Magnavox MWR20V6 DVD VCR Combo sent from Illinois that eats tapes. Normal services repaired it!

- Another VCR was sent in to me to have a look at. This time it is a Magnavox DVD/VCR Combo model MWR20V6 with the common Mode Select Switch Issue. A complete VCR and DVD service, plus the problematic Power Supply capacitor solved the issues. Many more years left in this unit.

Thank you for taking the time to make this video. I followed your steps and was able to get my combo player to work again! It was the metal wire brush that did it. So excited! This was my first repair on a piece of tech.

WOOHOOO ! It was the mode selector switch ! I used barium o-ring lube after SS brushing it clean. Love having 2 exrta plastic screws left over. I just cannot find where they go !

That's funny, I actually live about 1 hr 15 min from Brazil, IN. Nice fix/repair/clean, I'm sure the owners going to be happy it's fixed and back home.

Just bought one of these from a thrift store with the remote for $5. DVD seems to work but the VCR powers down when I insert a tape. It ejects when I turn it back on.
If the motor continues to spin past the loading point and then shuts off, then its a mode switch issue. No doubt.

i bought that same model unit at a thrift store. going to put a tape in it right now and run it some. hasnt been run in a few months
it has a -rw/-r badge on the front left so maybe a year or two older than that one
If that ring is not on the motherboard that you were cleaning what do you do then I had one that has no ring on it to fix eating tapes im fixing combo tv/vcar player

I have a magnavox i been working on fixed the mode switch and the belts but now i have a new issue i was wondering if you might help me figure it out if i hit the power button it tries to eject something on the vhs side and then just shuts off i can "help" a vhs in it and it accepts it but plays for about 3 seconds tries to eject and then stops then fully ejects after i power back on.
What kind of belt do i need to get and where. My belt is slipping on my VCR.
