  • Vrat recipes usually are deep fried or have potatoes in it which gets pretty boring. I have developed 2 healthy vrat recipes that you will love to eat not only during fasting days but on any other day as well!

    Ingredients
    Sama rice/vrat ke chawal/moraiyo 200 g/1 cup
    lauki/bottle gourd 300g
    Peanut powder 3 tbsp
    Salt 1 tsp
    Black pepper powder 1/4 tsp
    coriander/cilantro leaves 3 tbsp
    Green chili 2, finely chopped
    Ghee/oil , as required
    Sesame seeds 1 tsp
    Cumin seeds 1 tsp
    Red chili powder 1/2 tsp (optional)
    Baking soda 1/4 tsp
    Lemon juice 1 tbsp
    water as required

    Hi Poonam ji ,marvelous looking recipe indeed very healthy too, for vrat if you wish you can make this atta which is high in protein 500 grms amaranth 250grms samak 150 grm sabudana and 2tblsp jeera.🙏👍🌷e

    Thnx for replying , one more combination is easy to follow if one doesn’t want to measure 2 cups of Rajgira 1 cup Samak rice 1cup saboodana.🙏🌹

    Very nice ma'am. Different dish. I specifically liked appa one cause it's very less time consuming nd quick to eat. Can we make it in idli form also?

      Thank you very much. You cannot make this in idli form, steaming won't work for this recipe.

    From where to buy Samak chawal?

      You can get it from the grocery store where you get dals and rice from. It is also called moraiyo, samo seeds, barnyard millets.
