Loved the video! I live in Tennessee but we have relatives in Alabama and was invited to come work the summer on one of their friend's scrimp boats. Mom said I was too young, 15. I have regretted that my entire life. I did however spend the next summer in Myrtle Beach SC at my uncle's campground, [Lakewood Family Campground] helping clear and build camp sites. That is another story for another time. Have a blessed day and keep up the good work, my friend. PB
I don’t know if you’ve had kids yet but when you do. Promise yourself now that when that young man or woman wants to go spread their wings let them go!
Best video yet. I was able to go out on a shrimp boat in Panama City while stationed at Tyndall in the 80's. One of the best experiences of my life. All it cost me was a case of beer and he gave me all the shrimp we caught in the few hours we were out. First time i was introduced to Queen shrimp. Keep the videos going...love it.
Very informative to the people who never knew. This is how it’s done in a local seafood community every where. My memories from fernandina beach in NE Florida
Born and raised dulac Louisiana bottom of the boot ...I prey yall have a nice blessed season be safe we just left out again on the boat just hit 80 box 4 days stay blessed 🙌
One of the best and most informative videos you guys have ever released. A lot of history being explained. You guys need to do more videos like this. Kind of like Mike Rowe on dirty jobs... but in your case it is history...from food to table. Outstanding job guys.
Sorry bluegabe continue when I was 12 years old with a door to door milk man also the newspaper, to Campos marina back in the 60s I'm 68 been living here my whole life beautiful people I knew Robert and Zacks grandparents very well Miss Mable, and Blackies Campo that was my mornings on the weekend we delivered milk etc. for most of southern St. Bernard parish did not have to many store back then in Shell Beach, Delicoix, and Hopedale, some of the best fishing in the south caught my share you and Kelly have some of the best videos on RUclips tks tell Kelly that was a awesome redfish she caught the other day again tks for the video help keep the old man entertained.
Connecting with the Dolphin was cool I bet. Especially when it looked you in the eye. Nice, Cajun people made the day. Mouth was watering fresh biol too. Man ! What a grate life !

Great video, I was glued to every movement that skipper made. Not a wasted movement in carrying out his task. Half the world would starve if it wasn't for people like him. Look at the huge part he plays in the food chain. The skipper knows his shrimp and you can put a cracker on that doo.
Bluegabe and Kelly another great video ! Thanks for taking us along. Tell the young captain he did a great job telling how run the rigging and he did a great job on cooking. Be Bless ! Be looking for the next one.
That's the first time I saw them riggers on a skiff. Usually those types of boats would have 2 poles up in the air "day skimmers" at least that's how it was back in my day. Hey Campo this is Capt. Swampy kin here :) great job and yall learned me something new in this vid
Ain't nothing like taking a nap after a long day catching shrimp or fish and waking up to have a nice seafood boil. Think it's time for me to go back to grand isle.
What a great video, 👍 this was very interesting 👏 from the beginning to the end. That caption really new how to run that boat, bring in the shimp, and cook a fantastic meal 😋 😍 ❤😊😊
The people you were with are the salt of the earth. I hope you truly appreciate meeting and have the luck of God meeting in your life during this video. God bless you and your family. This video made my heart smile. The world needs more people like you.
that was great Blue Gabe. I helped a mate of mine for a few weeks by driving his boat prawning/shrimping in Australia. Unfortunately I only drove the boat, 63' and he and a deck hand worked the gear and sorted the catch so I didn't get to know what we were doing. Now I do. We did haul direct over the stern rather than the side like you did. Thanks for sharing.
Hello great video. This was the best video i ever seen. Thanks gabe and Kelly for making this video. I seen some great shrimp video yall got them beat by far.
Cool video Gabe. I could listen to these men talk forever. Brings back so many memories of my year in NORLANS. Everybody treat you like your family. Beautiful Large shrimp Uncle Keith in Ohio
Now this was an awesome video. I have a good feeling it’s going to be your best one! Keep up the hard work and thank you for showing how hard those boys work. People need to understand how they get their seafood.
One of the best videos that you've made. I could tell y'all were enjoying it!!! Made me wish that I was there doing it too, brother!!! Great video!!! God bless and keep y'all safe!!!
Thanks for a very educational video. Like u I have never been on a real shrimp boat until today. The food feast had all my favorite seafood etc. The quality of you and Kelly's film making is outstanding, thanks again.
What a great vid !! For I can not say more. I have hunted, fished, crabbed, trapped, tonged for oysters, before I was 17 teen. For it is truly nice to see of how these young men work hard and that is no lie. As I was born in 1955 and it is nice to see these young men do there thing. Old Master Gunnery SGT USMC.
That captain sure has a lot of work to do. Watching out for boats, checking depth, keeping time on drags, pulling the rope in. No wonder their beat by the end of the day. HARD WORK to say the least.
That Zach guy has a tonne of skills. He knows what he's doing and he's loving the life he's in it. He is sure are the succesor of the family legacy. Enjoyable shrimping video.
The mystery fish is a Violet Goby, they can get up to about 28 inches in length, they are near blind and have a modified anal fin that acts as a suction cup to latch on to stuff. They are often sold in the pet trade as dragonfish and mislabeled as freshwater, but they require a very specific salt content to thrive, so catching one is a good sign the ecosystem is healthy.

