of fun!!
Nice Jack man it was a monster but I sure was hoping for a Cobia. Spanish Mackerel is good eating however I batter and fry. Deep frying makes everything better. lol. Thanks for the show. God Bless. NW ga.
You and me both lol
the smaller jacks are if you can find em 1-2 pound range
Man I don’t think I’ve ever caught a small one lol.
@@southernsalt fl has em all over the place all i can do is catch the big ones here lol
Sashimi is delicious! ❤
🙌
You caught the shrimpimg boat net. Haha
😂 not this time lol
Excellent sashimi, just need to cut smaller pieces at an angle and add some wasabi and a lil pickled ginger.👌yum
Right on!
big jack
Good guess!!
It would be cool if you could set the back of the jet ski up like a fighting chair where you can leverage the base of the rod.
The newer models have that, I might have to get one soon lol
That sea doo seems to work awesome for fishing out there. That jack put up a heck of a fight. I caught one that was 28.06lbs (so probably close to the size of that one) during the saltwater finaddicts tournament last year and it only took 5 minutes to get him in on my 3000 series trout rod. I think they're easier to get on the smaller gear because they can only put so much pressure on you at once 😂 Love the shirt BTW!
🙌 🙌. Man he was one of the strongest jacks I’ve ever fought lol. I think it a lot to do with the water depth too.
I figured it was a Jack. I ate it once, and it was good, I have not caught one since. I marinated it in Italian dressing, then I coated it with steak seasoning and grilled it medium rare. It was very good.
Nice, I’ve heard to cook it like beef.
what a fight! I haven’t caught one yet but after all that I think I would of kept it and tried eating it at least once.
Lol yeah you ain’t lying 😂
Jack's I've heard are really good eating, ones a little smaller than that one are probably better, but yeah, do a catch and cook on the next one and see. Lol keep the content coming buddy, good job 👍
I think I’m going to have to do that!
Huge Jack! Congratulations! Wow! Biggest one I’ve seen!
When you say kings do you mean king mackerel?
🙌, yes ma’am King Mackerel!
whats the slot on mackeral there. that fish is tiny. was surprised you kept it.
No size limit. Perfect for me to try sashimi on.
They say you can smoke them and they make good fish dip only problem is it would probably be really hard to get them rolled and then lit
😂
I thought Jack was let go by Rose!! Lol
Might be a bit cannibalistic at that point lol
Toughest fish in the water lol. Tried Jack Creval once and that was enough. Nothing like an Amberjack!
Lol good to know 😂 I’m on the fence about trying it lol
Fighting like a jack C
Good guess brother!
I don't mind it, rainbow runner is my favorite for sashimi (yes even over blackfin)
I’ve heard RR is amazing, never tried it
I've eaten it once before.....kinda like can tuna the way we cooked it....
Good deal!
I’m guessing a BIG Jack!
🙌 🙌
Shark...all the way!
I was wrong 😢
Lol good guess though
Jack
🙌
Didn’t like the sashimi I see 🤣 to each his own. You’ll wind up with a bign if you keep taking that rig offshore! That’ll be fun to see
😂 😂
Nate what glasses are those ?
Ocean Waves!
No jack". snook good " cobia good "
I'm betting on a shark but will continue watching!
🙌
Jack Cravelle
Good guess!
Cut the gills immediately to bleed. Cut any blood from the fillet.
Right on, looks like I’ll be trying it soon
A fish
i've heard jack is suppose to be good but you have to soak it in milk
Right on!!
What rod is that? Size / specs
It’s a custom rod I made on a Mud Hole blank 7’ XH
Shark
🙌
Aj
Man I wish it was lol
That’s a nice jack can U eat it?
I’m sure you can, I’ve never tried but I’ve heard mixed thoughts from people about whether their good or not. I’ve always heard that they are very bloody and full of worms
Cobia or black drum
I wish it was lol good guesses!
Man I’m from mobile take me fishing in trying to start a fishing channel and a fishing business but I need some spot for my content I actually caught my biggest flounder on your lure the hoodwink Cajun pepper
Heck yeah man congrats on the flounder brother!!
That sells for 7-10$a lb. must be good eating
I think it’s a different jack species you’re referring to
I guess Jack Crevale.
Good guess!!
Poor man's GT.
🙌
Dude sounds like Jelly Roll
😂 😂
I tried Spanish mackerel I didn’t like the fish
👍🏻
Cobia
🙌
I won't eat any fish raw so definitely a no go for me lol. Love fish but it is going to have to be cooked
Lol right on!
Jack or a shark
Good guesses!!
Jack pretty good on the grill but I bleed them and smoke them like a mullet. Smoke with wood not charcoal and not pellet grill. You really need that smoke
Good deal, I might try soon
I say it’s a jack without seeing
🙌 🙌
Smaller jacks are decent but bigger ones aren't good
Good deal!!
Jacks are actually pretty decent, a lot of people think "trash fish" but if you bleed it good *cut the tail and artery in the gills, you will find it is delicious. But it must be bled and iced down good.
Right on!
I'm pretty sure that's an Amberjack. I caught one on a party boat twenty miles off shore Freeport. It was about that size and I won the big fish pot for the boat😂. Good to eat fresh and frozen.
I wish it was an Amberjack lol
I eat jacks......tastes like tartar sauce
Oh ok lol
Amberjack
Man I wish lol
I think it’s a shark
🙌
Eaten them several ways. No good. Although putting them into smoked fish dip is ok.
Good to know!
862 likes. 38 more and we see a Jack Crevalle C.C.C.
🙌
Not a fan of sashimi anything. I like to fry up Spanish! Thought your big fish was a AJ the way it kept running but that was a huge Jack Crevalle!
Yeah man it was probably the biggest I’ve ever caught! Such a fun fight
smoke it.make smake
🙌
Ate one … not again unless there’s nothing else
Toooooo wormy at that size so I heard!
Good to know!
You want to catch a bull in the water go for a jack
Right on!!
I think that’s where they coined the term Jack Shit. I think they taste horrible. Hell of a fight. Nice catch. That was a tank for sure.
😂
grooper
I wish lol
(Pause) i think you caught a dolphin fish
Waaaay off
Lol I still like the guess lol I wish it was a Mahi 😂
Jackcravell
I worked commercial and charter boats for year. One of our commercial licenses was for kings. I had literal tons of kings available to eat....
Ill take hard heads over a king any day. I dont care if its steaked, fileted, king balls, it always taste like dog shi....
Well dang lol to each it’s own I guess lol
@@southernsalt yes sir. When We'd come back to the dock and clean the fish for the customers they'd ask the best way to cook king. I'd always tell them "get a sheet of cardboard, put the king fillet on it, season it with some Tony's, bake at 400 for 15 minutes, remove from oven and throw away the king and eat the card board.
Watching the fishing was great but nowhere near as good as watching you eat that raw Spanish. 😂😂😂😂😂
😂 😂 😂
A reef donkey
🙌
Lol not a good place to fall in
Why is that?
Can't kill it every day, brother! It would become extremely boring. We will be there in a month, don't forget 9/11, if you're available.
No but I can try lol!! Tough to say about that trip. I may have charters
@southernsalt no worries, I just wanted to remind you of the date. Call in sick! 🤣🤣🤣
Ive eaten jack....bleed it out cook it fresh not horrible but not something I wanna do often.
Good deal!!
Don't eat one how many likes you get.
😂
No good to eat
Good to know!
your doing it all wrong either use ponzo sauce, soyu with wasabi, or finadenne sauce, doing sashimi style just plain soyu is to salty smh
Ok then lol I’ll do that next time
