- A repair on a Funai ZV427FX4 DVD/VCR combo that came in for the issue of VCR wont play. I found the cylinder motor to be bound up and after a little encouragement it turned freely. This is a common issue if you let these units sit and not exercise them for several years. After freeing up the motor it would not play for more than a few seconds. After infrared emitter and detector cleaning all is good now. Thanks for watching.
Well, well, well. Funai, we meet again!
Great stuff as always. I would have never believed that a tiny amount of dust on the prism would cause the 7 second shutdown problem if I hadn't seen it in person. BTW my customer with the Magnavox 457MG9 has had it for a few weeks now and I haven't heard anything from him after I changed the rest of the caps. I think there were about 8-10 330uf and a couple of 100ufs. No news is good news, I suppose.
Thank you Dave for letting me know the outcome of your endeavor.
I was hoping to see the end of that car chase! Anyways, great video!
Another unit saved from going to landfill and (hopefully) a happy customer.
Not an expensive repair bill, quick and easy fix, no new parts needed either. A win-win situation all-round. 😎👍
Wow, another customer wants to keep one of these functional, and willing to pay for it?
You will always have my like at the first place .. because I love your repairing..
This video was so helpful. I have the same model that was doing the same thing. Works great now! Thank you
Thank You NorCal. I have learned alot about these vcr/dvd recorders. I have worked on these unit's. Currently i am repairing the RCA Ced video discs player's. So far at least 7 player's fully functional again. Thank You again for your service videos. Mike from Minnesota.
Thanks. Gave me an easy fix on another unit and saved it from the landfill.