That boy definitely knows what he’s doing! Went on a shrimp trawler when I was a kid and hated all the dead by catch we shoveled off the deck. His way is much better! Cool video Gabe! From Southport N.C.
I work as a deckhand on a shrimp boat out of Galveston, Texas. I work with my 89 year old father in law. He’s been shrimping 80 years and our followers love watching our daily routine. You captured what I’ve been trying to capture. Perfectly. I thoroughly enjoyed your video and the fact that you showed from beginning to end. I know it takes time editing and I know it’s a timely process but bravo to you for a great video. I hope you don’t mind but I am going to show it on my page as I know many of our followers would love to see this. Take care and if y’all are ever in Galveston do you have a free ride.
Sheesh talk about multitasking, the guys driving the boat pulling nets and giving a narrative, I have a bigger appreciation for wild caught shrimp 🍤 Thank you 🙏🏽
Very cool, and informative video Gabe. People take it to lightly where there food comes from. I think once you see how hard and the culture it comes from, you can appreciate it more. That goes for anything that puts food on your table. I have always respected how hard of work it is, and now I respect it all the more. Keep these great videos coming my brother. Stay awesome and stay blessed.
Lol Gabe the shrimp you showed was what I grew up using for bait. My grandparents had a place in Brazoria, Texas right on the mouth of the Gulf and I spent every summer there fishing and helping on the shrimp boat and riding my horse. I would bring him up with me and roped off the bottom of one of the cabins for a stall for the summer.. the best memories... Many thanks for taking me back to those memories... You have a wonderful channel. Thanks again...
Awsome way of life. Nothing like being your own boss. People in Louisiana are the friendliest in the US. A rough few years with all the Hurricanes but I hope they have bounced back.

