So, hey, I thought I'd let everyone know this: if the visuals seems spontaneous just like in my last video, it's not my fault I promise. This movie was a humongous hit when it came out. Batman Forever is an absolute Masterpiece of a film! It's probably my personal favorite Batman movie, I love everything about it. Val Kilmer is a fantastic Bruce Wayne/Batman, the colorful Neon lit streets of Gotham and the added body builder statues around the city, give it a surreal and fresh look that you don't see in alot of Modern Superhero films today. The over-the-top performances of the villains combined with Kilmer and Chris O'Donnels straightman approach give this film a kind of uniqueness that most films normally wouldn't do.
I'm so glad to hear that I'm not the only person that loves this movie for what it is. I really hope this video lived up to any potential expectation before you watched considering the title of this video!!

I remember watching this when it was released in cinemas. I must have been 8 years old. I absolutely loved it! I had a huge poster on my bedroom door and some toys from the movie. I remember all they hype, the Seal song - what a time! I remember it being exciting, colourful and fun. How many children came out of the cinema after seeing the new Batman movie feeling like I did?
When I was 11 I was so psyched and excited to see Batman forever because it had my favorite Batman villain the riddler. I watched the last two movies before it and loved them and as well as the comics and the cartoon . So, going to this move was a huge excitement for me. I still remembered seeing the teaser poster of the Batman logo with the question mark. Watched it in theaters and I loved it now as a 37 yr old adult it’s different Yeah it’s not great, but I still have a soft spot for Batman forever
This is so fucking cool to hear. Trust me, it’s not that great but man, just like you, I have a soft spot for Batman Forever as well. I really hope this video managed to somehow reconnect with your love for it from your childhood in a positive way!
The first Batman movie to actually be about Batman unlike the Burton films. Val Kilmer is the under appreciated Batman. I hope The Schumacher Cut is released someday.
We also see The "Public" Bruce Wayne actually doing things and going to places hes a silver spoon kid and grew up with his family name being huge and he's a aristocrat he should be able to blend in and act accordingly which Kilmer does perfectly
I wish I could like Batman Begins, man. I just couldn't get into the first half of the movie. It feels so unnecessary despite it being important in the end and honestly, it just feels like an entirely different movie by time you get to the good portions, you know?
I don’t know. I mean the whole thing comes back together with Ra's al Ghul. It served what it needed to. It’s an introduction to the character. Someone told me they didn’t know a thing about Batman.. I told her watch Batman Begins.
Wow why have I not seen this review? My top 1 batman movie will always be Batman begins with its dark theme, the burrows was amazing, the ending "I will not kill you, but i dont have to save u" as he glides backwards away using the back draft from the train... NOW THAT'S FOR THE SERIOUS BATMAN TAKE....now on to the other side of the coin...Batman forever the campy version one of the two is unbeatable in terms of how val kilmer portrayed bruce and batman...both had the accurate personas and totally loved his detached, emo, and disturbed bruce wayne side...Batman forever's batmobile's *coughs third wing was clearly made to sell good toys in my opinion but the batmobile in forever is sooooo BATMAN...apart from ofcourse michael keaton's version... batman forever's gotham city gave the right balance when mashing the comic campy 60's universe with a much darker serious depressed depiction that dark theme contrasted with neonlights and giant statues gave gotham a msyterious dark mayhem city feel... the movie also showed all THREE of batman's vehicles which was a plus! And what always gets me is that ending at the asylum between chase and bruce it was a well written ending matched with the holloween type atmosphere around the asylum area which honors a feel of the animated series back in the 90's... I will never understand why batman's standards always had to be on how grounded and real it looked comparing to modern day life...I will always love batman forever as a complete other side contrast vs the batman begins... the two of them are the best versions of the campy and the real.. :) yet again its only my opinion.
I'm highly glad that you, seemingly, enjoyed my video! For what it's worth, I love Batman Forever for the exact reason you mentioned -- the balance it has. From showcasing the campiness to having seriously dark vulnerable moments for Bruce Wayne to actually giving us a movie that feels like it has more depth beyond wanting to be a "Batman movie", it's seriously a well-done movie and I do think it gets bashed way too much!
I actually like Batman & Robin! I think it's a legitimate entertaining movie despite it's weird creative decisions. It's fun, lighthearted and an incredibly visually colorful movie that deserves far more love in my opinion
I've seen a different cut of the film (not Schumacher cut, test audience cut) and it would have been the best Batman in everybody's mind. Also, still has Danny Elfman's score.
Batman Forever is a very flawed entertaining intentional campy ridiculous movie. Two Face He doesn’t just simply shoot Batman since he wants to kill him, and he seriously asks Batman why won’t you just die. Both Riddler and Two Face are having fun being very hammy in a campy Batman movie. The movie has multiple aspects that are very easy to criticize including Two Face just hoping Batman is at a Circus instead of not patrolling Gotham City. The inane Edward murders his boss except somehow he erases the footage of it despite the movie never gave us that explanation so that’s a huge plot hole. The Riddler fails to do anything when seeing Batman is going to use a batarang.
No no trust me this movie sucks. No one wanted a silly/Batman 66 version of Batman. Batman 1989 & Returns will always be better then Joel Schumacher's pathetic version of Batman
@@IDontBeatGames that's the reason i hate Batman Forever and Batman & Robin (1997) so much because Tim Burton was going to do a 3rd movie after Returns but the soccer moms and WB kicked Tim Burton. Pisses me off to this day
