Lol. Looks like the Hitachi I used to sell that was a rebranded Funai. Seems as though many name brands decided it was cheaper to buy and re-brand Funai.
i guess im asking randomly but does anyone know of a tool to get back into an instagram account..? I was stupid forgot the login password. I appreciate any tricks you can give me
@Denver Brayan I really appreciate your reply. I found the site thru google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff now. Seems to take a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Have you ever had a unit fail soon after the mode switch cleaning where it was doing the same thing again? I have seen mode switches that were clean looking but still would not work most of the time.
Thanks for all the great information. That fixed My ZV450MW8 a while back. Now my new problem is its blowing the 1 amp fuse upon plugging it in to power. I have a field piece SC336 meter that goes to OL when checking some of the capacitor's microfarads. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Using most capacitance meters need to have the capacitors disconnected from circuit. It will only show the value and not the ESR though. Also make sure the measurement range is of your meter within the capacitors value.
I have a Sansui VRDVD4005 vcr-dvd recorder that has DVD that will not finalize after recording a program, do you have any idea what causes this problem,, it only uses DVD-R discs. Will a DVD from a Magnavox work on the Sansui.
Hey man, thanks for the video. I have a ZV440MW8A and it's doing the same thing. I already took it apart and cleaned the mode switch and also applied some dialectic grease. It's still doing this exact same thing. One thing I notice is that when I popped a couple parts off to look again, the mode switch wasn't lined up anymore. Is that normal? I'm doing everything I can to make sure that it remains lined up when I snap it back together.
@norcal715 Thanks for the vid. I have a 2007 zv450mw8 which had the same symptom as yours (could play vhs, would power off, eject on power on, occasionally eat tape). I cleaned the mode select switch...maybe not as well as you and now I can play, rewind and Fastfwd, but only for a very short time and then the behavior repeats. Did I not get the mode select switch good enough or should I check something else? Thanks in advance.
Don't want to speak to soon but took it back apart and cleaned the mode select again. At first, it showed same behavior, play for a few seconds and power off. Repeated eject, play, power off few times and it now seems to be playing ok again.
I've got one of these and the vcr won't play. It will load the tape and when play is selected it does nothing. After a few seconds it turns off. If you power back on it ejects the tape, spills the tape inside the machine about half the time. I just knew it was the mode select switch, but after brushing and reassembly it hasn't changed. Any ideas?
@@norcal715 You're not going to believe this! The loading motor was working but I cleaned the belt anyway. I put a tape in and it worked perfectly. I have since copied a tape of some old home movies to dvd. Thanks for the reply.
I wanna thank you for giving me the courage to finally repair it.
It amazes me how many VCR's are still coming for repairs in North America...they are all but extinct in Europe!
Thank's for the video!
I see tons at my shop. VCRs and cassette decks.
Hello, here in Belgium i still repair one per week aproximately
You know it's a success when we get to see the Chrysler LeBaron riding on rims... one of these times he'll evade those police! lol. Nice work!
Great job =D
Thanks for the help! Found one of these at a thrift shop for $3 and the switch was the problem.
$3 really? I would pay $3 all day long just to have some spare parts.

Excellent video! The blue ESR tester also.Thank you!
Hello, I just sent you an email concerning the VCR's I have. Right when I was ready to give up I found this video!.
I did reply. Thank you
Toshiba D-VR7 is the same machine. Mode switch is dirty. Have had 3 units with same problem.
@Alex Langston good reason not to use Instragram or facebook

Funai: No god please no, nooo buy new product!
Lol I just got a commercial here on youtube for a RadVCR combo and it is a Funai by the look of it...lol.
I have been seeing those also.

So far (as far as I know) a 100% success rate

Why stainless steel instead of a brass brush to clean mode switch?

It may not be loading completely. Is the loading motor completing the loading cycle? Try and give it some help and see if it helps.

Where can I get some of that grease? My Sylvania combo is eating my tapes.
Any auto parts store should have dielectric grease.
Hey! What happened to the Sanyo... I feel cheated... ended up in a de-ja-vue moment laps - what happend? ;)
He might be repairing that in a separate video
Should be a separate video if all gos well
@@norcal715 Even if it isn't, you should still upload it. :)
@@norcal715 Looking forward to it :)
Why to record a police chase?
Why of course! 😃
You know why Aussies never see live police chases? because our cops don't like cameras!
Always that awful Funai design with the soft tape, when desoldering 3 times it is near to be dead already .... Nonsense