Caught one of those weird fish a month ago in doctor's inlet Orange pk fla. While shrimping deep water. Contacted fwc and never heard back. Thanks to one of your commenters I have an ID violet goby, awesome 👌. Super strong year for shrimping, catching 2-3 lbs a cast on right tide. Keep it coming blue Gabe, love your channel.🤙
GREAT VIDEO, Frens! I grew up going shrimping with my Dad, my brother, and my sister (sometimes)... Dad had a 32' setback trawl and pulled it with a 15' bateau... we'd go down to the marsh around Golden Meadow and pull in the canals and inland lakes down there. I hated it at the time because we'd get eaten up by mosquitoes & deerflies, and it was a lot of work once the first drag was dumped in the box. Looking back, I was young and just didn't know what good times were back then! The best part was that we kept all we caught, and had shrimp in the freezer all winter long! God bless ALL of us! WWG1WGA
Warms this Canadian's heart to hear Blue Gabe slip into a Louisiana drawl! I love watching that Shrimping Boat work, what a treat to see how and where the shrimp we use for fishing and of course eating comes from. Up here most of the shrimp we eat on the west coast are Spot Prawns and they are caught in traps due to the depth, and the rocky terrain and reef formations. That said they are sweet little jewels and about 3x the size of the southern species of Shrimp from the Louisiana bayou. Love the videos Gabe, where to next Brother?
are white and brown shrimp get pretty big but as they mature they move off shore. cause of the coast line the big ones are harder and fewer the further out. typically them door nets do commercial food and aren't brought back alive, bringing in thousands of pounds a trip. a trip lasting several days.
Thank you Gabe and Kelly for taking your time and sharing with us. Actually is really awesome to learn how they shrimp! Thanks again from Stuttgart Arkansas 🦆🌾♥️
U will have tons of deck hands n crap and those two metal things are called doors the back they dump is a tail big commercial ones of two tails and have a couple tons of shrimp at the end of the day
that is a dream trip for me. ill tell you. im building a house in crystal river and we went to this local shack called the freezer. had THE BEST shrimp of my life. just like youve got there, peel and eat. order by the pound. when i move down there, im going to eat that once a week until im sick lol. thats the life. great job gabe.
Yessiree Gabe, this was one of your BEST VIDEOS! It showed everyone where their seafood originates. Good job! Those guys work their butts off...because they LOVE it! Kelly, gotta say, glad you were able to play with the porpoise's while returning to port! Those guys swim fast on their back...wish I could do that! Gabe, sorry about the leg hairs ya lost...at least that was all! Please stay safe you guys! 👍 🤙😎
Hey great video, I grow up in St. Bernard Parish, my brother Glenn operated a marina down the road in Hopedale but after he sold it he gets all his shrimp from Campo’s. He talks nothing but good things about the Campo’s.
That was a blast......and our man Zach is one heck of a hard working skillful and master of his skills pure hearted skipper....there was not a single moment that I skipped forward.... and yes how can we forget you for making all in a days work wonderful documentary... keep up the good work and keep enjoying....and thank you bringing it to us
I made those “fancy knots” when tying up our boat. After the cleat, and the extra line would just hang, so I would do that braid it on the dock and it is pretty and functional. Great video 🥰
I am watching this at Midnight in the UK and all I can think about is juicy prawns and fresh blue crab, I am so hungry right now i could scream !!!!!!!!!!!
Those guys are some some hard working sob's!!! Its awesome just to watch them work, they are like a well oiled machine. now im hungry for for a good old boil!!!!
Gabe I really, really enjoyed this one. Thank you for letting the story kind of tell itself out there on the boat. It was really neat to see that process. I had to send the link to my Dad...we used to live near Biloxi MS and of course have been to N'Awlins. Used to buy shrimp fresh from the boats for like, $3 a lb! Anyway, it was really neat to see, and also the footage of these guys at their marina too. Crawfish video was neat too. I remember when they would actually migrate across the hwy, and most cars would simply pull over, fill up a bushel and leave! "Crunch, crunch...crunch!" as you drove! Wonder if that still happens...anyway, good job as usual -- don't burn yourself out, man! You are working awful hard. tight lines, Pete

Just made it to 2:10, lol. Cummins! yeah baby!
Thank you Gabe and Kelly for taking your time and sharing with us. Actually is really awesome to learn how they shrimp! Thanks again from Stuttgart Arkansas 🦆🌾♥️
That isnt fully how thats just for bait but shrimping on big huge boats is diffrent
U will have tons of deck hands n crap and those two metal things are called doors the back they dump is a tail big commercial ones of two tails and have a couple tons of shrimp at the end of the day
And they usally shrimp more at knight and when they do most of the time
Where i live the big huge ones go down the bayou in the ship canal all the way to the Gulf of Mexico
That right there was an OUTSTANDING VIDEO!
Total silence on the boat. Everyone knows their job and their place. True professionals right there!!
I heard that lil boosie “set it off” 😅😅 my guy ✊🏽
Great video I often wondered what it would be like to go shrimping, and I like it

That looks like a fun day! I love Cajun boils! I lived in South Louisiana for a year and they have the best food hands down!
If you don't enjoy a day like that, you just don't have a good time in you. Thank you for the video and for being real people.
You guys have an amazing life. There's only a few places here in Tucson to fish. But fishing there is nothing like the ocean or a huge lake.
What a sweet lifestyle, I loved the father and son. Thanks for another great video!
Dang I'm freaking hungry for a boil right now. Great video as always Gabe 👍🏼 👌🏼 👏🏽

Hey great video, I grow up in St. Bernard Parish, my brother Glenn operated a marina down the road in Hopedale but after he sold it he gets all his shrimp from Campo’s. He talks nothing but good things about the Campo’s.

From someone who eats a lot of shrimp mainly from north Carolina I loved this video.
Just got very excited seeing that this vid is over 30min.
Lying in bed with Covid, so this makes it all a bit better!!
Thanks🙏
Hope you feel better soon
I hallucinated for 3 days straight, get well bro. Took about 9 days to get back into it...
Take large amounts of vitamin D plus Zinc. It will prevent the virus from replicating in your body so you won't get sicker.
Excellent Vid. Found myself grinning through the whole thing. Thanks.
